I My wife & I took our grown kids & their kids yesterday for Boxing Day Chinese restaurant. ( 12 in all). Everyone sat down, pulled out their phones to check something or text someone, and when the meal came they started taking pictures to post on Facebook, or wherever. Don't their friends know what Chinese food looks like?

Growing up in the 60 and 70s, we rode in cars with no seat belts or air bags while our parents smoked . We drank water from the garden hose.We built go karts and mini bikes and made slingshots. If the police brought you home, your parents sided with them, not you. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. If you were lucky, your parents had a Kodak to document a few of the special moments.

I went to upgrade my phone, the guy said, here, scan your face , or finger so I can open it. I said , ' dude, I don't use facial or fingerprint, if a cop gets my phone, they own everything, but this old lady, can't remember a password under stress.. I'm sorry officer, I just...I just can't remember , you have me so upset! New to your channel but just wanted to say how valuable your content is: I wish more men watched your videos and had the benefit of your advice and guidance because (from personal experience) we have a whole generation of men who wear a false mask with women ie pretend to be Alpha males while in reality they are coercively controlled mummy’s boys (so we will never be the No.1 woman in his life), emotionally available commitment-phobes because they married the wrong woman who bled them dry financially. I’ve yet to meet one who isn’t like this - it’s quite alarming - and I hope you’ll deal with such topics because your insight would have much value for severely confused women! Thank you for all that you do.

The internet is owned by the Alphabet Co. and Facecrook. They sanitize, censor and edit content and even tried to corrupt a presidential election. Theirs is a monopoly like Bell Telephone in the 1920s. Thankfully, twitter is still a reliable source for whats real.

Hey Phil, how are you? I was with family, friends Xmas eve, but Xmas I did nothing and loved it. Social media does help. I belong to fan pages for bands I like and, possibly because they are more male dominated bands, I’m kinda popular lol. YT does help. I enjoy it more-so than binging Netflix which I don’t do. Yes you do help people, it’s like talking to a friend the same age.

There are videos on TH-cam that advise lonely people to get off social media. I disagree. I think social media helps bring lonely people together and let's lonely people know that they're not alone and that there's many others who are alone. I especially like live streams where we can all interact in real time.

Hi Phil. I’m 51 and my girlfriend is 48. While she has some long distance family it’s basically just her and I. We are full time truck drivers and also rv’ers with our rv down at a beautiful rv resort in Rockport Texas. Christmas was just another day for her and I. We did go to a potluck lunch that the resort was putting on and that was pretty nice to be around some other people for a couple of hours but that’s about enough time for me being social. All of that being said , I just find holidays are a dead thing in today’s day and age. There is no holiday spirit anymore. There is nothing to look forward to anymore. How can people have any Christmas cheer when the world that we live in today compared to when you and I were growing up in the 80’s and 90’s absolutely sucks. The average person isn’t thinking about buying thousands of dollars in presents for unappreciative family members and their little demon spawns when it takes your whole paycheck to go buy groceries and just survive life. We are lucky to have a career that pays us extremely well and sometimes I wonder how people who are working just basic jobs are even able to survive today, much less buy holiday presents and host holiday gatherings. As I said, I just think overall Holidays are a thing of the past and will never be the same. One thing i noticed this year more then any other , and tell me if you have found this to be true where you live , but never have I seen so few houses and especially businesses even decorated for Christmas. I remember , and I’m sure you do too, that when we were kids and even young adults , loading up in the car and going around and just driving all the fancy neighborhoods just to look at Christmas lights and decorations. Now , you’d be hard pressed to find more than a couple of houses in a neighborhood that put the effort in to decorating. It’s a sad sad and depressing world we live in today that’s for sure and I can’t see it ever getting better. I guess the only hopeful thing to look forward to is that we are on our way out of it and it’s a damn shame to have that perspective on life but I think the decades that you and I grew up in were the peak of human existence. Take care and happy new year.
