It's possible, but it might be much harder, depending on the demons you use. A magic spec'd Jack Frost with Glacial Blast will be necessary, at the very least.

@kaiserkreuz2110 Would you need multiple demons with a specific elemental skill or would you do with one demon (like the Jack Frost example?)

@@falchion2475 You need at least 2 damage dealers, and Jack Frost is the best with his innate allowing critical under Omagatoki. Another I could think of would be Inugami that you'd put before Jack so you get a 20% damage increase on Jack on top of Fire coverage (which is good for the end of the battle, but make sure Masakado doesn't overheal if you can just make him repel a Dracostrike.)

He prioritizes healing over attacking.

​@@SaShA6572Masakado always uses one attack of each element if you repel one of his elemental attacks, for the next few turns he'll replace that specific attack you blocked for an Almighty attack. So what this means is that, if you block a Fire Dracostrike, next turn he'll replace that Fire Dracostrike for a Freikugel/Recalcitrant Execution. And if you attack him with a specific elemental attack, he'll replace one of his attacks of the same element that you hit him with for a diarama on that same turn. So basically, if you hit him with an Agibarion, he'll replace Fire Dracostrike with Diarama. As Kaiser said, Masakado always prioritizes healing over attacking, so if you want to make sure he doesn't use Almighty attacks you just have to hit him with the same element you blocked. Going back to the previous example, if you repelled a Fire Dracostrike last turn, you know in this turn he'll use a Freikugel on the move he would normally use the fire draco, thus to avoid that Freikugel you hit him with an Agibarion so he heals instead. I know this is kinda confusing but I don't know how to explain it more clearly.

Oh, he IS NOT fun, for sure. However, Japanese Rayman, Raving Rabbid, Dual Unicorn and Weakest Femboy saved the day. Whether you know his mechanics or not, it's just not a good boss. The 4x damage multiplier is downright authority abuse and should be condemned. I *might* try low level Satan for the lol, but I haven't even cleared Satan on hard NG level 99, so... LOL Definitely a much better fight tho.

Thanks! Yeah, it's not something I'd do everyday... Well, I'll be honest: I used Cheat Engine to prepare the fight more easily (I stated in the description that I couldn't be bother making a million resets to get the Strength stats of both demons up to par), so i just calculated the maximum possible (without farming incenses) stats they can get for level 52. It would've been hell to prepare otherwise, as it's 2% probability to get +3 Str in a single level up (+1 from Prayer of Strength)... and also the essence farming for the abilities, kinda annoying but i've only put RTA-viable ones (otherwise, Boon Boost EX would be on the Weakest Young Man.)

@@kaiserkreuz2110 Yeah since I play on Console for SMTV, I probably would've just grinded Incenses from Queen Medb 😅. Still good job regardless considering how easily Maskado can Freikugel on any of his turns to ruin an attempt.

Also, you can farm incenses at some gathering spots, there are lots in Odaiba. Thanks! Yeah, if you're not paying attention and don't count properly, he can just be like "I ACTIVATE MY TRAP CARD!" and you die with a Recal.

Hah! I finally got it, after thinking it was impossible during my streams. Thankfully his pattern is hardcoded, so it works really well. I don't think I can beat him with any lower DPS though hah.

The power of hardcoded AI: once we know how it works, it's easy to break it lol.

Yeah! This strat only works with low level base demons, because you can allocate their level up stats all on Strength. This fight is painful because failing usually comes from me lacking patience and it's not fun to redo 10 minutes of fighting for a late mistake lol.

@@kaiserkreuz2110 Yeah, this fight is possibly the least fun I've had in a Megaten game, and that includes Sector Eridanus and the final dungeon in Apocalypse 😬 I also somehow hadn't considered the possibility of tackling Masakado with Makarakarn strats - now I hope someone mods it to have a party-wide effect again just so I can take my revenge and waste *his* time instead.

@@ababyharpseal6534 Yeah, it's definitely not fun. I only do it for the bragging rights and because he's so predictable. You can Repel or Drain his attacks, it's much better than Blocking since he'll use Freikugel/Recal anyway. You want to abuse it and make sure he doesn't heal too much either, and keep on a rhythm of 15% HP every 3 turns so you can end him before it becomes Almighty Hell.

From me, nothing. I'm so done with this boss lmao. Honestly he can be destroyed in almost every possible way, as long as you deal enough damage.

Thanks! That's because the taunt formula is ass (and the only reason I don't have 1 HP on Hare of Inaba): if you're not max HP, there's a high chance Masakado (or any other demon) will ignore your taunt and go for someone else.

Taunt's effectivity goes down the less current HP they have compared to their max HP. At 100% HP, Taunt is guaranteed, but as health decreases, the chance of it working goes down to a minimum of 50%.

And Masakado has a huge tendency of ignoring the taunt so 50% might as well become something like 20%.

@@kaiserkreuz2110 It was honestly a lot of fun. I mysle feel that finding the right direction to go was harder than facing most of the bosses, but I got my ass handed to me in Elden RIng (completed it though) and now Sekiro. The masochism that you get from SMT carries on.

@Nothing-fc2so Oh yeah, Sekiro was fun to play too. I almost did everything (the Shura gauntlet a bit too bs for me.) Nocturne (base) has regular enemies to be more threatening than bosses, which is kinda fixed with Insaniax.

@@kaiserkreuz2110 I look forward to getting better at Sekiro. I am at the butterfly lady and she is a pretty nice challenge. Doesn,t seem impossible but just need time to improve a bit. As for Nocturne I think I will try the Insaniax mod in a few years when I decide to replay it. That boss killing you like that on merciful though...

It's always been like this as far as I'm aware of. To be fair, I was very unlucky at the start. I see Robin and Zephyr with only 30-ish deaths by the time they reach the prison and I'm already sitting at 75 lmao.

Yeah, I didn't include the floor-clipping since I already released a video about it. It was very fun to put and categorize all deaths though. I think of V's Hard as Nocturne's Normal tbh, which is good for newcomers but makes it really easy for veterans (as I mentioned in today's stream.) The level 999 challenges are kinda wack, but it just doesn't hit the same as Nocturne's "hey, you have a Bead to spare? No? Then die!" *crits you to death* moments

@@kaiserkreuz2110 Yup, SMTV overall is not too hard, Nocturne on the other hand made me love the SMT series overall as it was (or rather... STILL IS) a genuine hard task to complete that really gives you the satisfaction of outsmarting the game in the many ways you have to do it (just again... the tiny irrelevant rant that on Switch you cannot play the game on it's "vanilla" experience as it uses the Chronicle revision as the base game from the get-go, and yeah, the rant is irrelevant when from the get-go you get the more complete experience of the game without having to pay more... unless you want the original USA Ps2 release in HD), in my case it's wasn't my very first SMT experience as a whole, for that I have to mention Persona 3 Portable, which is more forgiving overall and have different mechanics, it still has it's own flavor to create those "SMT Moments" we know and love. Edit: To think I got to see around 70% of the entire death reel live during the streams... is funny how this game was like somethin that didn't catched my interest years ago and nowadays I REAALLY apreciate the masterpiece the game is, along with it's successor SMTV and other games like the SMTIV series.
