We are working to capture some automotive adventures. We buy, sell and build old cars. We spend a lot of time looking for old vintage car parts from the 1920s thru the 1960s. We'll be digging out old cars and trying to find new homes for them! We hope you enjoy the adventures.
If you have any leads around Oklahoma please shoot us an email, but we'll travel father if there's plenty of junk to dig through!

Hot Rod Rear Shocks!! · 1931 Ford Model A Build Part 7
We're working away on the 1931 Ford Model A Roadster marking off stuff every week! This week we knock out some rear shocks on it using some custom brackets and some F1 pickup front shock arms!!
Cut, grind, tack, tack, weld, grind more.... and we have some rear shock mounts. Mounting them to the frame and then using the rear bones as the mount for the F1 shock arm worked out perfectly! Thanks for watching!!

How to: Hot Rod Juice Brake Lines · 1931 Ford Model A Build Part 6

We're moving right along on the old roadster, this week we knocked out some copper/nickel brake lines and plumbed the 1939-48 Ford Master cylinder to complete the brake system! We used the early 1939-1941 Backing plates up front on a dropped 1934 axle with 1941 drums, then in the back we have a 1935 Ford rear axle with 1936-7 Lincoln Zephyr wishbones, we shorted the torque tube and then added 1...
How to spot a good Flathead Ford Engine!
มุมมอง 5Kวันที่ผ่านมา
We tear down a 8BA style flathead ford engine and show you where to look for the common cracks and problems. This engine was decent engine that we had to tear down for a customer that just wanted the block. We pulled the crank and pistons but the valves were stuck so we decided to leave them for his machine shop as they were not needed by either of us. The crank in a mercury engine is .25" long...
How to shorten Early Ford Torque Tubes · 1931 Ford Model A Roadster Part 5
มุมมอง 1.9Kวันที่ผ่านมา
1931 Ford Model A Roadster build... This time we cut up a 1939/40 torque tube to work with the 1935 rear axle and hook to the trans! We had to take out the 1935 torque tube because they more of a tube instead of a solid shaft. They are also tapered to the outside ends so shortening one would be impossible. We grabbed an extra 1939 torque tube and drive shaft we had laying around and it worked o...

We got the old black lacquer stripped off the 36 Tudor and Travis asked me to patch up the firewall so we could move forward in painting the whole car! Will the Pomona Panel Run?? Flathead Ford 8BA engine first start!
มุมมอง 5K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Let's try and get this 8BA running! The Pomona Panel got a 8BA I scored from a friend a couple years ago. The 8BA was out of a restored F1 pickup that ended up with Coyote swap. I snagged the motor for a future project and when the Pomona Panel came along I knew I was going to use that engine because it had a good look to it and I hoped it would run just as well! We ended up converting the 8BA ...

I'll show you how I converted the cool old 6V heater in the Pomona Panel to a 12v heater with ease. We had a neat little heater I thought would be perfect in the Panel from the moment I bought it. I tested the fan when I got it back to the shop and it was deader than dead! I remembered I had an extra 12v computer fan from years back, and figured I'd convert the little heater so I could use it i...

I have a late 38 with an early 2 brush generator and a voltage regulator. Same problem that at idle it puts out around -2 amps and when I turn on the lights it gets to -20. How do you set the amp output on a 2 brush gen?
There is a way to adjust the regulator to increase the voltage. I haven't done that, but have seen it, so you'd have to research that. Good luck!
@@chaddilacdesigns thanks!
Ive got a 4x4 chunk of maple that i drilled a slightly larger hole than 1/4 inch and i just pull the coil of brake line through it,perfectly straightens the line.
Nice!
Looks great! Where did you get the 6 to 10 spline couple?
Thanks! Thirdgenauto.com is where I get all my parts from.
i just finished helping get a 1935n1 11/2 truck with a flathead going, what oil pressure should it have.? thanks
Nice... all depends on the motor and if it's worn out or new. My 8ba runs 55# on start, then after it warms up around 30#... I've heard from some older guys they had problems with their engine and could barely get 5-10#. So it just all depends on your engine. Good luck with it!
@@chaddilacdesigns thank you.i just drove it a parade ran 180 water temp. the oil pressure looks really bad because we have a 0-100 gauge .like 0 to 5 maybe 10.we put straight 50 wieght in it,
Thanks for the shout-out! Enjoyed the video. Nice entertainment for my lunch break. 😎
haha didn't figure you'd see that or catch it! LOL!!
Good stuff, very helpful! Doing good Chad!!

Enjoyed today’s episode, what was the name of the company where you got the flaring tool? Thanks
Thanks man!! Vevor.com
does the 53 wheel have some sort of stamping on the back?
If you're referring to a makers stamps, it would probably have a KH on the back and possibly a size, but sometimes they stamped those inside the hoop.

I’ve been looking for a engine dolly like the blue one that you have for my 49 flathead 239 V8 Ford engine where did you find yours?
It's just a home built one, I bought a 21 stud engine and it was on that stand when I got it.
@@chaddilacdesigns thanks!

I need to go get myself about three or four flatheads and put a good one together, I keep telling myself that but I keep putting it off.

@@chaddilacdesigns THANK U 🙏🏽🇨🇷🐺🌕
How do you account for drums that have been turned a time or two?
I think max is like .100 only... I've seen guys run them with .125 but I would think that the early backing plates with lower adjuster would help in that case. That's just my brain justifying keeping and running the ones that are turned too much. LOL!
Ive watched quite a few videos to find how to set the bottom eccentric. Thank you!!

Awesome video! Very helpful to see the process.
Right on! Thank for watching!
Good stuff !!!!
Thanks man!!
Cool video. I’ve read about how to do this but never seen or done it myself. Was wondering if you were going to replace pinion bearings or rebuild rear since you might have gotten welding splatter on the exposed bearings when you welded driveshaft coupler pins in place.
The way I've done all mine is cut the torque tube to fit and what ever you cut out of torque tube is the same length you cut out of the drive shaft. Never had an issue. And I always use the 46 style radius rods they are shorter and disappear quicker under the frame.
Thank you! No the only part of the bearing exposed was the flat end. Won't be any problem with it. These rearends are tough.
In a perfect world... LOL I had to shorten the flanged end a little more when shortening the torque tube so no real exact measurement.
I got those notifications turned on high hotdog!
lol
Nice truck!!! I had an original '34 deluxe panel, which was my dream until the body shop turned it into a nightmare. I regret selling it now.
What did the deluxe panel have different? I didn't know they made them.
I vote to leave it. It should look great once you get the fenders painted.
Yea I'm with you... I kinda just want the fenders to match and I think it'll look great!
Suggestion on revealing the old signage. First, there ain’t nuthin wrong with how it looks now! But I would be curious about the old advertising, too. Try using a “safe stripper”, one of the citrus based ones. I’ve had great luck with these because they work slowly, much less aggressive than solvent based strippers. This gives some control as you work through the layers. Maybe try a test panel, with a fine scotch brite pad to blend the paint layers. Great project, and great channel.
Awesome idea! and I have some of that stripper!! Thanks for the tips and thanks for watching!!
Very nice love panel trucks so cool
Right on man, Thanks for watching!
Love it....if you don't love the original lettering.... I wonder what your channel logo and lettering would look like (font/style) if it was around in the 30's???? Could be cool.
I've thought of that, I like it with the black so much if I reveal the lettering and I don't like it there's not turning back. So I'm unsure if I want to do it just yet lol!
