- Meet rescue dog Diago in this episode of Shocking Rescue Stories with Dr Scott Miller. 4 month old Diago was given to a rescue centre with a broken leg, at risk of losing it the amazing team at North Clwyd Animal Rescue raised money for specialist surgery - but 9 weeks of crate rest left this young puppy too scared to go outside... and unable to find his forever home.

Poor Diago was so sad and unhappy at the start of his life 😢. Being taken in and cared for by Adam was exactly what he needed to change that and give him his life back and now he’s having a great time which is lovely to see 🐶❤️

This is a wonderful story. I do wonder why they couldn’t have taken the puppy out on a baby sling to meet people? Sadly, a lot of puppies are very poorly socialized, or people are negligent and let them on the grass before they have gotten their vaccinations. Parvo and distemper are terrible diseases.
I've currently got an 11 week old foster pup that's very similar. He didn't have a broken leg but he's terrified of everything. Its only recently he's started to come up to me willingly and is comfortable now in the house and a small yard but take him out of that he goes right back into his shell, terrified again. He was dumped anonymously at a pound who was going to euthanise him but he was pulled from the pound and is being fostered by me now. I hope he'll get comfortable outside and eventually be able to be adopted but I think it'll be a long road for him.
Adam is a one-of-a-kind being, the world needs a whole lot more like him. Thanks for all you do Adam! 🙏

this is makes me very sad... unless you have a good amount of disposable income this just show you cannot own a pet. Someone had to give up a very adorable puppy because they did not have the thousands to fix the leg... vets are soooooo expensive now you cannot afford to heal your furbaby if they get sick. So the average family will never be able to own a pet, only the elite get to have the love and compassion a dog can bring to your life.

Thank you to Dr Scott and his team for highlighting the challenges rescues are facing up and down the country. Not only with the medical problems some dogs arrive with, but also the psychological challenges that need to be worked through before a dog can be successfully re-homed!
Diago had both, but helping him progress into his forever home, after the amazing work the vet team did, was a real heart warming experience definitely a foster I'll always remember.
I promise he will always remember you!! One smell and all the love and memories come back to animals ! I lost my dog during a hurricane and after a year of searching found him and he didn’t miss a beat ! Smelled me and went nuts crying jumping licking beautiful
Dr. Scott, we need more vets like you. The other day, I had to take one of my cats to the vet because she was sneezing and congested. There was a new vet at the practice. He was so good with my scared kitty. She was born feral. I could tell that, like you, he really cares about animals and loves his job. Thank you for being a hero to so many.

What an adorable pup! All the years I've spent volunteering for different things (mostly organizing benefits), I've never had the opportunity to volunteer with a rescue. If I could afford it, I'd move to another country and find a rescue center like the one featured.
My 15yr old cat was dumped as a baby when she came to me she had one broken hip one displaced hip and worst of all a broken back tg after six weeks she started walking again and she's done great, unfortunately as all the bad things happened outside she will only go into the garden if I'm with her I feel like she's missing out but at the same time I'm kind of relieved as sometimes when she gets a fright she forgets how to use her back legs so it's kind of like she's trying to do the breast strike on dry land, not great if a dog was to go for her so we will just continue as we are she's happy enough once I'm there and that's OK.
So glad that the poor dog got help and better lovely puppy indeed

Umm since when do animals have human psychological issues? That dog isn't afraid to go outside! Either the owner doesn't let the dog out or never walks it making the puppy not used to being outside!!!
