I like when people discuss why they are or aren't monogamous knitters. It's fun to see how different people approach knitting differently. No right or wrong ways just what works for them. I'm mainly a monogamous knitter. I think there are only two times where I had two projects on the go at the same time. The first time I cast on a second project while the first project was waiting for me to get a needle to be able to seam up the project. The second time was recently when I planned to knit a beanie on a work trip and cast it on too early, realised I would be finished with it before the trip, put it to the side and cast on a pair of socks.
This is a great conversation for knitters! I have ADHD and started out as a non-monogamous knitter. I would get bored or frustrated or just need something new and would even pull needles out of an existing project to start the new one. I rarely finished anything. I knit on and off for years that way. Last year I picked knitting up again after a long hiatus and decided to be monogamous. If I made an error, I forced myself to FIX it instead of starting something new. I started finishing things and trying more new things. It was great! And after about 6 months of finishing everything I started, now I allow myself more projects. I have one I work on at home in the evenings, one that lives at my office for days I knit at lunch during work, and one that lives in my home office to knit while I'm in meetings that don't require too much attention. As I finish a project, I advance things that haven't gotten a lot of time, so one of the work projects becomes my main evening project and I cast on something else to replace it. Like you, three things seems to be a good number for me.
I am a monogamous knitter. I really want to have the item I am knitting and to see my progress towards the finished item really motivates me! And unlike many in the knitting community, I love sleeves! I really see progress when I work on a sleeve ... just a few rounds and the sleeve looks half way to finished : )
Hi Nadine. I used to be a monogamous knitter. My mind just wanted to focus on finishing a project before starting another. Then I found myself having a project to work on in the evenings watching television, then another that I took to knit night (mindless), then a hat because I knit chemo hats for charity and before I knew it, I was no longer monogamous. However, I usually still only have around 3-4 projects going at any given time. I also keep my focus on one garment, one hat and one other project like a shawl. Currently, my WIPs include a summer tee, two shawls (one I started for a recent trip to Italy --- needed plane knitting and one I am knitting as a KAL for my knit group --- trying to stay within their schedule) and one hat for my chemo group. This is manageable. Anything more than 3-4 and my anxiety would be too high :)
Hi Nadine, I never had multiple WIPs until I discovered TH-camrs who do!! Now, with 8 grown up kids and 6 grandbabies I am always juggling knits, crochets and cross stitches to crazy deadlines and yes, it can get quite stressful at times. But it's also fun and soo satisfying to keep trying new things and surprising ppl with unexpected hand made gifts. 🤩
I’ve limited myself to one or two in the past but recently ended up with 5 WIPS, all of which required thinking. As a consequence I felt overwhelmed and didn’t want to do any of them. I’m gradually getting back to one small non-thinking project for travel, waiting rooms etc, one crochet project and one knitting project, both of which at present are garments. I find knitting and crochet affect my shoulder and elbow injuries differently so doing a bit of each activity minimises my soreness. Everyone has to find what works for them and makes them happy.
I went in to the world of too many WIPS at the end of 2022, and it hit me hard in the beginning of 2023….. I suddenly went from “ooh, lots of projects to choose from” to “ugh, have to finish something!” Now, I have one project that I work on while at home, a hat or pair of socks in the bag that I carry when I leave the house, and a scrappy blanket that gets worked on when I have the scraps to put into it! That overwhelmed feeling was enough to steer me away from having too many WIPS. Yarn is my relaxing hobby, not my point of stress 😊
A new viewer here. I loved the added ‘knit & chat segment’. I found it very relaxing. I think I have found my sweet spot of # of projects~ 3 or 4. One being a garment, one a shawl for my church prayer shawl group, another either a sock, hat, or mitt, and then one mindless knit for the car or for social knitting. It can be a balancing act. I want my knitting to be relaxing, not stressful. Great episode ❤
Your baby blanket looks wonderful! Such a lovely gift. I enjoyed your knit chat. 💕 Sometimes I am a monogamous knitter but I usually have a main project and one that’s portable and easy to work on. My grab and go project is usually sock knitting. Once I have more than 3 unfinished projects I start to feel a little uneasy. 😊
I used to have a shawl, and a garment at the same time, then that left room for a gift/socks. That kind of kept me time to think carefully about all the inspiring projects/knitting that I see all the time. And what I may begin next. Love you videos Nadine 🙂
I know what you are saying regards monogamous knitting compared with multiple projects😊. I find having a crochet blanket on the go with a knitting project is my best approach. Thank you for a lovely podcast.
I am very much a mood knitter and I go between being a monogamous/polygamous knitter. I am just happy to go with the flow and how I feel. I might be the odd one out here but I love the sound of the needles clicking it’s so relaxing for me and a bit ASMR.
Great topic for a knit & chat! I really like these videos. While I don’t like the sound of metal needles when I knit myself, the soft ticking in the background of yours sounds soothing and cozy 😊 I’m sort of in between many projects and a monogamous knitter/crocheter. I get so excited about new projects that I start a bunch, then get overwhelmed with the amount of projects and then start working on them one at a time 😂 What I’ve been doing recently is writing down per month what I would like to have done. I’m getting better at being realistic what I can make each month. They’re not goals, just intentions. So if I don’t make it, it’s not a big deal, but it does help to motivate me. I also always need a mindless easy project, like a sock or an easy crochet blanket, to pick up in the evenings when I’m out of brain power to focus on something. I also like the 30 minutes a day approach that the Crazy Sock Lady and Knitty Natty do. If you want to make progress on one of your projects, knit on that for 30 minutes a day and then do something else. I’ve used that to get through tough parts, like the last centimeters on a blanket when I’m just burned out from it.
I am recently a non-monogamous knitter in the last couple years as well. I used to just work on 1 project and if I didn't feel like working on it, I just didn't knit. I have to say, knitting pod asts have had an influence on me and now I have 2 or 3 projects going at a time and knit more than I used to. It is nice to have a more involved project and a simpler one to fit different times and moods. And sometimes a 3rd one as well.
Love your videos! I find three projects is a good number of WIPs for me - one challenging that requires my attention, one tv/conversation knitting like your baby blanket or a sequence knitting project, and one travel project like a sock or hat. When I cast on a new project I sometimes think about varying yarn weight to give my hands a rest. I agree too many WIPs is overwhelming - like anything else in life - too much is too much! Happy knitting! PS - go neutral in permanent items (tile and vanity) then add easily changed color with towels, paint and accessories that can easily be changed. This tip is especially helpful to prevent your reno from looking dated when you go to sell years from now.
Hey from rural West Australia, Love your knit and chat format! I am new to your youtubes, and am loving them. This topic is one I have just started really dealing with. Once, mostly due to finances, I was a strictly monogamous knitter. That remained true even when finances allowed more leisure spending, but somewhere in the last 10 years things went off the rails.I suspect when I retired early from the workforce! I have so many WIPS, and kept buying more and more yarn, beyond reasonable usage. Like others who commented, earlier this year, I started feeling totally overwhelmed by my yarn stash/WIPS, and had to come up with a plan to deal with what was now causing me more anxiety than pleasure. I have now sorted all yarn into labelled bags, the WIPS also have a bag including original pattern. I am proud to say I have recently completed a long-standing WIP, sure it only needed the button bands, but there was always something more exciting to start.I also frogged 3 projects that were probably left to sit because I didn't think enough about the yarn, or style of pattern, and actually didn't like anymore. They will be allowed to mellow a while before I re-think their destiny.
Sorry for the tragically late reply, I’m still catching up on some comments - but thank you for your comment! The descent from monogamous knitting to having a huge amount of WIPs happens quickly doesn’t it 😂😅 it’s great to hear you’ve made some progress on your WIPs though, you’ve inspired me to pick up one of my long (LONG) term wips after this!
I continue to love your videos…it is such fun to hear your thoughts, joys, ways of thinking and wondering. I am definitely not one to focus on one project at a time, but am trying to work through a mix of wips and new projects. I find that if I think too much about the number of things I have going it adds a bit of unwelcome stress and anxiety in a part of my life that I want to be a source of joy. I really enjoyed your perspective!
When I first started knitting I only had on project at a time. Now I usually have a sock (for on the go), sweater or a summer tank/tee, and a cardigan. And each one I knit until I get to a key point like finish the yoke or the body then I switch to the next project and get that one to a key point and just keep switching back and forth. For me it keep the project moving and still changes it up a bit. Thanks for another great episode.
I like to have 4 projects on the go. A couple of challenging ones and a couple of vanilla projects (socks/hats). Then I can alternate between them and also needle size for hand comfort.
I came back to knitting earlier this year after a break of about 20 years. Previously, I was definitely a monogamous knitter and on returning to knitting I did start out the same way, but it hasn't continued. I haven't had more than three though, and one of those was a quick weekend hat KAL which I wanted to join in. I have two projects very nearly finished and I'm then going to cast on another hat and a garment. I want to keep it manageable!
I used to be a monogamous knitter. I went through a time period where I cast on new things every time I got bored or stuck on a project and then I had so many that I became overwhelmed. Ended up frogging like 6 projects. Now I tend to have a bigger project that I know will take a while and a smaller mindless project for those times when I just want to knit and not think. I also try and pay attention to needle size, needle type, or whether I’m knitting in the round or flat so that I’m not swapping between projects that put the same strain on my body. So no socks while knitting sleeves. No shawl while I’m knitting on a flat knit cardigan, etc. My current projects are socks on 1mm needles and a cabled hat on 8mm needles. One is mindless but harder on my hands, the other requires a lot of focus but is super easy on my hand and joints. I have gotten a high as 4 at a time but I start to stress me out and I end up becoming a monogamous knitter on 1 project at a time until they are all done.
Hi Nadine. I started out as a monogamous knitter: I would only buy that garments yarn (and it would always be a garment) and knit on that til it was finished. Many years later and I find that I get very excited about planning a project, choosing yarn and colour etc. I get part way through and either become a bit stuck with something, when I set it aside and start on something new....etc etc, which means that I now have many wips. Or not even wips but hibernating projects. This is beginning to become a thing that I don't like. I feel I should either try and finish a wip or frog it. That said, I tend to these days work on 2 or 3 things at a time. I have a couple of things that are simple knits: my brain gets a bit fuzzy and more challenging stuff feels beyond me right now. I have a cardigan that I really want to finish for the autumn (UK). I like the notion of 3 things on the go, complete one and pick up a long forgotten wip to either complete or frog. Decision making and to be a but more intentional. Your podcast makes me think more about my motivations and I like that alot. Thank you. :)
I do have multiple projects on the go, one easy ot small project for knitting on my bus commute. one either more complex or larger project for home knitting, something simple to knit when in company, and one or two that are in time out due to decisions that need to be made or calculations required. I think sometimes I am sucked in by a knit along. thanks Stephen West! I finished last year's on Dec 29 2023, but 2022 was not turning out how I liked it so am turning it into a cardigan but that requires brain space so it's on hold. I have completed my Dolly cardigan started 2022 by end of April and did a test knit Gingerbliss cardigan in 6 weeks monogamous, so felt justified to start a waist coat and a double time cardigan. I have today set the timer for 30 minutes, so will work on one project next 30 a household chore, next 30 the other project. I need to get one of these projects to a stage I can knit them on the bus tomorrow.
It sounds like you have the perfect balance of projects and a method to keep it all moving! Love the 30min timer idea 🙌🏻 I hope you manage to get your project ready for the bus in time!
Thanks for the chat! I was definitely monogamous when I first started knitting. Looking back I am not sure when I started knitting multiple projects, but I do know that I have gone through "phases" where I put restrictions on myself, or maybe I can think of them as finishing incentives, where I would tell myself I can cast on something new as soon as I finish one of my projects. I don't do that as much now--only if I have a deadline for a test knit, gift, etc. If I really am not interested in working on something, I don't. Sometimes that could mean that it languishes and eventually is frogged. But I do take stock of my WIP pile now and then and give some thought to whether or not I think I will return to them or not. So I would say that I am in my "knit what brings you joy " phase currently. And sometimes, if I want to knit but nothing looks enticing (like wanting to snack but nothing looks inviting), that's okay and I can do something else. Or just go to bed 😂
As a crocheter, I used to have around 6 wips. Since I turned to knitting I have had just one project at a time up until recently. Now I have 2 x Ranunculus, one is to try the pattern with some old acrylic/wool mix and one I've just cast on in Drops Air. I'm also making my 2nd Cancun boxy boho top in Stylecraft bamboo and cotton. I'm hoping to complete the Cancun top before casting on the Emmanuel top in King Cole Finesse cotton/silk but the temptation is strong with this one! I suggest putting a stitch marker in and then having a target for progress each week. I've been looking forward to your podcast. ❤
I like to have 3-4 projects on the go. I have my "upstairs knitting" (in my living room) and my "basement knitting" (where our tv is). I also have my mindless 'on the go' knitting which goes everywhere with me usually a simple hat. I give away a lot of hats! And I usually have a baby gift knit on the go! I also dye my own wool which I love to do but you can dye wool a whole lot faster than you can knit it up! The stash is real! Love your videos...I enjoy watching them when I'm "basement knitting' 😆
Hi! I'm an Australian knitter with a knitting podcast as well. And I also work full-time and like knitting garments. What I decided to do is plan a bunch of projects at the beginning of the year and put them all in their own project bags with needles and pattern in the bag. Then I'll keep them all next to the couch. I find this way, I can easily grab a project that is at a point where I can do car knitting on the weekends. Otherwise, if I just work on one project at a time, sometimes the project is not at a easy place to make it portable.
@@YourKnittingBestie I was happy to discover yours as well! TH-cam likes to promote the same podcasts over and over but one day yours popped up. I hope you finish your blanket in time, it's looking nice 🌸
Haha i have a row counter as well. But here most people have one to count their mantras and prostrations. No one uses them for knitting . I don't overthink my amount of wips too much. But I tend to have a small amount. I travel a lot and many month just live out of hand luggage. So you can't have too many wips anyway. But sometimes it's necessary. Right now I have 4 projects. 2 crochet and 2 knit. The crochet ones are toys and need small pieces. So only for home. And the one knitting project is a stiffer cotton so i can't work on it for too long. So i cast on something else yesterday. I have worked on 3 of them today. Have a great day.
It’s funny because I have recently gone the opposite way. I was more of a product knitter and would cast on everything all the time- for years! 2023 was a tough year for me mentally and I really didn’t knit at all. Now I’m back at it and I find that I am becoming more of a process knitter, I am knitting monogamously, and I’m trying to keep a much much smaller stash. It feels much better for me, less stressful!
Wonderful! How interesting to hear how your knitting has changed. It sounds like you have a great approach to get the most enjoyment out of your knitting :)
I marvel at people who can knit or crochet non monogamously. Every time I do this, I end up with projects in hibernation. With one exception, I try to find a new project for our monthly doctors appointment trips for my husband. We travel 8 hours round trip. So I need something started that is an easy to remember repeat and also portable. So blankets or garments stay home unless I’m at a point I can work repetitive stitches flat or in the round. The travel projects have to be something easier to complete in less than a week so when we return home I have a FO and can jump right back into my larger more difficult pattern. I have learned my lesson well since I have at least four crochet projects in hibernation.
I'm a monogamous knitter, however I do have a scarf on my needles that I've been working on for years. I just nibble on it from time to time a row here a row there. If my main project gets too big to take with me or gets too complicated, then I pick-up my scarf and do a couple of rows. Love your podcasts. Thanks!
As a knitter and crocheter I usually have one knit and one crochet project on the go. I've found if I get more than three projects I get overwhelmed and can't do any crafting. I do have some long-term projects, but I don't work on them to often, they don't count. I usually have a p of socks, an amigurumi and one more project. At the moment it's the Afrato Cowl that will go into my gifts box. Love the baby blanket. I have a crochet one. I don't think I have worked on it recently. Might be time to dig it out! Hope the bathroom choices are going well. We have just done ours in grey, black, white and a vibrant teal. I love it!!! xxJane 🐑🌼
Just discovered your channel today so I’m watching them all. You’re doing a great job with them and I enjoy watching your videos. I’ve got similar taste so plan to make some of the garments you have made and modelled. Sharyn from Melbourne
Ooh, you could try a video that compares a knitting mood board and the thinking behind it to a bathroom mood board. Or not, as you prefer. Lovely to see you. Thoroughly enjoy the needle sound. Gorgeous blanket. ☺️
Hi Nadia, Thankyou for your videos, I do look forward to them. In my earlier knitting years I enjoyed monogamous knitting, I wonder if it was because of the high learning curve, the extra strong desire to see that one knit finished and the 100% focus it required to knit that stockinette vest. I started branching out more out of need. I wanted to knit everytime I stopped, knitting helped me relax so much. I dont drive and often have carry everything in a day pack, or a handbag when I take out my little shopping cart. Transporting a half knit jumper wasnt easy. I wasnt into socks (Im knitting my first pair now though, my new travel knit solution which I really have been rebelling fighting against for too long). So I found myself casting on multiple projects just to have something at its early stages, and preferably with garter or stockinette, I just cant focus in public spaces. I have found it a challenge, I dont like too many projects. I begin to feel overwhelmed at 4+. I need something for the mind, when Im alert and restless, something for outings for portability and stress relief, something for potato chip, t.v knitting, and something for someone else (a gift knit, because I just dont feel right if Im not knitting something for someone besides me). My gift knitting is currently crochet though, amigurumis, they also take all of my attention. They get my love in the mornings if I have an hour free to commit to them. I found I cant deadline my gift knits, if I do it takes the joy out of the giving. My current portable is my first pair of socks because I got weary of not being able to find a portable project. Im also sock knitting in front of the tv when my other projects are too mentally demading, I have a long term log cabin blanket for that too (I dont count that in my 4 though). And my middle of the road happy, little bit of pretty, is a lace and garter stitch shawl. Im currently obsessed with shawls. As I write this, a garment on the needles would be nice, but that really would be my cut off and is more desired because Im in Melbourne in well and truely in knit and wear mode. I think it really needs some stategy, but like you Im in my happy place somewhere in the middle. I also take the approach of must get rid of wip before casting on something new, it can get addictive casting on, but can also get to a point where nothing gets completed. I do need that feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day or I loose my motivation, and theres nothing like that feeling of starting with a couple of open spaces, I put in the effort. I hate to admit it but even knitting needs that extra push, but when I give it, I doubly enjoy that next cast on. Happy click clacking, Tara
Thanks for your wonderful comment! It was great to read about how you approach your projects. I totally agree with deadlines taking the joy out of gift knitting - I've found the same thing!
I have that shawl still languishing in my wip pile. Hahaha 😆 but I do have intentions to pick it up after I finish my current sweater. Socks are always nice on the side
Maybe you could place your projects in different locations, like a soothing one at your bedside, a pair of socks or a hat in the car, and a project that requires concentration near a chair with a lamp nearby.
I have several projects going. I always like to have something mindless for road trips and waiting rooms. This is how I move passed that moment in a top down sweater, where you have all those stitches. I remind myself that if I can get the sleeves separated, I have a simple stockinette project for those times when I don't want to think too much. I don't know if you are familiar with a knit podcast called Wool, Needles, Hands. She has a very interesting video about how to archive projects. That might be a good option for you if you're feeling overwhelmed by projects.
Oooo that sounds like a useful video, I'll definitely have to look that one up! I do love Wool Needles Hands - she's a wonderful podcast host and so knowledgable.
it's an interesting topic. i have 19 wips at the moment, about 6 of them i would consider active WIPs and the rest are in hibernation. i always have a pair of vanilla socks on the go for public transport knitting, and then other projects of varying size, complexity and time commitment for whatever i feel like at the time. one thing that does worry me with some of my extremely long term WIPs is that my tension might drift a lot over time, so that if I was to return to a very old WIP i might have a lot of difficulty matching the tension.
Ooooo yes I know what you mean. And also, if I take the needles out and I haven't made a rav page or anything, I often forget what size needle I was using if I hibernate a project for too long!
Im a mixed mono/poly ogamous knitter ha ha! I have a few started then one takes my attention for a long while until done often, then i drio back to the others or, if they aren't catching me, i cast on a new one! Like others here, i am multicraftual, but monogamous for my other crafts! (Dressmaking amd spinning) Id live sto see all your wips, dont forget, it is allowed to hibernate or frog projects! As for travelling, i always have a sock in the car as well as a bag project for out and about! Id love to see "all" ofntour wips! So enjoying you amd your channel!
Well I’ve never been monogamous but my problem is even more complicated because I also have. crochet and cross stitch wips. I’ve just accepted that I’ll always be juggling. I tend to prioritize those with deadlines like gifts and work others in as I go. I’m an attorney in Texas so I’m used to deadlines, as are you I’m sure. I was curious what kind of law you practice. I am an appellate attorney for criminal cases. Anyway, love your videos and projects. Good luck with the remodel!
I was once a manogamous knitter. My granddaughter was due July 9th. But arrived 4 June @ 1.7kg. So the pressure is on to finish her knits but as she is so small, the knits are way too big. 2nd knit a linen dress to finish before overseas October trip with lace pattern 250sts. Plus another top. So Im up at 6am before work to knit every spare second. My covid yarn stash is so bad, it will need to be cremated with me as I will never be able to knit all my stash. Will go up in a big poof!🔥
Hahah oh my gosh you really got me with that last bit - hysterical!! I think I will have some to take with me too 😜 250 Sts, gosh you sure do have a lot of knitting ahead!! I admire your dedication with the 6am starts!!
I struggle with multiple knitting. I have 4 WIPs, but I work only on one. I would love to go back to monogamist knitting as I focused only on one project after all, and the rest is waiting...
I am a monogamous knitter, however I sometimes do cast on another project and work a few rows to see how it looks but then put it away until I have finished the other, I also design beading patterns so my knitting has to fit in with this and I think too many knitting projects would just be overwhelming for me. I do have a friend that works on several projects at a time and alternates between them and I do see that perhaps there are benefits ergonomically for your hands by changing from larger needles to smaller needles?
I'm unfaithful to not only a single project but also to a single craft: knitting, crochet, tunisian, patchwork, cross stitch or many others! I'm so ashamed. 😞
I'm not sure if you have heard of The Crazy Sock Lady,Kay. She has a system of working on certain projects for a set amount of time each day. That way work gets done on each item. Maybe you can make this work for you,to get through all your wips.
The manufacturer’s website gives these instruction for care of the Fiddlesticks Superb 8: Warm machine wash / Do not bleach / Dry flat / Do not iron / May be dry cleaned
I have been knitting for 40 years and have always been a monogamous knitter but I've been toying with the idea of getting two projects on the needles. I really hate the idea of languishing wips so I probably won't ever have more than 2 going at one time.
I can't be an monogamous knitter, I just can't do it! I'm an autie with a side serve of adhd, so the adhd part needs all the projects! With each wip I'm working on, I'm already thinking about the next project, which means 7 wips have 7 future projects, lol. I do leave complicated wips for my insomnia knitting time and have easy knits or my Saturday knit & natter group. I watch the Crazy Sock Lady, she often talks about knitting while walking on the treadmill. I thought how efficient that was, knitting and exercising at the same time! However, having done that, I don't recommend if you have poor hand and eye coordination.........lol. I do have my afterwork knitting project and after dinner knitting project. I love the design of the baby blanket and the colour too, and I didn't hear the sound of the metal needles clacking...... Thanks for another lovely episode.
Hahah oh my goodness I think my treadmill knitting would be atrocious! But I agree, love the idea of getting two things done at once... Thank you for popping by :)
I like to keep my knitting to a selfish knit and a gift knit. Then I sew bags and clothes too. I enjoy making project bags for my makes. Lol Also, my advice to you is knit for you not TH-cam. I know I personally don't mind extra info since I'm a 1 year knitter. I need lots of help.
I have two thoughts on polygamous knitting - there’s part of me that wishes I could have multiple projects, but the other part of me is struck with anxiety when I see people’s gazillion projects! Hahaha! I am very much a “ooh, I forgot about that…!” person. If something is out of sight it is so far out of mind. When I find those projects I have to frog them back because there’s no way I can accurately figure out where I was up to… because I don’t write notes… because I think I’ll remember… but I don’t. I don’t remember. I’m a lying liar anytime I tell myself I will. And so I’ve learned - I cannot successfully do polygamous knitting - I’m monogamous by necessity.
Hahaha I'm right there with you on the anxiety over massive WIP piles! And also on thinking that my mind is a steel trap and totally forgetting every detail 😂
I like when people discuss why they are or aren't monogamous knitters. It's fun to see how different people approach knitting differently. No right or wrong ways just what works for them.

You certainly have a lot happening!! But the best feeling to be able to gift a knit to a loved one 🥰
Welcome! Thanks so much for your comment - it's great to hear from knitters with a similar approach.
Your baby blanket looks wonderful! Such a lovely gift.
I enjoyed your knit chat. 💕
Sometimes I am a monogamous knitter but I usually have a main project and one that’s portable and easy to work on. My grab and go project is usually sock knitting.
Once I have more than 3 unfinished projects I start to feel a little uneasy. 😊
Thank you! 3 sounds like the perfect number of WIPs to me 😊
I used to have a shawl, and a garment at the same time, then that left room for a gift/socks.
While I don’t like the sound of metal needles when I knit myself, the soft ticking in the background of yours sounds soothing and cozy 😊
I’m sort of in between many projects and a monogamous knitter/crocheter. I get so excited about new projects that I start a bunch, then get overwhelmed with the amount of projects and then start working on them one at a time 😂
What I’ve been doing recently is writing down per month what I would like to have done.
These are wonderful tips!! I'm totally adopting the 30min approach for my baby blanket - absolutely genius.
Love your approach!! And thank you so much for the tips on the bathroom colours - I think what we've (nearly) decided on should fit that approach!
Love your process!! Keeps things interesting but also keeps the momentum going 🙌🏻
I like to have 4 projects on the go. A couple of challenging ones and a couple of vanilla projects (socks/hats). Then I can alternate between them and also needle size for hand comfort.
Having different needle sizes is so smart!!
The 'or just go to bed' had me cackling 😂 The knit what brings you joy phase sounds like the best phase to be in!!
I love that your house is full of projects stashed in different places!!
@@YourKnittingBestie HA..I wished my husband loved it too! 🤣
Hello! I can’t wait to see your podcast 😁 the pre planned project bags is absolutely genius 👌🏻
I love it!!!
xxJane 🐑🌼
Your bathroom sounds stunning!!
Just discovered your channel today so I’m watching them all. You’re doing a great job with them and I enjoy watching your videos. I’ve got similar taste so plan to make some of the garments you have made and modelled. Sharyn from Melbourne
Hello Sharyn and welcome!! I'm so glad you're enjoying my videos 😊🩷
Ooh, you could try a video that compares a knitting mood board and the thinking behind it to a bathroom mood board. Or not, as you prefer.
Lovely to see you.
Thoroughly enjoy the needle sound. Gorgeous blanket.
☺️
Ooo that's a fun idea!!
Happy click clacking,
Tara
Thanks for your wonderful comment! It was great to read about how you approach your projects. I totally agree with deadlines taking the joy out of gift knitting - I've found the same thing!
I have that shawl still languishing in my wip pile. Hahaha 😆 but I do have intentions to pick it up after I finish my current sweater.
Socks are always nice on the side
😆😆😆😆 we’ll get to it eventually!!
Hello Lady! Lovely to see you chatting us up again. I can’t craft and talk so good luck with that 😂.
Hello! 🩷 Oh my gosh it’s so much more difficult than I thought it would be 😂
My name is Nadine to. Not to many of us. Lovely to meet you.
What a wonderful name 😉 Great to meet you as well!!
I am also from Brissie ! I am enjoying your podcasts very much, I mainly knit tiny toys ❤
I’m so glad to hear it!! I’ve never attempted a toy before but I love the look of the knitted ones 🩷🩷
I love 'multicraftual' 😂😂 thank you for the suggestion, I've just filmed a video on all of my wips!
I luv your podcast and all your projects 😀What is the name of the baby blanket pattern ~so pretty 🤩
I don’t like to have more than 2 projects going at a time. I like to knit on one in the morning and the other at night!
You’re so talented!!! You must have so many beautiful projects 😍
@@YourKnittingBestie got lots and lots of wips, but not many finished projects! 😊
Thank you so much!!
Lol
Also, my advice to you is knit for you not TH-cam.
@@YourKnittingBestie The lies we tell ourselves… 😔😂
