A1/9 the Walking Dead 0331 on operation Dewey Canyon an appetite for adventure over a love of ease PH Feb18 1969
I See you in actors With the Period 782 gear . Dad was on Dewie Canyon. Got a punji Spike through his foot . It's good you don't have to deal with Punji Spikes BUT You don't get The M61 Mag Pouch either PS. What Were is that your standing . On the deck ? Were is that
do you do reenacting or airsoft? I am interested in getting like a m40 rifle (remington 700) and doing like a marine sniper. If I can't get that I'll do vietcong or smthg. Right now i do ww2 reenacting
I'm pretty sure the tube thing is a mortar
One thing they would do would put sand bags on the top then they put dirt on it
Good job ,looks good,
Nice collection of Personal items, I'm a pocket filler myself. Never enough personal effects to keep your impression just that much more authentic. I got to get some 60s era stuff most of mine is WWII era. Great video for reference, lucky find with that Antique store. Also super cool you got most of your Uniforms from family, that's that extra touch that can really bring your Impressions home and make them that much more impactful.
We never got M-14 just the Matel M-16. The M14 is KING of battle. The Tonka was issued to ARVN with WW2 M-1 Carbine. Hill 881 north / ple-durang 1969.
Magazines we put in gasmask pouch. We ditched the gas mask.
I love how he didn’t make a introduction video, he just started teaching us about Nam’! Lol
Good looking set up. I'd have had you jump up and down and lose some of it, but on the whole pretty good of you to remember the old timers! Get your bug juice on, and get to humpin'!
Hey, Where's your sling rope for your rappel sling?
4:25 Those tubes are cardboard shipping containers for mortar rounds, I believe 81mm rounds used in the M29 mortar. That same style is still used today for not just mortars, but frag and smoke grenades; they’re commonly referred to as “pringle cans” on the collectors market.
ERDL experimental research and development laboratories existing from WW2 research into camouflage effectiveness. Green dominant low lands , lime leaf 🌿 , brown dominant central Highlands , wet season, dry season variants. Which influenced M-81 woodland classic cold war 1976 central American brown dominant- 1981 - 1983 , European patterns , in different percentages blown up in shapes, from the original ERDL experimental.
Thanks for introducing me to that absolute gem of a song
Hey you have the same watch as me
Where did you get the small leather shaving kit pouch?
Had a pouch with all this stuff as a kid back in the 70's, remember the water purification bottle with the wax covering it and the bandages in the plastic wrap, lived on a military base, so probably a big reason why I came across stuff like this as a young kid...
Nice man
Guys. This particular pack is going to cost you! But…. From personal use this is probably one of the toughest, lightest, and easy to use rucksacks ever made! Like I said though. Lots of assembly straps and $$$ are the only down sides to owning snd using one!
Rifle not gun
You are missing a pack shelf on your frame. Second was having "mẹ ơi" modify a standard US issue small patrol pack, or you picked one up from a dead NVA or Victor Charles. I used a Vietnam Vet approved Small pack when I was jumping around AF in '10-14. It saved weight of carrying excessive bullshit by Making you pack for the mission, not just for fuck around value. The added bonus of being able to jump on a plane, transition to a helicopter, then roll on a ground convoy cannot be undersold.
The mags go in the bandoleer. You can tie them on the front, and the pins are used to secure it across the front of your flack jacket... The canteen issue was because that was all you got, so you hook or crook the canteens. Good PL's got a few extra for the boys from greasing supply. If not, you got your own.
Good job ,nice set up
nice Clocksin
Very knowledgeable, young man. 1st Cav 67/68. As a medic I carried similiar with the addition of a medical aid kit. Thanks for making this available.
Too much junk. Tabasco, cigarette case, zippo, K bar . Go to Doc for ASA and field dressings.
Crystal Blue Persuasion
note about the C-Ration Accessory packet, that one is one put in early MRE's, you can tell because the pack includes a plastic spoon in the packet itself
Looks good
Hey I saw that you do early/mid war would you be interested in a experimental canteen you can see it very common with cav 101st so on and so forth you can even see them us them until 72
Crimson and Clover😊
Flash back
Nice. But just wondering, where would carry the grenades?
Go home G.I.
What do you use for the undershirt? Trying to find a good one for a late war impression
I just found a set on Amazon that had the correct collar
