I have h/o DCIS bilaterally 10 years apart. I underwent lumpectomy and radiation. I took tamoxifen for 5 years for the first one but not for the second. This all happened prior to experiencing peri-menopausal symptoms. I lived through over 4 years of significant hot flashes, insomnia, high anxiety and overall a lower quality of life. I found a compassionate gyno who prescribed HRT and I feel so much better. My breast surgeon was okay with it because I’m being screened every 6 months alternating between mammogram and MRI. I understand the risks.
I so agree with everything you're saying and have been following you for a while. It is my understanding that estrogen does not cause breast cancer, but can cause some cancers to grow. My understanding is limited, but this concerns me.
I’m 40yo and I’ve been on HRT for 1 year. I was told, my chances of getting breast cancer are low because I started HRT early in life. I wish I weren’t on HRT but I need it to function.
