THE SECRET STUFF NO PROFESSIONALS ARE TALKING ABOUT
In this video I’m showing how I do my heat training. I’m not recommending anyone to do it because it can be dangerous. People are doing it in many different ways, but this is how I do it after testing a lot of different methods the last two years.
It was really difficult to answer all the questions around heat training in one video, but if you have any questions, please ask it in the comment section and I will try to answer!
GG!

A MAJOR SETBACK // ROAD TO RECOVERY
มุมมอง 13K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
I have been struggling with my breath and throat for the last couple of months. We found out that I have EILO and we decided to do the surgery as soon as possible. I had to take 2.5 weeks without any training and then I could start the build up slowly. I will have a block of 4 weeks in my altitude tent from Box altitude / Timik AS and I hope to get back to some racing in the end of June. Hope y...
PRE SEASON TRAINING CAMP
มุมมอง 38K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
This was my second training camp with TDT Unibet and my first training camp as a professional cyclist. High volume and sometimes your body isn’t working properly - but you have to learn to deal with it! Good energy within the team and I’m looking forward to start my season in Tour of Antalya in February! GG! Instagram: _cedrik_?h... Strava: www.strava.com/athletes/43871049
CAN I BEAT TEAM INEOS?!
มุมมอง 18K8 หลายเดือนก่อน
Is it possible for me to ride faster than Geraint Thomas, Cameron Wurf and Dylan van Baarle? These guys including a few more Team Ineos riders did one loop around Mallorca in 8 hours and 37 minutes with an average speed of 36 km/h on a training camp in 2019! I did almost the same loop and it ended up being 320 kilometres and 4400 meters of climbing (almost the Mallorca 312 route)! It was a long...
IT IS A PART OF THE GAME..

Getting injured when you’re at altitude is something you want to avoid. It takes much longer time to heal at altitude compared to sea level - so to get a injury/infection at the beginning of this training camp was not GG.. Even though I hope this ended up being a interesting video about how I deal with a unpleasant situation. Instagram: _cedrik_?h... Strava: www.strava.com/athlet...
FROM TRIATHLETE TO PRO CYCLIST IN 1 YEAR!?

Beyond excited to announce that I will turn pro together with @TourdeTietema It’s less than a year since I decided to switch from triathlon to cycling - so to turn pro already next year is unreal!! A big shoutout to Team Coop Repsol for giving me the opportunity this year and helping me develop as a cyclist! It has been an amazing year with even greater people! OVERKILL ALTITUDE TRAINING IN CHINA!
มุมมอง 10Kปีที่แล้ว
My very first time training above 3000 meter! 10 days with training and preparation before we’re gonna race Tour of Qinghai lake! It’s a 8 days stage race at altitude here in China! Some of the days we are gonna live above 3000 meter! I really looking forward to it! Also very cool that @nerocoaching made an analyse of my previous video: th-cam.com/video/FjrVp22mmS8/w-d-xo.html Instagram: inst...
My worst race ever!

One of those days when you feel everything is wrong.. But that’s how it is being an athlete. You have to deal with it and learn how to perform! Even though I’m very happy about how I have progressed the last couple of months and I’m really looking forward to the upcoming races! Next race: Tour of Qinghai Lake! Instagram: _cedrik_?h... Full day of eating and training (at home)
มุมมอง 15Kปีที่แล้ว
This is what most of my days look like. Training at home and it’s nothing special. Hope it was interesting to see how my “daily life” is as well! I don’t count calories, but I did it today so you guys could see how much I’m eating in a normal day of training at home. I usually just eat when I’m hungry I and try to eat lots of carbohydrates and also some protein and fat. Remember: If you eat mor...

That's GG 🔥🙌💪
Sad for your friend... And fantastic music selection
U remind me of vander poel
RIP André
THAT IS PORNO
Sorry for your loss, happy for your accomplishments, continue to inspire those around you 🙏
do you do anything different for teeth health since you consume so much sugar and carbs?
Hi, what’s the name of the B&B? Thanks. 🚀
Looks like a really good and unforgetable trip for both bodies and minds! Cycling makes friends for life! #forAndré #171
Very touching ride. RIP Andre. Will you do a recap of Tour of Norway or some videos?
🙌
An unforgettable trip ❤ #forAndré #171 💙
Amazing watts, whats ur weight? It looks like u are pushing around 6w kg?
Awesome tribute.
Hi, you use the Moxy sensor in VO2 session for the warm up (repeated desaturation) or also during intervals? Also where did you learn how to use the lactate? Do you have any reference? Thanks. Great videos.
Veldig trist historie… Legg havregryn i vatten på kvelden. Så er det bare å varme den på morgenen og den blir myk og fin.
Such an amazing adventure! RIP André, for sure his spirit was with you guys the whole days
Heartbreaking to watch man. Great trip, those memories will definitely stay forever. RIP André
❤❤❤
Tønsberg is a really beautiful city! Would love to visit one day 🥺
The view is really fantastic there
RIP André ( btw does he had french origin ?)
Hello my strong friend, cant wait to see you race with pogacar up the tourmalet NeXT year🤑😘🥹
Has any research been done on the effects of heat training by using alternative exercise types? For example substituting hot yoga for cycling session. If the hot yoga class raises core temp by the same amount for the same duration the blood plasma effects should be similar. Given that the fitness gains for these cycling sessions is minimal maybe the alternative is an option.
Looking strong 💪 🔥
My heat training is sauna 3 times a week 😆
What info do you et from the Core sensor that you can't et with a body thermometer?
You get the live core temp so it’s easier to adjust the load and you also get the skin temp and a heat strain index which is very useful
@@cedrikbakkechristophersen Thanks! Great video and insights. Would you use the Core sensor during the race or it's only useful for heat training sessions?
Nice video! Next idea: how to do an altitude training camp 🤔
Thanks!
it´s very important that you do get fresh air during indoor training, the used air is unhealthy because of the co2
True! That’s why it’s important to have a big enough room or have the window a bit open
I live in Cyprus and everyone here during the summer is doing heat sessions not because they want to but because it's bloody 40 degrees outside
Haha, crazy!
Yes they are. It’s not new.
Never said it was anything new, but the majority of cyclists have now started with it;)
@@cedrikbakkechristophersennow now Cedric. I never said you said it was “new”.😂😊
My favorite Norway guy🔥
🤠🤠
Vekta rett etter en varm økt er den jeg legger inn på Zwift 😅
🤣🤣
40° is crazy tbh.
What % of the ftp should u ride at ?
Depends, but you should go by feeling and not by power
What Are the name of the intro song?
You should spend some time cycling in Malaysia... Cost of living is cheap and it is super hot! Are you doing Tour of Qinghai?
Crazy! Not this year
😲🔥💪👌GG
finally a new video!
Gg Cedrik!
Saw you on stage 3 Tour of Austria on the Porscheberg, looked still pretty good. 💪
Thanks!
Great content, thanks for sharing!
Great video 🎉
But how much has your fitness improved in comparison to prior to heat training, and have you been able to sustain the power on the road in the heat? Because alot of people do it via secondary so they will sit in the sauna post session.
I feel really a big difference after doing heat training. Not sure in percentage, but I can feel that I’m able to be more competitive in the heat, so that’s the most important
5:15 Dehydration is not essential: While some research has explored dehydration during heat acclimation, it's not necessary for achieving adaptation benefits. Research is still ongoing in this area but it has been shown that the physiological adaptations of increased plasma volume, improved sweating response, and cardiovascular adaptations occur regardless of hydration status.
True, but as I said, it’s all about finding the balance.
it was in fact very interesting video. Especially knowing how much your core body temp rises. Not sure I'm gonna include it in any of my training though great idea if I ever want to race in hot climate
Thank you!
👍
Very interesting vid Cedrik 👍
Hvilken type rytter tror du blummen er? Klassikerrytter eller klatrer/gc?
Time will show tenker jeg 🤠
