IABET - Jungian Art Methods
Finland
Hi, I'm Yasmine, a Jungian art therapist and facilitator. I help you explore the psyche through creative expression and hands-on techniques so that you can understand the symbolic language of the soul and gain deeper personal growth and understanding.
I have worked in my private practice since 2019. I have a Master's degree in Art, Psyche and the Creative Imagination (TUS, IrelandI), an interdisciplinary arts-based program with an emphasis in depth psychology, partnered by ISAP Zurich. In addition, I have a certificate in expressive arts therapy (Inartes Institute/Muurlan Opisto, Finland) and a Master’s in Applied Art and Design (Aalto University, Finland).
Although my work is rooted in the principles of depth-psychology, I strive to bring these theories to life, enabling us to move beyond intellectual understanding to truly living and experiencing our own creative power and the profound wisdom of our unconscious.

This process connects us in a deep way to the...

Communicate With Your Pain
In this video, I will show you how to communicate with your pain using art. You'll learn a way to paint / draw and write about your pain. This art therapy method will help you release resistance to your pain in a metaphorical way. The object is not to try to heal or fix it, but rather to just listen and see what it wants to tell us. I love your videos; they're really different and deep. Could you make a video recommending books about art therapy and Jung, or in general?
Olá! Meu nome é Salvador e sou do Brasil. Sou ilustrador (profissional) e arteterapeuta.
I was out and about today and I had two rude people helping me. I felt myself in fight or flight and after I left the store I was analyzing it to get a grip as to why I would go into fight or flight.. I did not get belligerent I just asked who the store manager was and could sense a drop in their attitude. How is that handled in shadow work. No judgement and examine why I was upset? I too can be rude given the right circumstances so I guess by acknowledging that it helps me in moving forward. I am happy that I am in the present examining what is occurring.
This information is so precious to me right now. It came at the right time. I will definitely try it out. TFS 💖💖💖🙏🙏🙏
I was thinking of you and your beautiful videos today... So grateful and pleased to see that you created a new one 🙏 ❤ I started to take art-therapy sessions last week, and I absolutely adore it ! Thank you so much for inspiring me into getting back in touch with my creativity ❤

Thank you for this … it led to a childhood memory and a conversation with my inner child. I am grateful for your talent and intuition.
Dreams are so personal and intimate, thank you for sharing 😊
Beautiful video, thank you ❤
It’s so brave to expose oneself and look deep inside and show us the process. This is very helpful, thank you for showing us the process😊

I really love your content ❤
Asemic writing is another good practice in artwork ive done this eyes closed too
thank you Im gonna do it now
My word ended up being cattails (like the plant near water not the animal tail)
Thank you for sharing your beautiful and magical painting with us, as well as the profound words you wrote to accompany it. The process you describe is really calling to me.
I go through phases during which I remember many parts of my dreams, and I write them down. Then there are times when I don’t remember anything, or very little. I have never tried painting my dreams, but you have made me curious to do so.
I really enjoyed listening to you read the fairy tale, which I was not familiar with. I was also fascinated by your paintings.
Thank you for this video. You are really calming to watch and articulated such an abstract concept in a beautifully accessible way. I really related to your brainstorming of the hood symbol. ❤
Thank you for sharing these art exercises! I love your videos 😊
I really like this! First time here, and I love it
OMG, what a wonderful exercise. I love it! Good to meet you!
Thank you for being a guide, a teacher to us. 🙏 Thank you for choosing to be seen even with the internal struggle. 🌹
What if you cant draw or paint?
I have been having a really tough time personally recently, and doing this exercise really gave me some time to meditate on my behavior and my desires in a way that was really non threatening to my ego 😂 thanks so much for sharing, it was a great way to calm down and explore my feelings today!
TRIGGER WARNING for anyone who has Cptsd please be aware....
I love your channel omg. I've been trying to create ways for myself to explore my own self and your breakdown of Jungian terms is really helpful ❤
This is so soothing, and you are so knowledgeable. I really appreciate you putting yourself out here!
There’s a process called “Soul Collage” that’s similar to this. It became a bit too regimental and monetized for my taste over time, but it has this same art therapy / symbol orientation. Those who are inspired by this exercise might also enjoy searching TH-cam for some of the striking examples it produced. I do my own simplified version of it because I like that the collages are made as a smaller uniform size that can be easily kept, stored, and utilized in an ongoing oracle card type of way.
Thank you so much for this video Yasmine, as it came at an important time for me. I absolutely enjoyed the way you guided us through this exercise 🙂
Thanks for your comment, so glad you liked it!
8:31 there was a sense of...jungian..! 🥁
I was literally looking for examples for Jung art projects yesterday.
Brilliant videos, so interesting. Your examples and words helped me understand this idea at a really deep level. Thank you
I'm so happy that you gained deep insights with this!
Wow I have animals just like that all over, specially horses, wolves and birds. They’ve always been my strongest passion, especially the realism and body anatomy of animals. Those 3 specifically as well as deer.
This probably sounds odd, but can't bring myself to cut up magazines. I have a large collection of postcards and will choose some, just lay them on the table, no paste, and will try selecting something for my symbol this way.
I can see how it might be difficult to cut up magazines and let them go... Yes, you could just collect images and not paste them or you could do this digitally too.
Love this! Curious, what kind of paint do you use ? I like the gold color
I use gouache and watercolor. The golden paint is this Gansai Tambi gold palette: amzn.to/3Yy7IG7 The other palette is a DIY from mixing up all left over gouache paints I had in tubes. :)
Since I saw this, I've been noticing my symbol in almost all of my abstract paintings
That's a really great observation and certainly an important synchronicity for you!
hey beYOUtiful, what type of paint is the golden one, and what brand are the colors? I´ve been using black paper journal but only with a white pen and color, and a golden marker, that's why your way caught my eye ;)
The golden paint is this Gansai Tambi golden watercolor palette: amzn.to/3Yy7IG7 The pencils are Derwent inktense pencils - they are super pigmented so they work on black paper even when you use water with them amzn.to/3A9yV8G.
the camera slowly zooming in and out is making me dizzy... anyone else?
Thanks for this feedback!
Great video, I appreciate your bravery. The exercise you've shared is very valuable to me.
Happy that you found this valuable!
Thank you for this❤
Are you INFJ?
I am an infj, but not the person who made the earlier comment
“The hands will often solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain.”
Great video! Loved all of it…except the Teal Swan part. There are many actual therapists knowledgeable and experienced (i.e. real clinical experience) who can teach about parts work. Teal Swan is more like a cult leader type, not a professional. How about recommending Richard Schwartz who created this theory (Internal Family Systems). He has several very interesting books and videos to teach about this theory and how to work with one’s parts for healing.
Thanks for this feedback, I can see your perspective. As for Teal Swan, I think that it is good to remain open minded to different people from different backgrounds - teachers from an academic/clinical background as well as a more spiritual background. All people have their own shadows, but with a good balance of healthy discernment and open-mindedness we can learn and become aware of things in a much more holistic way. In the end, we can only trust ourselves with which teachings feel good to us and which don't - therefore I'm glad that you're listening to your own inner wisdom concerning Teal and this video as well.
