A few fun facts about Bosnia and Herzegovina: 1. The potato "burek" you ate in Sarajevo is not called burek actually. It's called krompirusa. "Pita" or a pie is the name for all the cheese or vegetable stuffed pies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the name "burek" is reserved only for the meat filled pie. 2. The tradition of jumping off the Mostar's old bridge for money collected from the onlookers is almost as old as the bridge itself. An Ottoman Turkish travel writer Evlija Celebija wrote about it in the 16th century on his travels across the Herzegovina. Thank you for visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina. 💙

We've only been to Bosnia in July, so we're not sure if the flowers will still be in bloom in October. It might depend on what the weather is like and if there's been a lot of rain/cold days. Thanks for watching!

You are a wonderful couple and thank you for visiting my homeland, and I'm really sorry that the wrestlers robbed you of your tickets to the cow waterfall! The ticket price is 20 BAM (10 euros). You should have checked the prices online in advance! Unfortunately, corruption is the biggest symptom of the disease called nationalism in my country! Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina who consider themselves Croats prefer Croatia and work for their interests, destroying in every possible way the reputation, economy, security, etc. of Bosnia and Herzegovina, because their goal is to destroy the country, and that part that they ethnically cleansed of all those who did not considered themselves Croats, eventually joined Croatia! That's why I recommend all tourists to inform themselves about the prices in advance!

Hi very interesting video. Was it too cold in December? I see it is not snowy or frosty
It was pretty cold in December, but not too bad (but we're from Minnesota, so we're used to cold weather). We were very comfortable with winter coats, gloves, and scarves. Layers are your friend because it can be windy at times. There wasn't much snow while we were there, but it did rain a lot, so we definitely recommend packing an umbrella or raincoat. Did they have the elf houses on the side of the road still. I remember that from when I was there, they built tiny houses for the elves when I was there. It's like a whole tradition.
We read about that tradition while we were researching for our trip, but once we arrived, we completely forgot to look! It's entirely possible they still do this, but we didn't see any while we were there. Thanks for watching!

We will be visiting in late July and we were wondering how do we arrange for pick up from Nusa Penida port to our hotel? Can you share contact details of the driver who picked you up from the port? We just messaged our Airbnb before we got there to ask them to organize a driver to pick us up from the harbor. When we got off the boat, there was someone holding up a sign waiting for us, it was great. And after we got to the Airbnb, we were able to have them organize a sunrise tour. We highly recommend reaching out to your hotel or your airbnb host to have them help you organize a driver. Is this itinerary doable on mid April?
It really depends on what the weather's like when you visit. Some of the areas might still be covered in snow making for difficult driving (F-roads might not be open at that time of year), and hiking trails might be closed in some areas. That's exactly why we went in September: decent weather and all roads and hiking trails were still open for the season. Thanks for watching!

I like how you keep it real and honest in your vlogs. Karin is definitely keeping the videos alive. Jeremy is so quiet and usually has a frozen smile. Assuming he's very shy or nervous? Still, I enjoy your videos and like that they're not too polished and glamorous, since that's unrealistic for my travel.

Hello! Thanks a lot for the detailed video and itinerary! What week of September were you traveling in? How many hours of daylight did you have each day to explore?
We visited at the beginning of September. Sunrise and sunset were different each day based on the location we were at (sometimes by as much as 30 minutes difference). On average, we had about 13-14 hours of daylight each day. Sunrise was usually between 5:45am - 6:30am, and sunset was usually anytime between 7:45pm - 8:30pm, depending on where we were. We had quite a bit of daylight, but we pushed our itinerary to the max and had to pretty much be on the road by sunrise every day. Which is why this itinerary is much easier to do in the summer because you can stay out later at night instead of waking up really early.

Lovely video! Did you have to pay more to return your rental car in Croatia ?
We're glad you enjoyed it! For the rental car, we had to pay a one-way fee and it was huge ($700 USD) but it's not necessarily because we dropped it off in Croatia, it's because we dropped it off at a place that was different than the location we picked it up. We knew it was going to be expensive to have a one-way rental but it was the best option for our travel plans. It's not always the most affordable option, but we built the expense into our budget so we planned for it. Another great option would be to fly into and out of the same airport (Zagreb would be a great choice) and then save money on the rental car that way. Thanks for watching!

was it in the start or end pf september? I am going to iceland in end of september and trying to understand if its worth to take a 4x4 or F-roads will be already close
We visited at the beginning on September and all highland roads were still open. Many roads may stay open through late September and even into early October, but it's entirely dependent on the weather. If you're at all considering going into the highlands, even if you're not 100% sure, we highly recommend renting a 4x4 just in case. It is more expensive than a regular car, but if the weather works out, you'll be so happy you have it! Plus, many of the regular roads that lead to waterfalls (not even highland roads) are a mess and we were so happy to have a high clearance vehicle for them.
