Thanks Julia, that was great ❤ I love how you use your paint right from the tube...not many people do. I can appreciate the sophistication of mixed colors but I love the life and vibrancy you get with using them unadulterated. 😮🎉
Love seeing how you paint Julia and your style obviously really suits the pines and firs that make up a lot of the Canadian landscape, very beautiful sweeping strokes, would it be possible to show us how you paint the more broadleaf, deciduous trees that are more common in woodlands around Wales (😇) like oaks, beech, sycamores, birch etc? I’d love to see how you represent these for inspiration. Thanks, Anna ☺️
Your tutorials have really improved some of my approaches to my paintings! When I start a new painting I tend to go back and rewatch some your videos. Thank you so much for your time. I really enjoy the longer videos.💖💖💖
Speaking of a European art retreat!!! You should contact Chateau Puy Vidal. I have been following them on youtube . They are a family that bought the Chateau a couple of years ago. The place is amazing and they host art retreats!!!! I live one Calgary and am dying to go there. I love France. Oh yea that's where it is ha ha
Have you ever had a painting not sell? No matter if you liked it or not... how long do you give it to sell before you paint over it or whatever.... ?Love , love , love your work!
Hello, may I ask you a couple of questions please? I am an artist as well, I pour paint. I have been commissioned to do a piece for someone. Someone, who actually bought one of my smaller pieces on line. But, now she wants everything in a larger scale. Which is o.k. I will determine how much my canvas for this will cost, and paints etc. But charging for my time, is where I feel stumped. How do I determine that? I am not famous, by any means like you, but is there any tips you can give besides the art that display here? I don't want to under charge or over charge her either, but I am not sure what is something I should not overlook? Your thoughts, expertise, and kind considerations would be appreciated. Thank you so much. Artistic Thoughts By Elena
You need to set an hourly value to yourself. This will be in the beginning some where around $20 per hour. Then add your material costs. Fine artist like Julia have built a reputation that brings a higher price for her work. I hope this helps.
Thanks for the shout-out, Julia! Will talk to the FCA executive about a Kelowna workshop! So enjoyed watching you paint at Hambleton Gallery.
Delora
I would love to take one of her workshops! I live in the Okanagan

I'm so glad! But I do mix! On the canvas.

You are so welcome! That’s good to know!
Hope you're stocked up on green gold since it's your favourite! 😧That Tofino one is just gorgeous--I think I may be partial to your island paintings💜
I am!
Beautiful painting. What varnish do you use?
I use liquitex high gloss water based varnish.

I haven’t painted over many! I give them away at times.
Hi what red do you use to paint your canvas please
Use Azo Gold, replacement for the Quinacridone
That’s good but doesn’t have the richness and dark elements of the burnt orange.
Do you paint for the Walmart stores??? We have King Kong here in Australia and I'm sure I've seen your art there.
I don’t! I’d you see something again please send it to me!
