Well known Carrera issues. Mass production with low QC, chips of same model can vary in output by over 10%. Motors can vary 20% and more... Plus let's not get into what version CU you are running...but good choice of guides! :)

Two things for sure. 1) When playing on online FPS, like COD for example, the team killer is almost always the idiot with the flame thrower. 2) When two Carrera cars have a much different speed, it is almost always the decoder. Every now again you stumble across one that has an incorrect speed profile burned into the PROM.

Thank you for pointing this out, Joe. I had noticed this issue when I first got into Carrera Digital a few years ago. I make all of my cars available for my grandchildren to drive, and since they are so young, I set the speeds of the cars they drive to 10-20%. Right away, I noticed that some of the cars were very fast, even on 10%, and impossible for the kids to drive. Then I noticed that all of the problem cars were manufactured in 2019. Carrera had quickly corrected the issue, but watch out for cars from 2019, they may still have those chips. I only thought the issue was a problem for up to the first 40% speed settings before things evened out, but after watching your video, apparently the issue goes much further than that! Thanks again, Joe.

Makes you wonder you can probably replace the fet to a better quality one and your cars will get faster.. Like with RC buying a better quality speed control will make your RC car perform better.

I totally understand the addiction to keep wanting to buy the next car and I like how you said if you feel that new display case too quick that really means you’re buying too many cars too fast and you won’t be able to get the one you want although you might still buy it lol, anyWho brother I played drums also since I was a teenager I’m 57 years old and I play at our church worship band every Sunday. Hi Joe For $66 oz or $50 US you could get a variable power supply on Amazon I got the same one as Marty has and would cut out a few of your connections including the fused one as it has one built into it I do like the terminal block setup makes it nice and easy to check it if any faults appear Just remember with electricity, one flash and your ash🤣🤣 🍻Mal
