Just ran across your channel. My father was in Hue Lima company 3rd battalion 5th marines I showed him this video. He said When you watch the documentaries on Hue alot of Marines carried north Vietnamese field packs. He said they were better than the ones they were issued. He said when they found one they would take it and throw the issued one away.
I have a 1965 Operation Starlite set. One thing i would maybe change at some point for a Hue set up is going from the Dark Green M-41 cross straps to the WW2 Khaki M-41 cross straps. Being it is one of the few times that you see Marines with straps on the outside of the Flaks the WW-2 ones stick out like a sore thumb. Nice impression man just needs to be "Saltier". 👍👍
Really love these videos need more accurate Vietnam reenactors the prize of my helmet collection is a Vietnam war era m1c airborne helmet with the Mitchell camo
beautiful gear and history. I have the boots. original 1966. (i collect and flip vintage US WWII, Korea, Vietnam gear...actually more of an addiction (: ). i'll send you links if want. subd. HT🤙
I wanted to start a Vietnam impression when I first started collecting, you strengthened that dream lol. I don’t know if you have discord but I’d love to have you be a part my server. It’s very small right now but I have a couple of other collectors on it. Would you be interested in joining?
Love your impression brother, I was not a Marine I was Army Airborne. I have a question for you, where did you get your jungle boots, I would really appreciate if you could tell me, keep up your good work.
You’re missing the two most important parts of the fit. Dirt and cigarettes! If you really want to get your things worn in then cycle through each piece of clothing instead of wearing it all at once and looking like a dork in public. For example wear the pants everyday with no washing for a week then the shirt next week then the flak and so on. It’s best not to wash your stuff ever which is fine if you’re only wearing it out to events and not date nights and job interviews. Also if you want your boots worn in you’re gonna have to wear them every single day. Until they’re well broken in. That’s gonna take a few months.
This is the greatest illustrated video of USMC Huế 68 I've ever seen. Thank you, sir!
Thanks man! That really means a lot, glad you enjoyed it
THAT was some bad mojo. Semper Fi, Devil Dogs!

My Father-in-law was a Marine that was in the MACV compound during the battle of HUE. I'm sure he would have liked your video.

Your gear looks good, you just need club patches on your utility blouse and field jacket.
