Hi I have a question, I have a 15 yr old fox rat terrier and I know he has a heart murmur but I am fearful to have him put under for any operation. He has coughing spells where he's trying to hack up something very violently, which i assume is due to his heart. Is there anything naturally I can give him to help him with his problem? My 2 cats are 4 years old. Do you think when they go for their yearly checkup they need to get blood work or not until they're older?

I am thinking of getting a cat. Don't want a kitten looking for age 4-5 years old. Reason why is I am 67 yrs old with bad knees. I have had dogs and cats most of my life. What do you think.

My scittish fold boy seems to think I am his play thing and bites me (sometimes fairly hard and mean) so I wiuld like to know how to stop this behaviour.. I have had alot of kittens but never one this aggressive. I worry about my grandchildren getting bit but at the moment George (my kitten) is very afraid of anyone other then myself and my husband.

My girl stress cleans her belly she's been seen by the vets so we know it's separation anxiety, but I've often wondered if there could be an element of nerve damage involved as she broke her back as a baby though you could never tell by watching her now! She's on maloxicom and gabapentin which definitely help but she stoned out of her brain for a few hours afterwards and very wobbly. The bald line starts just below where the break is. Any ideas?

I have 5 rescue cats. as a former veterinary ER tech, I have some medical skills, so I did the neonatal care for the society of humane friends. I ended up adopting a few of the kittens (special needs) that I reared for them. I have 2 kitties I adopted from a rescue litter back 21 years ago now, and they are still going strong. However, one of them was bitten in the face by a copperhead snake 2 years ago. Now I notice really subtle changes to his left eye and he keeps his mouth slightly open like he's got something in there. When i look down his throat I dont see any growths, and that look in his eyes is hard to describe. both eyes are responsive to light, he sees fine.. but being the observant person I am, i feel like there is something there that shouldnt be. My question is: do animals develop growths/tumors resulting from venomous snake bites? Should I worry about what I'm seeing? He is eating fine

Love your channel!! Our cat developed sores on her belly and on the inside of her back legs and experienced hair loss. She was constantly licking the sores. She was first diagnosed with anxiety (after everything else was ruled out). Then took her to a dermatologist who diagnosed it as allergies and put our girl on medication. Over the next year the belly went back and forth from flare up to clearing up. Then one day she refused to eat. When this continued into the next day we took her to the vet.. They could not find anything wrong with her. They gave us a different food to try and as she was licking her belly so much, the vet decided to start her on a hairball remedy. After 2 doses she vomited a huge hairball. The next morning she tossed up 2 more that were equally as large. An hour later she was eating her food and from that day on her belly healed and her hair grew back in. We replaced her allergy meds with the hairball remedy and she never had another flare up.

I'm a bit worried I had a cat that had a heart murmur he was everything to me but he sadly passed away I now have 2 more cats they are the best of friends but the older one has a heart murmur we've been told he could pass anytime how do I help my other cat cope with the loss they are inseparable x

I have 2 cats that were living in our alley. 1 was about 6 months old. The other over 2, educated guess. Young one is doing great. Older one is still scared of everything after almost 3 yrs. I know he had to belong to someone at some point bc he wants love, he's just afraid. He comes in every night and throughout the day. Question: How do I gain his trust enough so I can pick him up? Take to vet? Whatever? I have scars from him trying to put a flea collar on him, he has a reaction topical. More scars trying to cage him to take him to get vaxxed & microchipped. I have to use OTC natural flea meds and the one that starts w Cap...bc they all oral require a prescription. I can't get him to a vet. He's so allergic to fleas. It's awful. I wish we had vets that did home visits.

My 13 year old cat I rescued at a few months old.

I fostered several cats over the last few years. My maximum capacity for forever cats is two, so I am always glad when they move out. I am thankful I was a temporary home for them. My old wise catdad always showed them around and had a real " I've got a job to do" mentality about fosters. Unfortunately he passed in April of this year. We will see how his successors will handle fosters in the future.

You are an awesome guy, and you have a handle on how to let go when fostering a dog to go to forever home's. It still is hard for you, I know. You have that kind of heart.

Hello Dr Scott! We need to see more vets like you to show their face and talk about rescue. Also, So many conversations need to take place to improve the conditions of animals in general: puppy farms, experiments on animals, dog meat, transit conditions for animals going to abattoirs, conditions in the abattoirs, greyhound races, dog fights hunting dogs… the list is so long😢. Thank you for caring for animals. I am from Normandie but I live in sunny Brisbane with my 2 kids and 2 sausage dogs.😁☀️🌺🦜🌴🐋⛵️🐬🥑🦇🦎🦈🦘 When in season I binge on Hass avocados 🤪. Mango is a beautiful dog inside and out, no wonder you fell for him in no time. So funny he has the same hair as you dr Scott😂. Autistic or not I like your sense of humour😁. I dont think that dogs ever forget a human who cared for them good. I rather think that they cope with the new situation as long as the new owner is caring and loving and they feel they are save. Take it to the test and go visit them after a year or so in their new homes - I bet they'll recognise you immediatelly and be happy to see you again <3

I hope that Adam takes some comfort from the fact that his fabulous work and care / support of animals such as Diago is the reason they go on to have the wonderful lives that they deserve full of love and fun 🤗❤️. I’m sure each animal that’s been fostered and helped by him will always have a memory of him and be very grateful for his care and compassion 🐶❤️. I don’t think I could be emotionally strong enough to foster animals knowing that each time there will be the tough handovers and not having the animal as a part of your life anymore 💔 as I’d just want to keep every animal for the rest of its life so I would take on a rescue animal and give it a forever home 🐶❤️

Adam is an incredible person and achieves such great things with some of the most desperate cases of rescue 👏🏻. His empathy with these animals is very evident and it’s clear that he puts his heart and soul into doing everything he can to give them the best future possible 🤗👏🏻. I have failed fostering animals several times. Sometimes a bind develops that just cannot be broken. Especially with a dog that has been abandoned in the past.

I've seen this guy on Rescue Vet before & I think he's an absolute hero. He, & others like him, can make the biggest difference to a dog's life & their ability to be rehomed. I'm so grateful for people like this 'cos I know it's a job I couldn't do, I don't have the strength for it. This man taps into his warrior spirit time & time again, just so an animal can move on into a new home. And if he sheds a tear as he walks away, who cares. That's what REAL men do.

Thank you so much for taking care of those beautiful and inocente dogs🙏. You are a beautiful person and I understand how hard it must be to send them to their forever home after you have bonded with them. But in your👉💓 you have to know you have done a great job.
