I just wish you would run this amplifier to a lower ohm on your dyno test ? Several people has this amplifier right here and run it to a half a ohm !... I would like to know what can of power it puts out total ! ...
Very cool 🤙
@@Chris-B-Bassin thanks Chris!
So yeah... where do we buy?
@@daniels1st eBay. Just search for Welsh Audio
This video is one of the biggest reasons that I actually ordered this amp it is on the way through ups at this moment I am going to be running it to 2:12 mofo type s 2 ohm speakers. I am also going to be running the pioneer GM 1000 w 4 channel to my door speakers. 2004 Monte carlo. We'll take a video when I hook it all up. Thank you for your videos. I enjoy your channel.
@@TomMcclain-zj3xu thanks Tom, that’s awesome! That’s gonna sound good!

@@DustmanDiagnostics2 it is! Thanks Dustin!
Hey, I’d be interested if you taught how different grounding methods work and rail to rail oscillation when you hook up your battery ground with the signal ground on a skar rp 2000.1d. It could be an awesome review and everyone will get a cool explanation and understanding!
I have used the Rockford Fosgate R2-500x1 for over a year in my Honda and recently replaced it for the R2-750x1 on dual 10” Kicker Gold Comp subs!#🔊🔥
@@bondalero0074 they’re awesome amps!
I had that same Pyle of shit on 2-8” subs they where knocking hard until i wired my subs for 1 ohms and blew everything
Aw man. Yeah, this one was weak!
man why are you smacking your lips constantly? god it makes watching your videos super difficult with that major annoyance!!! I appreciate what your video is about but i cant keep watching.
@@Acestrex it’s all for you! You’re welcome!
I just bought one of these and I luv it it's more powerful than one thinks and it don't take up any space I'm pushing one 12" nvx n series d2 in a custom downfire box ported and it is unreal the sound and bass it pushes out I'm glad u reviewed this Amp now I know how much power it makes thank you so much keep up the great vids
@@patrickfitzgerald9581 no problem, thanks! That sounds like a system where you’ve got the amp/sub paired up nicely. I bet it does sound good!
Bro, 10 years before I got back into car audio. My brother was running hifonics 2400.1 zues and I also went around bragging about how I wanted one. So, when I finally decided to get my system, I went with hifonics. I was super disappointed, and amp didn't last long. But that was probably my fault
@@bennyblanco14 that stinks! What did you get afterwards?
@stereomojo well, like I said, this was years ago so after, like many others, went all Skar Audio. Ran that for about 3 years but got introduced to SQ so, I sold everything and now I run tru technology, Helix, and audiofrog..hopefully this year I make it out to compete...how about you?
I had one back in the day. It was the first amp I ever had. I had it pushing a 15" kicker comp in a over sized seald box. It was in a 87 toyota truck with a flat top on the back. It was was ported to the cab from the bed, and it hit pretty hard. Vary clean bass. I say a new one would around 150 watts or more. Ah the good old days :)
@@DavePhillips-r5m that sounds like a pretty cool system!
Anyone think this would be too much for p1s
What’s the rms rating on those? Also, how many ohms are they?
Hey think of it this way you found the weakest link in an already good amp, just get it repaired and it should be better than new. I personally would just replace all those transistors on that side, when they burn they usually wanna take the others with it.
Yeah, that might be the thing to do. I gave it back to the owner and bought him a new one as well.
The XTR is the only Orion line you should buy they are no Joke, the Orion Cobalt and Ztreets are Chinese trash that don't make they're power. I have the Xtr 650.1 and the Xtr 500.4 I bought probably like 6 years ago and I'm more than happy with those amps. The 650 is putting out close to 800watts at 1ohm and the 500 is doing about 136watts per channel, back in the day I always wanted one and when these came out I jumped on them. Funny thing too is that on the birth sheets they dynoed them at 12.8 volts and they were already making more than rated rms.
The HCCA is supposed to be even better, but the XTR line is super legit!
@@stereomojo Oh yeah forgot about that line but I'm to poor to buy one anyway lol.
@@martinez1701a lol, me too! They’re expensive for sure
@@stereomojo Probably why I forgot about them lol
Damn what happened to that brand, I have an old Crunch Powerzone PZI2250 first model that made it's RMS power. Now everything from Crunch makes about 1/8 of it's RMS lol.
I know, right! There’s a lot of people that like the current ones, but they just don’t know better.
I had an original zeus very old amp been around for yrs. He v2 is new to me. Definitely lot smaller than the original. Jensen amp from Walmart has the same look and build. Decent amp
An original would be cool!
I wouldn’t buy it personally but for 107 and does 6-700rms is not bad imo
I agree!
D4S has taken over the Car Audio circuit. Beware, JP is killing it!!
True! I love them myself!
60a fuse equals 600 +/- 20% rms.
Yep, I agree
For class D, yeah. Sometimes they will fool you and run a 60A fuse, but it might only pull 40 amps max. Some manufacturers are shady. I tested a very small Rockville amp with a 15A fuse and maxing it out it only drew 9.5A. I'm like, WTH? 😂
For class AB amps, multiply the fuse x 8 since it has lower efficiency. 😉
Test the Hifonics A500.2
Thanks!
I got that same amp in my nissan pathfinder 2001 and let me tell you that 3500 watts amp be slipping im the man at every red light 🚥 nobody moves till i have or the pull up there windows up 🔝 or move up in traffic be my system shaking 🫨 there car lol so i have no problem with my crunch it amazing
Them 2’12 kicker be slipping
If you ever get an amp that puts out a true 1500 watts you’ll be blown away!
@@stereomojo 💪💪💪 thank you and when I do just know, I’ll come here and tell you you was just right
@@stereomojo for right now my amp does a good job keep up the good videos
@@American_Express_my_love_ lol, thank you! Yeah, that amp puts out enough power to get fairly loud, but it’s nowhere near 3500. I run into a lot of people that get an amp like that, that thinks it’s really a 3.5k because it’s louder than their old amp that was a 2k but really did 200. Look, 650ish is a lot of power compared to what I had back in the day lol. I started out with a 80 watt amp then moved up to a 140 watt amp. 650 would’ve been a big amp back then. I do like that an amp like that does not need any electrical upgrades. That’s a big plus because electrical upgrades are very expensive! Enjoying what you’ve got is way more important anyway! Thanks man!
Thank you for what you do. It's hard to know what to buy without these reviews. I'm just looking for under $100.00 4 channel amp. What's the best bang for buck with your expert knowledge. Thanks.
@@bigskychevyguys8842 thank you! That Recoil DI 550.4 is a good choice for $85.99
@@stereomojo thanks for the quick reply. Where do I find it at that price ? Thank you !
@@bigskychevyguys8842 no problem. That is the current price on Amazon
Man those Hifonics amps in the 90s had some serious power(Zeus/Brutuz). This is sad.....LOL
I wanted an old one so bad!
Not as good as the old ZED audio Hifonics amps.
Glad you finally got your hands on One ❤👍🏾
@@T.ruH.eroU.nderG.od86 yes, thanks Michael!
@stereomojo Your Welcome.
The 1216.1 meams its a 1200 watt amp at 16 volts. Thats how most of the newer Hiphonics are supposedly done
@@mattadams7922 ok, cool. I didn’t realize that about the 16 in the model number. Thanks
Just go buy a Taramps MD 1200.1 for $159 and get over 1500 RMS at 1 ohm if you want a budget monoblock in this power range.
@@JayTR_10 yes, and there are even better deals than that out there too!
That's a typical half bridge design. You'll see similar designs on amps like Crescendo S1V2.
@@SeanOMatic thanks Sean! Even the half bridge and have gotten fairly small these days. I’d love to test a Crescendo amp!

@@carltonbritton2944 hmmm, could be. Kinda weird, but could be
It's almost impossible to steal anything at Amazon. Other than pins and paper clips the scanners and camera systems that are used to make just about impossible. Each area is compartmentalized. Go to three stages of security before you get to your area. And in the area you work at is directly monitored by cameras. That is a pick to light bag. Which means just hold the package up to a scanner it scans the box and it prints a label you stick the label on the box and ship it out.
Hmmm, good info. What do you think happened in my case?
It's too bad that the HiFonics amps are like they used to be, I always wanted one as a kid as well. I've been looking for a Colossus VII or VIII for my build,
@@Mark_5150 that would be cool to pick up an old Colossus!
I like watching these budget/flea market amp videos the most. The surprise is there unlike watching amps we know will do rated or more
Hey man thanks for listening to my suggestion about playing the other subs. Also where do I go to get that amp for 120
No problem, I should’ve done it already. Which amp?
Most of the Hifonics amps do about half of rated or alil more, except the BRX series they usually do pretty well especially dynamic power. It looks like theyre stepping up with the new lineup coming out.
I still need to do a Brutus amp. Thanks!
Nice 1
Thanks Bee!
That looks like half bridge. Nothing really unique inside. I like that the heavy parts are glued down and that there's extra coating on the transformer and inductor wires so they don't vibrate and short out. The outer appearance looks really nice. Still, I would not spend my money on it. Theres too many better ones on the market.
Thanks Jason!
@@stereomojoyea I agree half bridge. It's pretty well built.
Do you repair amps by any chance?
@RomaVilla I'm just starting out repairing them so I'm not taking in customers amps. I know a lot of amp repair people, though. Where are you located and what brand of amp?

First off,I love your videos..if you ever get the chance,it'd be extremely helpful if you could run the ZRX 3216.1d model long story short,I picked one up about 4 years ago for next to nothing, still in the box, never been used and it's just been sitting in a closet..would love to use it in the near future and you know as well as I do that knowing what you're using actually puts out is kind of a must thank you and take care!
