Alright, today I'm sharing some thoughts on practicing at the shala in Mysore while working with discomfort in the body. While my recent personal experience is probably more accurately described as practicing with pain rather than "injury", being unable to comfortably move through the various movement patterns was similarly limiting and therefore set off a lot of the same mental & psychological processes. Hopefully my personal experience will be something that others can learn from, and develop a sense of comfort in working with the body in a wider variety of states - and to feel confident in doing so both at home and in a group.

    As a child I had done back overs and front overs in back bends and with 40 to 45 yrs later with no longer practicing decided to practice against the wall because there was some muscle memory left in me and it really works well since I have no assistance and now practice Ashtanga 1st series on TH-cam with the "Mysore" people. It still takes time but works great. Thank you for the reassurance.
