Every single plot or scene or even simple conversation in season two is filled with flaws and major problems and it's obvious that there were not a single bright person with average IQ in writing team. And all the problems in the show started with these geniuses decide to add new villains to the story. With Ambesa and her big army doing whatever nonsense she's trying to do and Victor, who is almost a God and wants to rule the world and all that black rose bullshits, our main story and main characters are not matter anymore. Now conflict between piltover and zaun is a joke. jinx is not the main villain and she's like a shop lifter compaires to victor and ambesa, and nobody cares about jinx and vi and their problems or any other characters or stories that writers tried to tell in season one. Our Story doesn't need a vilan like jinx anymore so let's drop a child from the sky to make our little psychopath terrorist murderer a good girl again.

Honestly Isha's death was an awful move in writing that let the writers do their fanservice in the case of timebomb, this because Jinx got suicidal for 3 scenes more or less, and left her completely vulnerable. Instead of reinforcing the narrative pilar of sisterhood that was established in season 1, they decided to make Ekko "save" Jinx using a line he got in this another universe and some sort of life is strange shit. Let's be honest, Jinx and Ekko haven't seen each other for 11 episodes and all suddenly, Jinx is in love with him? Ekko might feel some sort of attraction due to AU Powder even tho that is not our Jinx. But can we think of how awful writing that is in the case of the "boy saviour" arc they were trying to create, Ekko could have been a hero by saving Isha, that would have been a smarter move than yk, killing the child, Jinx wants to end it, he doesn't let her, and then Jinx is okay, like almost nothing happened. Isha's character got an horrible treatment, because she was created to die, even though, she had so much potential to be explored between her and Jinx.

I love how mlp FiM has become an actual reference within the animated shows sphere. It's truly a great show, it has its flaws of course but I enjoyed it and still do as a 20 year old woman.

To be fair, I think it would have been far from easy to make Season 2 even remotely as good as Season 1. "What could have been" was a great conclusion, but it didn't really work as a cliffhanger paving the way for a second season. Still, Season 2 certainly didn't have to be *that* bad.

I feel like the second season wouldn’t be received very well if it released right after season 1. Since there was this giant gap between season 1 and 2 and many forgot details of season 1 (+ 99% of people wouldn’t have time to rewatch season 1), it really resulted in people being very forgiving because most of them don’t really remember season 1 that well

I know I'm in the minority, but when the Hazbin pilot aired, I was into the depiction of Hell. It reminded me of the saying 'Hell is other people' - it's literally just our world but no one cares to make it better. It's run on a might makes right sort of system and those that aren't strong enough to defy them have to deal with it. Imagine you die and end up in a place that's somehow worse than life. People like Angel Dust just fell into what they knew and continued to be abused and victimized by a hungry, blood thirsty system. I thought it was interesting and had cool potential. .........I have been severely disappointment but I will say it didn't seem like a bad idea at the beginning.

Holy sh*t!!! The parallel between the Cyberpunk's 6 month time skip montage and Arcane's music montages is SPOT ON!!! You're a GENIUS for pointing this out! I'm a fan of both Cyberpunk 2077 and Arcane but I never realized it until now! Every player of Cyberpunk 2077 would tell you that the 6 month montage was a mistake and that it should've been a playable setion of the game. And now, Arcane fans got the same experience where whole episodes of story and character development are reduced into a 50 second music video...yet, no Cyberpunk player is delusional enough to say that it was a good decision, unlike some hardcore Arcane fans that will tell you you're "media illiterate" for missing a single frame.

I personally think the way they worked on Jinx was ok and I loved the CONCEPT of Isha but I think her sacrificing herself thing was stupid, it didn't do anything to the story, it didn't even effect Jinx I thought that was going to make Jinx go batsh*t crazy and it turn her into the Jinx that we see in LOL, but no NOTHING HAPPENS it's so stupid! It kills me, and right abt there is where my interest started to die. I also found the fact they decided to give every single character illusions, it feels like they looked at Jinx and said "well this works well sooo let's take her main thing and give it to everyone" and it made me mad. Heimerdinger dying was so pointless and it was so stupid (ik that technically he's not dead cuz of the LOL lore but still) we saw him sing a song then die it was pointless and made me so mad. Also I think they forced Caitvi down our thoarts so much and they made that the main thing rather then Jinx and Vi, it always was Jinx and Vi but that got completely erased and then the fact Jinx basically told Vi she was going to khs but Vi dosent try and stop her at all she just goes and has sesbian lex with Cait. There's so many other things I could say abt my opinion it just all makes me so mad

it's pretty clear that the one with daddy issues is Viv herself. Also, i wouldn't be so sure about the "profitable" thing, people are already getting sick of helluvaboss so i doubt she'll be able to keep this stuff going without toning down her pride. And, yes, she is prideful. you can see it from how she responds to criticism, she was always like this but now she also has the ego boost of having a show on Amazon

I think an issue is that there were things that were going to happen for sure like Enforcer Vi because this is who she is in the videogame and S1 went too hard, making things in S2 go too fast

Here's a goofy one for you, why is it that in the scene where Jinx tricks the one-arm-lady in Silco's office in season 1 she appears to have (and probably carry around everywhere in the under city) a little portable gas mask to nullify potentially harmful toxic gas, but then in Season 2 she just "forgets" that she ever had one or used one even though it was shown that people like Silco and Jinx had them readily available? Did the writers just forget that the gas mask was something shown to us and used several times in the first season? Is the Grey worse toxic gas? Is it a different kind of gas? No? Then why would Jinx just not have one on her? That doesn't make sense. You're telling me Jinx keeps a magical chaingun on her person at all times, but not a tiny little gas mask in a toxic environment like the under city?

I don’t know if I’m just stupid but until the last episode I didn’t even understand what the hotel was doing. I thought every episode they were just waiting for Charlie to come up with a real idea. I didn’t realize the team building events were the actual work 😅

The mage that saved Jayce was always Ryze. I have no idea why they pulled Victor out of their ass to force a story that doesn't make sense. You can even see the difference in the type of magic they are doing. Victor has some weird spectral magic and Ryze has actual Rune magic. He also has no tatoos on his hand like the mage in Season 1.

I feel like Arcane season 1 was good at B happens because A happens. Season 2 is much more A happens then B happens. There is little reason for why things are happening in season 2.

YES!! THANK YOU!! I think I agree with just about everything, if not everything you went over here in this video. Very well done! Season 2 was the biggest fall from greatness I've ever seen. But I like how you put it. It was a betrayal. It's beyond me that there are people that actually liked it but to each their own, I guess. The only thing I would have added about the worst episode, the "What if" episode, is why would Vi's death as a kid from the heist resulted in there being peace everywhere? Even Silco is like "whatever." Did they hire the writers from Disney's "What if" to write that one? Reminds of the episode where Thanos was super chill in a bar with Black Panther because Black Panther was able to talk him out of his convictions! And the rest of Arcane season 2 looks like they took a rough draft that their high school daughters wrote and just said, "Who cares, good enough." Three years of waiting and anticipation for this?! Yea, I feel betrayed.

I am upset that they didn't make Viktor an amalgam of machinery after getting destroyed in the orb from Jayce. That would have been a way to tie him to the video game as well as would have made his crippling legs, an even larger forefront. As now, he needs even more help then previously to even move or be alive. But nope, becomes a cult leader and ignores the character in the game and becomes league of legends jesus.

This is the perfect critique of this season and pretty much addresses all my issues with it. However, as someone who is invested in the visuals of a show just as much as the writing, I was still entertained and at times blown away by season 2. I think my ability to still enjoy this season is actually due to its biggest flaw, that being the breakneck pacing. The dream would be for a remake of the season, but it seems unlikely when you look at how much everyone else seemed to like it, as well as its commercial success. As of now, the best that I can hope for is that the writers are able to learn from their mistakes and leave Arcane season 2 behind when the inevitable Noxus series comes out.

Arcane season 2 was the biggest letdown ever. I have never been more sad over a media release.

How do we know the little girl is, a girl? The whole time I assumed it was a boy wanting to look like Jinx and be girly as a result. Did they show her birth certificate or something in the show? How we even know her name as she can't say it? Also Why did Jayce's beard did not go white at the end scene in space but all other body hair of everyone else was white? Was it his beard making him still conscious in Viktor's realm lol? What a way to drown your own baby this show was. I have no desire to watch anything from them no more. Multiverse = shit story.

Can’t say I agree on everything (especially Ekko’s journey) but I felt the same way about Vi. In S1 she’s too relaxed for a girl who’s been imprisoned and abused for 6 years, and her actions don’t always match her allegiance to her fellow Zaunites, like how casual she was about Jayce accidentally killing that kid in the Shimmer factory. Her characterization in S2 makes this more confusing.

The only video game adaptation i would put up there with Arcane is castlevania ( at least with the first three seasons) i just find edgerunner good for what it is.
