Almost professional gear & tech reviews, tips and more.
What does semi-professional mean? I don't have formal training or education in film, engineering (audio or otherwise), computer science, etc. I review products and software that I've used or currently use from the point of view of someone who loves to "nerd out" on tech/gear but I'm also not a professional in these fields.
My experience:
+ Content Creator - I've run the @PODinsights channel since 2021 and do all the filming, audio, and editing/post production myself. Feel free to check it out if you want to learn about selling print on demand products on Etsy 😃.
+ WFH Professional - I've had a WFH job since 2019 and use various tech+gear in that space.
+ Gear Nerd - I LOVE audio gear, video gear, pretty much any tech gear. I could talk about it all day and will if you let me.

FlexiSpot E6 Desk Review - The Sweet Spot
The FlexiSpot E6 desk offers a great combination of features and quality for the price, with lots of size and top options. Overall I'm just as happy with it as I am with the E7 desk that I've been using for over a year.

NuPhy Halo65 HE Review - Everyday HE
มุมมอง 3.3Kวันที่ผ่านมา
The NuPhy Halo65 HE is their third hall effect keyboard and it's my favorite so far. It's got a usable layout for daily typing and gaming, and the typing feel is just a tad more comfortable than the Field75 HE. If you want extra buttons & dials, the Field75 HE is still a better option, but the Halo65 HE is the best value in the line in terms of performance for the price. *CHECK OUT THE HALO65 H...

The Lemokey L4 is the second TKL layout in the "L" line from Lemokey, Keychron's gaming brand. It has excellent build quality and great customization options, but it does not have the unique gaming features found on the L1 or L3, which means it doesn't stand out from other TKL's on the market like Keychron's own Q3 Max or the excellent Evo80. *CHECK OUT THE L4* (affiliate links) ⭐️ Lemokey Site...

Saving this on my amazon list :) Thanks for the reviews as always!
Wow!!! Head and shoulders better than any other Micro review I've seen (a lot of them). You cover far more than the others, compare with direct competitors as well as pro kit. I have a Fulaim X5 which I love but I think the Micro gives better audio. Like the Micro it's location affects the audio response (no one else talks about that). Best 6" in front of your mouth which is naff! I use it under my T shirt with the windmuff on. Congratulations. I'm subscribing!!!
Incredible, only nuphy can make such a cool keyboard with Hall of Effect under 90 bucks))
Thanks for this excellent review/overview. I've watched a bunch of reviews of this mic and this is the first one I felt the need to say "thank you". Question: If you or a friend/colleague have an Insta360 X4, can you test to see if the Rode Wireless Micro can be plugged directly into the X4's USB-C port and work? I've tried that with other wireless mics and it doesn't work for me. I find I need to use the X4 adapter to provide power to the mics' receive and then (if the receiver has the feature) transmit audio to the X4 using a short 3.5mm audio patch cable. Thanks
Saved the Lark M2 on my Amazon :) Funny how you made this video as I was beginning to think of doing vlog style things. I appreciate your reviews as always!
I sold my keychron keyboard because of latency
Great review. While I prefer the sound of the Lark M2, the Rode is an overall better buy for smartphone and PC users given Split Recording, High SPL, Secure and easily installed wind muffs, Autogain that works. I actually wouldn't mind buying both the Rode and Lark for different use cases.
The dealbreaker 'stereo mode usb c' is not buy the Lark M2. Splended review :-)
Which sound did you like the most?
numpad is locked, must figure out how to turn the numpad back on. ViA sees the board but does not allow any way to interact with the board it just says authorize but gives no way to do anything.
ordered myself this keyboard with two screens (second screen is just a fun option and i want it) for 95$ i will update this comment once it arrives
For 100$ you just can’t count no wireless as a con, that’s a premium feature + south facing led’s are better in my opinion, because they work well withb side printed shine through keycaps
my friend just ordered his! it's coming on monday 😆😆😆😂😂🤪🤪😜
Hi...can you kindly compare this to the Hollyland Mark 2, I am a big fan of Rode but Hollyland certainly offers a reasonable and practical combo version with very good quality audio. Rode should really introduce a combo version for both the android and lightning version!
Some further thoughts having actually got to the end. I think one possibly significant advantage is the high spl value that the Rode device can handle. I suspect this is close to the best on any such device. Secondly, a general comment about the intelligent gain feature. I suspect that the gain setting in the app affects a stage before the auto part of the gain. So when you set the game to low, the automatic gain following it is not having to work so hard to avoid clipping. Therefore, you would notice its operation somewhat less. The high setting is driving the auto section much harder and so you might notice the compression when you listen afterwards. Once again, a great review. Thanks!
A very thorough review, thanks. Lack of stereo rules out the Lark as far as I am concerned, regardless of any other factor.
Great review, reminds me a bit of Podcastage :)
what are u using to hold the USB-C Hub?
At what point between the age of 44 and 49 does one wake up and think they need to put that hat on
Well, I wish I would’ve seen this video before I purchase just the camera version Hollyland Lark M2. I thought I discovered something that nobody else knew. With the camera version they included a USB-C to USB-C cable and USB-C to lightning cable. And I’m like why would they do this. So I researched online and couldn’t find nothing so I tested it out, plugging it into my android cell phone, and downloaded the app app and to my surprise the microphones worked with my cell phone. So I took the USB-C to lightning cable and plugged in the receiver to my iPhone and my wife’s iPad and it worked with it also. I was under the impression that the combo kit with the other receivers was the only way to use the microphones with cell phones or tablet. But I was fine just using it for my camera. But now if I wanted to do a little interview with my DJI Osmo pocket three, I can plug the receiver in and both of us can talk. I’m not sure if it’s stereo yet. I just picked up the microphones yesterday But I am really happy with the audio quality. I don’t like the size of the dead cat nor trying to get it on. It is a little pain in the ass. But the audio quality is really nice. Two years ago I bought the rode wireless go 2 but I only bought the one microphone with the receiver kit, and I really kick myself in the ass for not buying the full kit. So as I was debating on buying another microphone for that kit, I’ve been seeing so many great reviews about the Hollyland Lark M2. I decided to give it a try and so far very happy. Even happier, I could use it on everything that I own.. thanks for sharing. Great review.
Got the Q3 Max thanks!
holy shit way better
It is huge. Must be heavy
One question about this. I have external recorder Zoom H1n, which is 24bit. If I connect this mic to recorder over 3.5mm, can i get better quality audio, same as USB-C connecting to pc method?
Not shining through? What is this 2012? What is the use of RGB then?
im so happy i just ordered mine !
Can the K17 RGB be backlit with just solid white color? (I usually do not like rgb and the white backlight version is sold out)
yes, it can, white is an option :)
@ went with lofree
What? It doesn't have wireless connection? My order should arrive in few days and I just noticed it.. Probably will sell it and wait for Halo65v2 in black with BT
Layout, absence of wireless and no light color option makes it kinda obsolete (weird situation compared Air60v2). HE low profile switches alone - means there will be other keyboards or, hopefully, NuPhy versions. PS Nice and concise review! Thank you so much.
Thank you for your review. I'm thinking to use the mv7+ as I'm starting to begin my voiceover career. Would that make sense to you? I am also soundproofing my walk in closet.
That sound was beautiful to be ❤
Mine's currently in shipping. This one hit all the points I was looking for in a new keyboard - no wireless (don't have to worry about a battery dying some day, or strange miscommunications over wired mode, ((to elaborate: on some wireless keyboards I've owned from Keychron as well as Nuphy, I keep them plugged in like 95% of the time anyway. Sometimes however I find they lose the ability to communicate over USB if left on for too long / between PC sleep cycles and I have to manually power cycle the keyboards to regain working USB connection.) - a 65% layout with separated arrow keys and nav keys - hall effect switches with full suite of good customization software tools - my desk setup already has a lot of gray and orange on it, so the default styling will fit right in - not priced like a $250+ boutique board (nothing against that I just don't have the budget after other recent upgrades)
Okay I have a question. So I have this mic, and I film around the car scene car have lots of car revving. But my question is, with my niche and audience people want to hear the revving. And even when I ride in someone’s car. What settings do I need to have it set to so the revving doesn’t clip the audio? And second, when I’m riding in someone’s car and want to reduce the wind noise, what setting should it be set too for that?
1:11 error: it doesn't give you a knob.
I just placed O rings on mine. They helped with the sound, and because they are bananas with a high actuation point, the feel hasn't been impacted much at all, except for the backspace key and the enter key, for some reason. I kept them stock.
Thanks for your review (follow up)! One of the things I was wondering about that they mention on the website, is that the regular c7, the max, and the pro max all come with the underseat foot rest; is that the case? Maybe you cover it in your initial review.
it does have 2.4 GHz
no wireless no buy - read that NUPHY
Im starting to look into custom keyboards. Thank you for this video.
I just picked up one of the Tyrian models from Mechanical Keyboards. This is one of the best keyboards I have ever had - especially for the price. I might buy the Scarlet version before they can't be found anymore. I feel like the cons in this video are *extremely nitpicky* - albeit the power button hidden under the Caps Lock Key is definitely weird. I haven't taken any keycaps off yet, so I haven't noticed this. But, I would have definitely questioned it if I went down that route.
It’s perfect for me. Love low -roiled and this is the nicest one I’ve used
Can I replace a layer to firm it up? I am not a fan of mushy keys, but it looks like a nice keyboard otherwise.
hey always enjoy videos, thank you!
they also come out with a 75% of the NuPhy Air
I ordered one with the coral switches.. did i bought the wrong one?
which one works with mac mini 2020 M 1 and ipad air 2024- use for both and what additional parts are needed if any. Thanks
The good 65% layout with the blocker. Other brands tend to have 4 keycaps in between the spacebar and arrow cluster; which makes it look cluttered imo. Great review!
Lofree sounds very creamy indeed, but The "MOSS" Switches are exactly what I needed to make up my mind & go with the Nuphy.
I hope they make a 75 HE that doesn't look so big 😢 Will there ever be a wireless version
I love how you mentioned the different it serves in the L line i wish you went more deeper into details about that cos honestly its really confusing
