As an Aussie knitter I’d love to hear more about ways we can adapt patterns to suit our weather more. Especially about the yarn choices that work well for our climates. I’ve followed a few knitters in California because it’s probably the closest but even then it can be expensive to source similar yarn here in Aus. I know there will be other beginners who may not have heard anything about it and may not be able to find Aussie channels talking about it.

Omg yes please share your tips for hot weather adaptions! I don’t live in a hot climate but I do work in a massive open plan office which is always roasting. I’d love to be able to wear my knits to work as sometimes the only reason I leave the house is to go to work 😂. Oh and for ribbing on summer knits I quite like broken rib as it looks a little more Lacey and decorative than the sweater looking ribbing.

A small dollop of hair conditioner in the rinse water can help with prickly yarn

The principles for adapting patterns would be fabulous! There are all different reasons why having lighter knits work better; menopause included!

Congratulations on the birth of your baby! Off topic but I saw the redwall book series on the shelf behind you and it brought a lot of nostalgic memories for me. I used to love reading them in high school.

As to your adaptation to warmer weather knits, put it out and those who want to can learn from it and others can skip it. Although! Even experienced knitters can pick up valuable tips when seeing something familiar addressed in a new way. I say, go for it!

Don’t know if this has been said already so ignore if so. Try wrapping your yarn under the needle when doing a purl. It tightens up the stitch. The one thing to remember is that stitch will be oriented differently on the next row and require you to knit into the bk of the stitch. Fixed my rowing out completely! Good luck.

Congrats. The first one doesn't always go to plan. My first son's birth was a wild ride with an emergency c-section and over a week in hospital and more. But it all worked out well and his wife is expecting their second child in June. Yes, I'd like to see your video - I am terrible at adapting the patterns and every little bit helps.
