How to replace fuel filter on Airbus A320 - PW1100G engine
The fuel filter is an important part of the fuel system, it secures a clean flow of fuel which prevents contamination of the engine fuel system, and that of course ensures higher flight safety. Of course, for that reason, we must replace it on a regular base. In this video, I will show you how to replace it and how to test it

How to perform engine wash on aircraft
มุมมอง 30Kหลายเดือนก่อน
Turbine engine compressor wash is the single most cost-effective maintenance procedure for any jet engine. Engine performance is affected by both gas turbine thermal efficiency and mechanical health of components. Since the compressor typically consumes 60-70 percent of power generated, compressor washing is critical to engine management. Contamination in the compressor section leads to deterio...

True appreciation for a nice video!

Thank you! 🙂

Thank you. Didn't know that the engine has so many parts integral to the safety of the plane. Bless!
It is different on each engine, some of them have parts on fan case some on hot section

This is an entertaining video You show a very professional attitude towards your job well done.
Thank you for your kind words 🙂

❤love this short clip
Thanks, I'm trying my best
Do you prefer Bosch, Mann or OEM filters ? 😉
Well bosch and Man are top-class, so it is hard to choose 🤣
I’m just hoping I can buy those fuel filters here in Albuquerque at Walmart in the auto section. Maybe Amazon. I’ll go for the aftermarket and save some money.
well this filter cost around 4000€ so if you find one with certificate for this engine cheaper, well good for you. :-D
I used this guide to change the fuel filters on all of My A320’s
👏 I’m still not sure about doing my own.
well you can try but if you are not certified, you will lost warranty :-D
Good job Pratt putting 95% of the LRU components under the cducts 😂
well you in this case fan case can be very light and it can be also removed for transport. if you have components on fan case it is not possible. Of course it make things harder for maintenance
easier than on audi
it is possible :-D
Amazing job, keep on the good work and great videos 😊
thank you! I'm happy you like it
If the bearing between the hose and the connector locks for some reason, you'll get a huge mess! Then you need to run quickly!
for sure yes. :-D
This is such a great channel! I'm surprised that you don't have > 100k aviation nerds following you. 😉I mean there are tons of pilot channels on TH-cam, but your one is the first one I found, which covers all these nice technical details of such an aircraft. Really great!! I'm deeply impressed how relaxed and exciting you manage to explain everything. And that all, given the great responsibility you have in regards to safety when doing all this.
Waiting videos how to use srm😊
well this is very hard subject. for that I will gone need to ask permition from Airbus to show documentation, bcs it is confidential.
Only one person can handle that
you still need, duplicate inspector because it is critical task
CFM 56. 50 year life span and counting. Do you think the LEAP will ever fully replace it? When was the VBV introduced? I know the early 56 had surge issues and a number of additions and modifications were tried. The continuous igniter comes to mind.
for sure this is future, it still requires some development, but one day fore sure
Great video mate, thanks for sharing
Thank you, very interesting.
my pleasure
The only 320 I've changed a fuel filter on was an elderly BMW 320!
was it harder or easier?
Is this at LOWW?
yes it should be mentioned in description :-)
Chris Fix of aviation. Love it!!
Thankyou i will do this on my A320 tomorrow
be careful, if you are not certified you can lost your warranty :-D
Thanks mate, was a dream that never came true to be a Aviation Tech ,so i get a great deal of joy watching people like you maintain these amazing machines. Cheers kym Adelaide
Was this a part of an A check? I noticed there was a similar operation going on the other engine and they had not finished when you did the ECAM check so only the left engine, yours, cleared. Was the aircraft on ground power or battery?
this was triggered by engineering. my collogue has work on IDG of other engine. I was his inspector and he was mine and we made run on both engines at the same time. If you leave aircraft powered from battery, you can drain the battery. A/C on ground is powered from ground power unit.
@@zeto.r Thanks. Sounds like engineering got a service bulletin..
I have a question on my mind. Do airplanes need oil change?
No. Interestingly with planes, the oil lasts forever.
correct answer is that engine is slowly burning oil and we just adding the oil and during process we are replacing filters. if there is any contamination we need to flush the system, which means that we need to drain, fill, run, drain and fill again
Very nice🙂🙏🙏
thank you
@@zeto.r 😊🙏🙏my pleaseure
Is there a warning in the cockpit if someone forgets to re-enable the reversers?
IIRC, you’re actually not able to even close the cowling if that enable/disable lever is in the disarm position. You’d find it on your walk around, but you’d also get an ECAM warning if the cowling isn’t latched properly.
you are not right, because this lever is used in case of reverser INOP, to deactivate inoperative reverser + of course mechanical deactivation. You can close cowls of course but indication is there for sure
yes you have indication on ECAM when ever FADEC is on.
Alhamdulillah! Nice job, i need to be able to do this on my a320 sometimes. Maintenance is too much.
happy to help :-D
Great video so fascinating to actually see how the service is done on these aircraft you do an awesome job keep up the great work❤️👍😎
just in case i need to know <3 ty zeto

Make a video, how to calculate fuel via MLI in case FQIS failure . By using MCDU (PITCH ROLL) .
I’m a Avgeek with a fascination of the maintenance side of aviation. True unsung heroes, love the vids from the U.K.
actually, this is my goal, to show general public that we really care :-)
I hope I won’t ever see an aircraft mechanic on the apron with a fuel filter in one hand and a phone with TH-cam running in the other.
I'm not holding the camera in my hand but it is on my work table most of the time and I'm looking at the camera like at the trainee which I have on my side most of the time. Another thing is that this is a repetitive task so I performed it several time and still I have the latest manual with me and of course my colleague perform double inspection 🙂
@@zeto.r It wasn’t aimed at you. I have no doubt in your abilities and training. It was more of joking comment on other mechanics relying on your instructions to service an aircraft engine 😊 It was an interesting video for a layman. Keep it up 👍🏻
no worries I just explained the situation 😉. I'm happy that you like it
I was worried about tackling this job on my P&W next week but thanks to this tutorial I am good to go. Thank you!

Lovely work
actually it is quite nice
Nice.. u ever think about when u got home, . "did i clamp those engine covers properly " 😂,
on PW you have ECAM indication and on CFM we have lock key, so no :-D
Please make more videos about this PW engine, Thanks
I need to be assigned to aircraft with this type of engine. but yes why not :-)
How often should the filter be changed?
Every 7 flights at the coast
mostly it is triggered by engineering. They tracking fuel flow.
So you have to open up the engine again after testing it to check on the fuel filter?
Yes, otherwise you don't know if there is a leak or not 🙂
@@zeto.r A bit tedious, however it must be done.
Great job Keep it up From Argentina...
I'm happy that you like it. hello from Slovakia :-)
how long does this job take?
it is always based on engineer, but it is not that hard job. I can say between 1-2 hours
Wow, that fan was not engineered to be easily replaced, was it! They could have done a lot better on that.
You need to take look from different perspective. everything must be very compact and packed as much as possible. You don´t need to replace it that often. :-)
You take out the old one you make sure the new one is the correct model you put it in and put a v on the task sheet. This is how I do it with land vehicles
I guess this is same on every machine out there :-)
Love the technical detail. Subbed here.
thank you I really appreciate it. I hope that you will find future videos good as well.
Now I will be able to change the filter on my A20.
Happy to hear that
