Great Video Joe, You have unlocked and explained the Frankenslot Controller. Dare I say better than the manual. This video needed to be done. Bravo! I have already shared it 4 times as you explained it better than I could. Thank you.
Thanks Warren. Much apreciated. I actually found out why they use a three point switch. @mtoilguy informed me that they use the same switch on the controller that can be wired as well as wireless. The middle spot turns on the wire. I also experienced some issues with the channels doubling up but found the solution. I will post in the Discord. :)
Joe Great video...one thing that I found that you didn't mention directly is that you need to disconnect the battery in any carrera wireless controller on the same channel as a Frankenslot controller..I found that there was flaky operation until I did that.I swap back and forth so I have drilled a half inch hole in the bottom of my Carrera controllers to easily access the battery connector without having to take the bottom cover off
@@edmagner1896 very interesting point. I experienced the Carrera controllers all got pushed down one channel. I ended up re-connecting all my controllers to their proper number But YES, any controllers assigned to the same channel will cause interference and poor connectivity. Thanks so much for pointing this out 👍🤙
I have two of these controllers that Ive bought new and both of them have a extremely short wireless range. Or even when close to the receptor if Incover the controller with one hand, it interferes with the signal. 😢
Ok, it seems like there's not enough power getting to the transmitter. There could also be some interference coming from other devices like cameras or certain LED lights. Neon lights as well or possibly another wireless device that might be sharing the same channel off the 2.4ghz of the controller. You should probably contact Frankenslot directly or your dealer that sold you the controllers. If you need help to trouble shoot more, please feel free to email me or join the Discord ( link in my bio ) Thanks for commenting.
@IrrerasCarrera Thank you for reply buddy! Yeah I will try with different batteries. I have a lot of wifi devices in my house, it would be really hard to try to isolate the issue, like all lights are smart etc... but the Carrera wireless controllers work fine, great range and no interference. I will do more testing and share later. Thanks
@@EASYUSA another overlooked issue can be that the FS are sharing a channel on the receiver. Make sure that all controllers are on separate channels, including the carrera controllers. If you pair a controller to a channel that already is assigned then you can get overlapping issues. Worth a try to just start fresh and re-pair all your wireless controllers. Unplug batteries of controllers that are not in use as well.
I have been interested in these for months now, Joe. Awesome video man, might pick some up eventually! I can "deal" with the thumb plungers, and they have almost become second nature now, but nothing replaces the finesse of the trigger! I just love running my "analog" professor motors controller, but am looking for a couple wireless digital replacements for when friends or family want to race. I had no idea these had all these settings! 🤘👍
Yeah man! Thanks so much. The main reason I picked these up was to be able to use more than 16 steps of sensitivity. It was the selling point for me. Plus the added tunability in a wireless controller was just a bonus. You won't be disappointed. I'm still not giving these controllers to guests though, they get the old stuff lol. The Carrera plungers are not garbage by any means. They are great for what they are. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks again 😎
@@IrrerasCarrera Most definitely, Joe!! If I pick some up I'll let you know how I get on with them. I agree about the guests though... You probably have a bunch more than me to worry about lol.
Thanks Joe! great explanation of all the functions. Have two of them, enjoy the smooth feel of the trigger. Tried other brands with the wiper style trigger board like Frankenslot much better.
I'm glad you liked it. I had the opportunity to test True speed and Fslot together and to be honest, I liked the True speed better by a little bit. However, when I got home and messed with the settings, the Fslot ( for me) is a WAY better controller. Thanks for sharing!!
@@IrrerasCarrera After watching your video I decided to mess with the settings. I been using both of them for a couple of months just the way they arrived. It's funny, one of them works just like your video but the other one doesn't. I hold the throttle wide open, press the lane change button and turn the control on and the light comes on. When a release the throttle and then the lane changer button the light goes off. tried numerous times with the same results.....UGH...What I'm I doing wrong??
@@fixit5355 after holding down the throttle and switch button, turn on the controller. You should see a solid red light. Then release, it should blink 1,3 or 4 times indicating that you are in the first menu. Check to see if the model #s in the back are the same. Some versions vary slightly. Next check that the trigger piece is properly installed. One of my controllers had a trigger that was not set all the way. It protruded a bit, not allowing for maximum throttle. This is off the top of my head but send me a video through discord, link in my bio, or an e-mail. There has to be a programmed menu or the thing wouldn't work. Sorry you're having trouble.
Good review Joe. My next track setup will have wireless controllers probably Carrera ones because I’ll more than likely buy a used digital set with wireless controllers. I’ll save the after market ones for later. 👍
Joe Joe Joe…what a terrible video. 😂 jk my brother! Great video and description. I’ve been using this controller for well over a year….now I finally know how to properly program it lol. Ciao Bello ✌🏼

Those look rad dude! Put them on my list!
Thanks Joe.
Very detaile, good job mate 👏
We love ours! Great controllers.
Thanks for watching Marty. Your recommendation was definitely a deciding factor when I made the switch.
Is there no adjustment for braking?
Unfortunately not on the controller itself. However, setting the brake force on the CU or through Smart race is pretty easy.
