Harnessing Your Breath for Core Stability
If there is disc degeneration, it is better to use a weighted belt, to avoid compressing vertebrae any further. Either way, when using the vest, or belt, one should stay "on", thinking "taller", to avoid compressing joints with the added weight. That's why it isn't indicated to wear those things for hours on end; any awkward movement's injury potential is greatly increased when one wears those.
I would not wear a weighted vest if I had a diagnosis of disc degeneration.
This video is a blessing, thank you. So much of what you both said, I kept nodding and jaw-dropping and saying "yup, that's me".
I love your hair ❤️, i have just a small question : I’m told by trainer not to drop the weight on the floor when you go down but hovering it like 3 inches above the ground. Does it matter much ? Thanks
It all depends on your flexibility in terms of your ability to PLACE the weight back down on the ground in a deadlift. There is also the option of not doing a full "gym" deadlift and merely hovering as your trainer suggested. this is particularly good for people whose hamstrings prevent putting the weight on the ground in a neutral spine. Meet your body where it is comfortable.
Sorry i meant the next movement with the understanding my waist, rib, shoulder connection is. making my movements very unsteady what moves mught help so i can do others without difficulty. Yea our ego thinks we should to more and we end up creating more pain.. thank you
Ok, I understand. The hip CAR is very difficult to do correctly. As you point out, we often times want to do more than is truly available to our body. I would recommend doing the HIP Car lying on your side with a bolster behind your bum and waist. does that make sense?
I believe you can help me i have a very hard time getting in then off the floor i did a bad mive, so any tips will help . Where do you suggest u do next this helped a lttle on the floor getting up my ribs hurt very much.
You can do the lying down portion on your bed!
Sorry icant write this to challenging right now,! 😮
Thx much
These workouts are very short, do you not make a full length one?
I do full length workouts for my private clients. My Free You tube channel has anything from 7 minutes to 25 minutes. You can always perform multiple workouts.
Well damn I'm both very impressed and actually motivated. Thank you coach God bless y'all and HOOK EM HORNS & MAGA all the live long day
This is a beginner video for low impact, not for advanced exercisers.
Absolutely true. All my videos are intended for older women with osteoporosis. very few are advanced and I do not share the advanced ones with the general public.
V good exercise to do along to get heart rate up n getting bone strength 👍
I am glad you like it!
❤
The brand of the vest you are wearing please.
Ironwear fitness vest. Although I am now using the Hyper vest Elite. it is more breathable.
I realize this was three years ago but my feed just now sent your content to me. Thanks for taking the time to make this video. So many of us are coping with these issues. Always looking for solutions. Thanks you.
is it safe to go swimming in the vest?
I have not considered it before. Logically, I can see using it for a water aerobics class to create a weight bearing effect. Personally, I believe for me it would possibly alter the mechanics of my swim....not sure my lower back would be happy afterwards. I would ask a PT who knows your body mechanics how they see it impacting your swim.
😂
I am going with no. Drowning could be a side effect.
@@dawnelder9046 drowning could be a side effect… 😂😂😂
This was a good reminder!
Oh my this is good! I just went through physical therapy and we worked on core strengthening. This takes some of it to the next level!
I hope you would add something to this as I have had this scan and the risk of fracture is over 1000 so all these people were told the wrong risk of fracture. They should be divided by 10.
This will be my workout today!
Great information!
Thank you! ❤️
Great channel. You have many videos that I can’t wait to watch and learn from. How should a person get started? Also, if a person is walking every day for six months and doing some upper weight training, would improvement be seen or does it take years? Thanks.
The best place to start is to watch the videos on the best way to hinge and squat. Core exercise for OP is important too because you want to be certain that you are performing weight lifting with good control in the center (core) so that lifting a weight does not disturb your low back or hips or shoulders.
Thank you for only a few gentle lunges! When you do this at home, do you play music in the background? If so, how do you select it?
Hi Sharon, I tend not to play music but I am probably unique. I would select a slower tempo playlist for a cardio that is this gentle and slow. versus the cardio with some hopping I would use some pop or dance music.
That’s a great exercise re hip hinge. 🙏 I’ll certainly be practising it
Excellent review!
Would have been nice had you said the EXACT VEST YOU HAD so that anybody who was looking into getting one would already know at least the one your wearing was a good one! I can't believe you just skipped that in your video....
Bone Boot Camp 3 years ago here it is : ironwearfitness.com/woveaheco1to.html
@@BoneBootCamp ty sooooo much! so many people wanted the one you had because you said it was a good one..Now at least they can have this link....
Thank you for telling us which vest you actual are using in the video. I don’t want to buy a cheap one that I won’t use or that hurts me. Love your video.
I love your videos. I need to make them part of my week!
Thank you Lori!
Will the tube type bands be OK? Thank you
I Sarah. Do you know how to find out which states/cities have echolight scans? I’m in Missouri and having a really hard time finding anywhere that does them. Thanks!
If you go online to echolightmedical.com , you can fill out a contact form and ask for a list in your state.
@@BoneBootCamp thanks!
I was asked to help re-discover ones core after abdominal surgery in an osteoporosis safe way. This is VERY gentle and intuitive. I found that during a serious sinus infection and 3 weeks of down time....this was the only exercise I was able to do!
Can this be done straight on the floor ? As long as neutral is maintained ??
I thought she would answer😗
She said yes, ut , that it can be nore comfortable .
Love this! ❤
Thank you for mentioning the number of times per week to wear a weighted waling vest.
Thank you for this video. It would have been REALLY helpful for the viewer if your shirt was not black and matching the vest. I found it very hard to actually see the vest. Otherwise, great info!
good point, I may redo the video to update what is available and I will keep that in mind.
@@BoneBootCamp Great job! Best wishes :)
