Hi Julia! We have a postponed Christmas because everyone is sick... cough/congestion... uuugh... My question to you is if you did not start your paintings off red ... is there another color you would use?? Videos for 2025... I love to watch you paint... though not a fan of just music... like the conversation too... And you can talk about anything.. not necessarily about what your doing... just day to day life.. I often use videos for 'noise' in the craftroom/studio... I enjoy whats going on in you garden.... love the atmosphere of Crown and Press... Hope that helps... Hugs! deb

Dioxazine glazes are pretty. Let the diox dry then use the transparent teals and turqs over top. Quin magenta and diox are pretty in glaze too. The colour turns out different depending which one you put down first too. See Artist David Langevin use of glazes, veils, tints, he uses single pigment colours only and his paintings are magical. Ultramarine Violet is a matte purple, kind of a neat purple but not really sure what to do with it because its so much more matte than all the other acrylic colours.

Talking about a studio tour, just painted two of my computer chairs for an art show. Those ugly fabric ones that go up and down . With a large flower on one and a landscape with a river with an eagle on the other.As well as a beautiful 30 year old sofa that was filthy from an old dog….covered easily with a floral painting, now. I used chalk paint and topped with a fabric wax. They were very well received. And my studio looked much better for a show.

I love this. I am not a canvas artist, but I was a scenic artist at Walt Disney World. I am familiar with most of the colors you refer to. We used paint by the 100s of gallons- Modern Masters Theme Paint, Nova Colors, My favorite go-to colors: Nova Color Trans Yellow Oxide, Nova Color Trans Red Oxide, MM Moss Yellow, Raw Umber, Burnt Umber, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Paynes Gray. I was a lead painter on Disney's Avatar and I used a couple of particular combinations. Ox blood: Trans Red Oxide + Paynes Gray+ Trans Black Oxide. Mossy Green/Yellow: Moss yellow + raw umber. Lovely forest greens from: Phthalo green and blue + raw umber and burnt umber. I have done a lot of woodgraining using these colors too. I wish to covert to doing canvas paintings. Do you use any Trans colors? Any phthalos? or Wild Fire? Continuing to follow....

Subscribed! What a lovely work. What I would really appreciate seeing is how you grab paint from the palette. Is it possible to have a small viewing square, close up, of the palette as you paint? I know it would need another camera, and may be too complicated.

Hi Julia, I really like your videos. I love your style. I paint in acrylic, and my paintings are very brightly colored too. But, it would really help if we occasionally looked at the photo you are painting from, and maybe you could identify and show why you are using a dark or bright color in specific areas. That would help us learn how to identify areas/colors. Thx you ❤❤❤❤❤

Our colors are basically the same, although I don’t remember wearing the purple/lavender. I have the green eyes, my dark blonde is greying and our skin tone is the same! I too have the teal green glasses. I may have to adventure into the pur/lavender area. Your sweater looked great with your glasses and nails.

So interesting, I wouldn’t think of mixing with these colors.
