- Join us as we spend 2 days exploring Prague! We go to the opera, check out Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, visit Christmas markets, and try a lot of tasty food!
On this episode of Mapping It, we spend two days in PRAGUE IN DECEMBER! We start with a tour of our AIRBNB IN PRAGUE and then go to the PRAGUE OPERA! The next day, our first full day in Prague, we get an early start and explore the CHARLES BRIDGE, LENNON WALL, STRAHOV MONASTERY and PRAGUE CASTLE! We try some TRADITIONAL CZECH FOOD at a local pub, and of course we visit the CHRISTMAS MARKETS IN PRAGUE! On our second day, we do a self-guided walking tour of Prague's JEWISH QUARTER. We take a lunch break at a Christmas market and try some delicious roasted ham before heading to the MUCHA MUSEUM. In the evening, we climb to the top of the OLD TOWN HALL for stunning views over the OLD TOWN SQUARE and the Christmas market.
We hope you enjoy coming along on our adventures!

Super nice presentation, and always so positive. Keep on making us discoering plaes with you.
We're glad you enjoyed it! We have many more adventures to come, thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing the history in Prague, Czechoslovakia. Interesting history that I never knew.
We love discovering the history behind the places we visit! It’s so interesting to discover new places!
Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happiest 2024!
Happy holidays to you too, cheers to a happy new year!
How beautiful and interesting! Thank you from Winona for sharing such great area culture! You both are so interesting! My country number is 30 ;-)
Prague is such an interesting city to explore, we had a lot of fun and hope to go back in the future because there's still so much we didn't have time for. 30 countries is a lot, way to go! Hopefully we'll get to that number someday!
You guys are fun!
Thanks for watching!
Fascinating city. A surprising video in Eastern Europe. Thanks for sharing. You should have contacted me many years ago. Sending you peaceful vibes.
We couldn’t agree more, such a fascinating and beautiful place! Thanks for watching!
Charles IV. really didn´t "start" the Prague castle as you said. Prague castle was founded in 880 AD. 500 years before the rule of emperor and king Charles IV. What Charles IV. founded in Prague castle is the St. Vitus cathedral. 🙂
Thanks for clarifying!
This is indeed one of the better First Timer vlogs about Prague. Thanks for not praising the chimney cake („Trdelnik“) as a typical Czech pastry (which is not). But you did praise the Prague Ham, which is one of the notorious tourist traps in Prague (beside the money exchange scams). You‘ll find some videos here on TH-cam explaining it. And are you kidding me by drinking Mirinda (= Fanta) from a bottle in a pub instead of a nice cold Pilsen tank beer??!!
We're glad you enjoyed our video! You have a great point about the Prague ham - we did our research before our trip and knew that we had to specify the weight of the ham when ordering, but we should have included that tip in the video. Prague is so beautiful, we hope to visit again. Thanks for watching!
@@MappingIt OK, that makes sense (and explains the "normal" portion size of your dishes). BUT you really should have mentioned the intended "weigh scam" to prevent others from being ripped off. Maybe you can edit your video respectively.
I'm thinking about going to Prague solo this summer. Is it easy to get around? would you suggest it as a place for a solo traveler?
Prague in the summer sounds like a wonderful trip! It's a perfect city for a solo adventure and it's very easy to get around! We mainly walked places, but we also used the metro and trams to cut down on our walking from time to time. Public transit was pretty easy to figure out and we recommend considering getting a transit pass to make things more convenient for you. We downloaded some google maps of Prague for offline use while we were there and it helped us figure out our directions. We were out at all times of day, including early in the morning and late in the evening and we always felt very safe. There's a lot to see and do in Prague, so if you end up going, you're sure to have a great time!
@@MappingIt thanks so much for your detailed response!
Karin, You need a hat! You were cold! And, you loose your body heat through your head!
Good point, a hat would have been a great idea!
