How To Regain Your Power When You Feel Powerless | Empowering Midlife Wellness
These recent times have left many of us feeling very unsettled and uncertain, and feeling like we have no agency to change things in the world. Today, I’ll share a simple way to switch our mindset from feeling like the world is “happening to us” where we have no power, to a place of agency and choice. From this place we can move forward even in difficult times and make positive changes that affect us and all of those around us, moving towards creating the optimal older version of ourselves.

มุมมอง 4.5K28 วันที่ผ่านมา
Despite the numerous well known benefits of menopausal hormone therapy, it's important to talk about some common side effects. It is certainly a major annoyance that needs to be addressed. Today I'll discu...

These include combinations of estrogens, progesterone and testosterone in the form of topical creams and sublingual preparations. Now that we are emerging from this fog of confusion, and understand that estradiol, proge...

Dr Willliam Li says drinking a cup of unsweetened, unprocessed pomegranate juice daily increases Akkermansia in the gut. Patients with high levels of Akkermansia responded very well to immunotherapy for cancer treatment. Immunotherapy failed for people with low or no levels.
I thought testosterone was the dominant hormone in women?
That’s a good idea indeed. This way you do things that will allow you to be what you want to be.
Should you also take progesterone also at the same time?
That s good a message and a way of thinking to calm the mind. But you know it's not going to be like the handmaid's tale. It's not going to be so bad. Have some faith
The best thing one can do for our mental health is stop consuming propaganda
Women don’t care about transgender rights, we care about the rights of women and children that have been eroded BECAUSE of transgender ideology!
I was on triple estrogen and progesterone ( bioidentical) for menopause from hell..worked in 1 week..ir was major battle..went out of state and met with Dr Christian Northrup's practice.
I read that people with diabetes shouldn't take this. Do you agree?
My situation is different than yours in many ways but empty nester 2 weeks now. I would love if you would do an update on empty nest
Good afternoon Doctor. I don't believe things just randomly happen. That being said, I work in Healthcare and had a circumstance happen which raised my BP and well, you get the idea. Well my phone made a noise but what got my attention was THIS POST!! So I am listening with very carefully to you. Thank you!
Thank you, Susan. I really needed a positive message. I have been feeling sad, frustrated and helpless with what is going on in our country. Trying to send out positive energy, but it is really hard.
I know Exactly what you mean! It's just completely MIND BLOWING how Mind Controlled the "Left" IS! They just Can't see through the complete Lies & Propaganda that the Main Stream Media spews, 24/7, day after day!!! And when a complete fallacy has been Exposed, they NEVER retract the Lie! And I just Don't understand HOW they get away with it! But, then I remembered, that the ENTIRE "Injustice" system is Completely Weaponized Against Anyone, & Everyone that doesn't agree with their Marxist World View! It Really IS a Scary time in our world! But I'm super confident that the "Wokeness" & Propagandist LIES WILL be outted, & gutted from our society over the next 4 yrs....and Thank God for that!!!!
Am I the odd one..I'm 59 and had my utures removed in 2015 so around 50 due to heavy periods... I honestly did and don't suffer any symptoms. The occasional sleepless night, and dry skin... should I be concerned about not taking estrogen... I feel like when I was in my late 30's but with no period. Could this be a genetic break meaning: I got lucky
Thanks for this. Thinking in futures, certainly will help in making better decisions today. 🙋🏼♀️🇨🇭
Sounds like your picking one side
That’s what you got out of that. 🙄
Thanks for the reminder Dr. Susan. I’ll work on that future self fantasy but at 72.5 I don’t think I’ll keep the 30 year plan! 😂😂
@@Wendy-t1vwell it’s pretty damn obvious she’s fallen for the fear and propaganda
I’m feeling pretty hopeful myself.
Do you build up a tolerance over time and need to increase dosage for continued results?

I also thought melatonin wasn’t good for us. Any thoughts Dr Susan
If funny cause my OB/GYN, who happens to be in menopause certified provider told me NO to HRT THAT I WOULD NOT BE A GOOD CANDIDATE BECAUSE I AM EIGHT YEARS POST MENOPAUSE AND I AM 63 YEARS OLD. SHE SAID THE RISKS OUTWEIGH THE BENEFITS. I TOLD HER I WANT IT FOR THE PROTECTIVE HEALTH BENEFITS , like strong bones , good heart strong brain I ALSO TOLD HIM MY SLEEP IS HORRIBLE. I DON’T SLEEP AND BODY ACHES AND LOW LIBIDO, BUT SHE WOULD GIVE ME TESTOSTERONE AND SHE PRESCRIBED ME SLEEP MEDICATION, I really don’t wanna take sleep medication. I did fill the prescription, but I’ll probably never take it . I just want to balance my hormones and feel good again
I started body identical HRT @ 61 , 10 years post menopausal. Since my menopause had started my cholesterol had been rising , however after having taken HRT for around 6mths to my surprise my cholesterol had decreased to normal levels . Why , as lifestyle hadnt changed , apart from retiring. 😊
Well, there will be a new head of HHS and FDA come January. Shouldn’t we start inundating him with emails and letters about this issue?
I had an appointment with midi bc i have low testosterone at 40 it's 15.. and have had low T since I was in my 30s and they wouldn't prescribe it for me bc I'm only 40.. look at the labs not the age. My estrogen is high I have endometriosis. They would only give me progesterone been taking it and still feel like crap. I went to midi bc my pcp wouldn't help. And they didn't either. So now I have to pay a lot of money for a subscription company to get it... ? Idk what to do i just want to feel better.
Thank you Susan ❤️Greatings from Finland
I thought I could not start HRT many years after menopause… I have osteoporosis, but no other issues…and now wonder if it is a potion at 63.
If I already have hair thinning in menopause, would adding testosterone cause it to worsen? My testosterone is less than 12. My doc doesn’t want to offer this.
Get licensed in New new too ❤
Oh my goodness, thank you for your video. I am 68 yrs old and after 5 yrs of taking Boniva for my bones, my bone density is actually significantly worse. I am seeing an endocrinologist now that has given me two choices daily Forteo (very expensive) self injections or Prolia twice a year. I am very healthy with no cancer or heart health issues. I am totally going to insist on trying a transdermal hormone prescription for my bones and other symptoms . Thank you for all of your supporting data.❤
Please be careful about Prolia. There are great FB groups about OP and a Prolia group. Do you take D3 with K2, lift weights and walk daily? Do you get enough calcium from your diet?
Bone density tests are comparing you to a 38 yr. Old pre-menopausal woman. Meaning, nearly all women will be prescribed those treatments. They cause bones to be hard instead of flexible. Every woman I know on them has negative side effects including degenerative jaw/teeth issues and intense hip pain.
I m 77 and feel like I need this therapy. Can I still start it?
You alluded to 5he fact that transdermal estradiol was preferable. What if you’ve taken estradiol and medroxyprogesterone orally for over twenty years? Is there a reason to switch?
I’ve been on Estradiol for over 2 years. A year ago I was diagnosed with Graves disease and last month was diagnosed with ILC and having a lumpectomy next week. The only change in my system was the Estradiol. I’m still trying to figure out what else could have been a factor. I’m a 52 year old part time fitness instructor. Thoughts?
Hi Dr Susan, do you know anything about Tibolone (LiviFem) ? My doctor is suggesting this for me. I don't know if this has the correct Estrogen to provide all the benefits. I am from South Africa
Hi Dr Susan, do you know anything about Tibolone (LiviFem) ? My doctor is suggesting this for me.
I started to have hot flashes at age 54 1/2 for a few months and then I looked into which supplements work and started my own regimen (I am a medical doctor). I now have NO hot flashes by using Estroven (rhubarb root extract, which has been studied), DHEA (25 mg), Pregneolone (10mg), progesterone cream at night, and phytoestrogen cream. I use these things along with my normal supplements which have always included things like vitamin D, cod liver oil, magnesium, etc.
Is he taking new patients
I have missed out, partly due to that WHI study that came out just as I was going through menopause. I had been on hormone therapy(by mouth)and my doctor withdrew it. I really have problems now at 70 and don’t know if I can find a Dr here who would help me, as I live in southern Mexico.
When is the best time to check estradiol blood levels on a twice weekly patch? Just after a new patch is applied for example or just before removal of an old patch or somewhere in between.
What about HRT with hereditary venous insufficiency? I am not talking about thromboembolism, but about appearance of spider veins and varices. Oral contraceptives are discouraged in that case, so would HRT be discouraged as well? My health care provider cannot answer that question.
Just purchased thorn creatine thank you for this important information. I want to learn as much as I can. I want a strong bones and a sharp brain ❤
What kind should we take , there are so many brands , my main fear is getting dementia, mom mom died of that , so so sad
where does the Iodine come from in the supplements like Iodal?
Thank you so much. My child is in college but she lives at home. She doesn’t spend a whole lot at home because she is busy, but I do miss mommying her but I understand too she is trying to be more independent and grow up. I’m a single mom and since she emancipated in age her dad stopped communicating with us and so I feel like I’m mourning that loss and also the fact that my child is growing up and moving into the next phase of her life eventually going to live on her own. Though I understand it’s part of life, I don’t really know how to reconnect with myself and learn to be a mom without children in the home. I find I don’t know anything interesting I want to do on my own without my child. How do we reconnect and get to know ourselves again as a mother with an adult child that is spreading their wings?
I found one recognized with certification by the menopause socity and she was a hack. Or quack. Whatever. When I originally called the office to make the appointment to meet her - I told the receptionist I was perimenopausal. I specifically asked if the doctor would be willing to see (and help) someone like me who is not yet menopausal, and ahe said yes. I wasted $150+ for listening to her 30-something year-old self offer NOTHING new that all the other GYNs had said. She told me there was nothing that could be done to help me until I was firmly in menopause (a year without a period). I told her that she needs to train her staff then to tell people the truth over the phone before they bother to come in, and that it makes her look like she is just in the business of misleading people and profiting, to which she was silent. I brought up what I had learned from you and your videos and she rolled her eyes and dismissed it, and me with that gesture. I walked out in tears 😢 and on top of not being treated, I was minimized, humiliated, and stolen from having to pay for a worthless visit. ***Just because someone takes a seminar or two and gains a certification doesn't mean they apply that knowledge to help people. For some its obviously just a way to make extra money.

Why would a pre menopausal women have extremely low testosterone when all of her other levels are in perfect balance?
