Yes, correct. Shemesh is different than Shamash, although they both refer to the sun. Shemesh is sun in Hebrew and Shamash is the Babylonian sun god: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shamash There is a lot of connection between the two languages, particularly after the Babylonian exile.

Daniel 7:10 does use the word shamash in the Aramaic of Daniel.

Thank you, dear sister. I can relate to sometimes wanting to raise my hand and ask things as Jesus is teaching too! I thank God for His Holy Spirit to lead us into Truth and fill in the gaps. We've been reading through the whole Bible as a family start to finish, and just completed Matthew. It is so neat seeing Jesus fulfill all of the things we just read about in the Old Testament. We've had a lot of fun with it. As we read the Old Testament, the kids play leap frog every time they hear a verse about Jesus! There has been a lot of frog jumping going on, haha. When you put all of it together, you start to see how some of the prophecies had two meanings. Even the two comings of Jesus are another example. Many were expecting the conquering King on the white horse, the Lion of Judah, the first time because of those prophecies. That part will come too!

Yes, indeed, the Bible is such a multi-layered book! It shouldn't surprise us, but I'm still in awe of our Holy Father every time He reveals something new. For anyone who wants to know the Truth if the Bible is inspired by God, it is all right there in its complexity, while at the same time the scriptures carry such simple truths too. Milk for the babies and meat for the spiritually mature both weaved throughout. I think that return to Eden is the blessed hope each of us in Christ carries in our heart. ❤Much love to you and your family too, Natasha!

Two Things: the word "believe" is often used in its watered-down form (such as a person "believing" in big foot) but the actual word root denotes faith and faithfulness. Obviously no one has "faith" in bigfoot nor shows "faithfulness" to sasquatch. There is a big difference between mere belief as we use it in modern English, and being rooted in true faith. Otherwise the devil would qualify, since he 100% believes that Jesus lived, died, and resurrected to save us from our sins. The difference is he lacks faith. This is important to establish, because most people today use the weak meaning of the word "believe" and mislead others into thinking they are saved by simply thinking something is true. Many people wither away like the seeds on poor ground the moment persecution arises. Their faith never took root and as such they never believed in the true sense of the word. Such people should not be assumed to have received the Holy Spirit. The second thing: the scriptures sometimes show a gap between belief and receiving the Holy Spirit. There was a group who believed and was baptized, yet did not receive the Holy Spirit until the apostles came and laid hands on them. Even in my own experience, there was a small gap of time from when I believed and when I received the Holy Spirit. To treat it like an automatic mechanism rather than something God in His sovereignty chooses to mete out is the wrong approach. And if there is a "sealing" of the Holy Spirit the moment someone truly comes to faith, is that the same as being filled with the Holy Spirit? Is that the same as the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit? Is it the same as the baptism of the Holy Spirit? In the scriptural examples, believers operate in the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit, often times speaking in tongues, expelling demons, or prophesizing. How do we explain the difference of a believer who regularly operates in the power of the Holy Spirit versus one who never has? All believers in Jesus should be praying for His gifts and power to manifest in their lives. The Holy Spirit is our comforter and we should know Him.
