Hi Dr. Scott. Your video had me in tears. As a psychiatric nurse of 40 years I was badly beaten by a psychiatric patient leaving me with a permanent back injury. Without the love and constant support from my rescue pit bull Lexi I could never have pulled through my darkest day. I got her when she was 5 months old and 9 years later I am still absolutely in love with her. She is my soulmate. Mango is just precious and just what you r heart needed…
I’m sorry that happened to you and I’m also able to relate to that because I was a medical patient that was assaulted violently by medical receptionist office manager. My patient Rights for violated more than once involving this incident and rather than apologies Crimes more crimes were committed, and I had to have emergency surgery on my retina, best friends are the best when you’re dealing with Trauma because of their unconditional love and support. I was assaulted a whole punched in my retina October 1, 2012, but the Crimes continued for years as I tried to get justice in court and they just would lie in judges in New York in my opinion don’t mind , doctors and employee as well as cops lying right now on social media still trying to pursue justice waiting for an apology and accountability. One of the cops that broke my case is now in NYPD homicide when he should be in jail for what he did to me which included threatening me with Fresh Saturday at 4 PM unless I drop charges.
I laughed out loud when I heard you say that you have a chicken named Stir Fry. you have an incredible sense of humor. Thank you for all you do for animals and their people.
I had surgery to repair two broken bones in my ankle. I got an infection and developed sepsis. The hospital staff was concerned that I wasn’t going to survive, so they let my friends bring my rescue dog Cooper into my hospital room to visit me. It lifted my spirit so much and turned around my health crisis. Our fur kids are very important to our well-being.
I lost my 12 year old boxer to cancer, He was my baby and I had a really hard time. We decided to look for another dog and I had been visiting rescues looking for a small dog (my boxer was 110 lbs and i'm 70) none of them seemed right. One woman suggested I check out Loki, she didn't tell me he was 120 lbs lol. She brought him into the yard , he ran around then came over and sat on my foot, looked me in the eyes and said take me home. He had been in the rescue for over a year and returned once but he is home now we have had him more than a year now, he is a lab and a joy. Good Luck with Mango, you guys will do great together.
My mum was in Salisbury hospital and they allowed well behaved dogs in for visits . It really cheered her and all the other patients up . I think more hospitals should allow this .
My mum was in a small cottage hospital. They allowed well behaved dogs in the common room but mum was too ill to leave her bed. They allowed my SIL to carry her dog to go and see her. I can still see my mums face.
I remember a story I edited years ago about a children’s cancer ward and a small child both deaf and blind. Desperate for a way to comfort him, nurse sneaked a kitten in,,planted it on child’s tummy, where laughter and relief followed. Worked for several nights, till nursing supervisor whispered, smiling, as the laundry cart rolled by….”your laundry’s tail is hanging out…”. No reprimands…
@@liannebedard5521 That is so nice, I am glad there are more folk in the world who understand how very important animals are to our lives! Also "Your laundry's tail is hanging out.." made me chuckle.
Oh Scott, Mango is just a dream ❤ I think if he could talk, he’d be saying, Hi everyone, my names Dr Mango and this is my rescue human Scott. I just knew he needed me, a week in and he’s settled well, he sleeps through the night and is toilet trained. Well done Mango, you’ll have Scott jumping through hoops in no time. 🫶🏻
Look how gentle he is with you! He senses you’re not up to your normal self. So what did the MRI show? (I’m an ER dr, so my curiosity is unquenchable. Sorry.
You welcomed Mango just before your injury. When you got home, he reacted with your injury. When my husband developed MS symptoms slowly, our cats adjusted to his abilities as they changed. It was amazing.
I think that you needed Mango as much as Mango needed you. I love that your daughter Quinn loves being around animals like you do. Healing prayers ✝️ 🙏 💖 to you from Texas, USA. 🇺🇸
Loved seeing how calm he was when he visited you at the hospital, and when you were with him at home afterwards. He's going to be a Great Emotional Support for you in the years ahead
Dr. Miller, I’m so sorry to hear about your back injury. When I was 39, I had a herniated disc in my lower back. I didn’t have surgery but rather physical therapy and anti inflammatory meds. I’m now 66 and haven’t had any other injuries thanks to learning proper body mechanics and being patient with myself. Quinn is amazing with Mango and has learned well from you but also has a natural gift. 🥰
I’ve just gotten a rescue pup, someone dumped a husky/Malamute pup into my yard. He is the sweetest goofball. He’s grown a lot in a very short time. Oliver Kismet says Hello Mango, sorry we won’t meet. But we are brothers of another mothers
I’m so sorry for your injury and hospitalization Dr Scott. While it was heartwarming that Allie and Nathan brought Mango to you, I was so worried that he would jump on you… but he didn’t. Rather he had a look like “Are you okay daddy?” What a sweet and smart boy Mango is. Many blessings to you and your family. Prayers for complete recovery🙏🏽
He is so calm, just lying on your lap and soaking up all the love you’re giving him. And for such a young pup, he’s a wonder! Love his fancy hairdo too.
I would say that Mango's entry into your life as you are dealing with your injury is providential. I adopted a traumatized cat just as I was coming out of a season of trauma in my life. My Tigrr Lily taught me how to be a calmer, more patient person, and we are both so much healthier now. I don't know what I would do without her. Along with the trauma, I have gone through three surgeries, cancer and the loss of my mom and my brother. Tigrr Lily supports me so much emotionally. We really do help each other through every day. She is a great gift, and I thank the Lord for allowing me to give her a forever home. Praying for many many happy and healthy years for you, your family and your handsome Mango. ❤
I had to look twice listening to Quinn talk with you and Mango. She sounds just like her mother. She has a natural way with animals. She learned and inherited that compassion. Mango is a beautiful dog. Thank you for rescuing him. Get well soon Dr. Scott. I wish we had Vets here in the US. that showed the compassion you do. We have them, just not very many. None that I've found in my area.
Never, ever underestimate the feelings that rescue animals have. We, as humans do give them nearly the credit they deserve. They sense and feel so much. I have been told by a vet that I admired so much (who is deceased now) that I am an animal empath. I have a deep connection especially with horses so it made so much sense to me to hear him say that. We don’t give them enough credit for their intelligence and depth of feelings.
I believe our "rescue pets" actually choose us. I have rescued cats and dogs for years. They give so much love that it's impossible to explain in English just how rewarding it is to rescue and give a safe home to animals. Mango is a gorgeous dog! Congratulations and a huge THANK YOU for taking Mango into your home.
Mango is a gorgeous dog. I can see why you love him so much. His personality is perfect. I wish you a wonderful life with him. You were all meant to find each other.
