Abseiling into Nympho cave at Mt Maroon

One heck of an adventure, please do your research before attempting this hike. Abseiling is always risky, the scramble up to the top is pretty difficult and quite exposed. Nevertheless if you are a capable and able then I can highly recommended this hike as abseiling into Nympho cave was an amazing experience.
Starting at the carpark we followed the route to the hiker's cave until we saw the ridgeline to Nympho cave, from there we contour around the base of the cliff face until we hit a steep gully heading up with the cave on our right, once we ascended as far as we could we headed to the right leading us directly below Nympho caves, from here is a steep and moderate scramble with lots of exposure to the top of the cave (abseiling point). The whole abseil requires 70m of rope, approx 50m to get into the caves and a further 20m to get down to the forest floor.

Elevation: 1000 m
Elapsed Time: 6.5 hours
