@@ezbgames Haha yes, I do love a crowded game! I think its been this way since back when I played x-wing and warhammer, those were always intensive two-player games so when it was boardgame time I wanted to get as many people in there as possible! Arkham Horror 2nd edition with 8 players AND a gamemaster are evenings i will never forget!

Hello and thank you for commenting. The Resurrection spell is not being cast at the Black Dragon, but rather on the Rampart creature. So there isn't a problem. Thematically it also makes sense and that's the way it worked in the video game. I hope that helps 😊

Not sure I understood the question 😅 Are you asking why the designers didn't do that you draw cards between turns in the Battlefield expansion?

I'm actually not at home at the moment so I can't direct you to the rulebook right now, but in general, any use of the Orbithopters requires the removal of that Ornithopter 😊

Also, I'm tempted to bag all mini's into factions, leaders etc.

Absolutely.. I think that's what I'll do to put everything with the expansions in the same box. Makes more sense to me.

I appreciate it man.. seriously. It was important for me to give it everything I could including trying to learn it by myself and play 2 full games before actually putting this online. Otherwise, it wouldn't have been fair for the designer and publisher

Blue miniatures and their leaders (grey) are called Free People. Red miniatures and their leaders (grey, Nazgul) are called The Shadow

Regarding which one of the games- I have much more experience with HoC than with HRE so naturally I want to say that HoC is the safer choice. But next to it, I really don't know well enough HRE. The modules are *slightly* different and for this reason, since the core mechanics are exactly the same, I would say buy which ever you find the cheapest. You can't miss with either. Please let me know when you get one of them and what did you think 😍

Hahahaha you made me laugh at the end of the comment, in a good way! 😍 I agree.. some games just click with some people. This game clicked with from the very beginning. I'm not sure that 'tight' is a bad thing.. I kind of like that you have a competition till the very end of the game and it's never too obvious who is going to win. Sometimes you might think you are in the lead till you understand the others have better technology. Sometimes someone will build 2 churches in one turn and score a lot of VP. It's cool and I like it a lot because it keeps you focused and tense throughout the entire experience. I think that till now you understood that if I recommend a game, it's because I played it a lot and I really think that if you like what I talked about- you should try. And I'm not afraid to point at the weak spots (and there are absolutely in this game) because I want you (and the viewers) to have the whole picture.

@@ezbgames Your honesty is highly appreciated. I think I was misunderstood: By "tight" I refered to the entire resources/buildings-production/upgrading tightness of as too tough and slow by design, not to the scoring (although it isn't out of context) or interactions.

Well even that, depends on the way you decided to play. In the game I had 2 days ago, I was VERY tight on resources till the late part of the game while some of the opponents had a lot of resources. They decided to invest in economy while I charged forward with the few soldiers that I had and took half of France (yayy!) So yes, resources are limited, but you can explode your economy. Everything depends on how you run your game 😊

The experience I get from SC is by far superior to FS. So yes, I would go for it. I never had a game of Starcraft taking as much as TI4.. but I guess it depends on the group and on the players.

Well, better a long how-to-play video that explains everything and then you can actually start playing, than a short one video which immediately after you'll look for another one ;) I'm not saying my video is the best, but it covers all of the rules

Haha I had a feeling it will be controversial 😅 Here's the thing.. I could have agreed to keeping the game (and maybe even having the new expansions!) IF there was ONE big box to keep everything together with ONE rulebook the combines everything. But to my understanding this is not the case. And anywhere that I look when I find one good thing there's also one bad thing, which is not positive in my opinion. The exploration mechanic is very basic and doesn't change a lot of things.. maybe they could have added some surprise combats? Or some bonuses when exploring? Because at some point exploration is just another thing.. the combat mechanism with the dice of -1 / +1 / 0 is king of lacking and making it maybe TOO simple. Since I would never recommend using the Battlefield expansion for any combat besides the absolutely last combat between players, the normal combat board is small and very repetitive. The lack of interaction untill the very end is making this game a mainly solo experience which is not what I was looking for. They tried to streamline the game (which I appreciate the effort) by limiting the round numbers and the tiles you can lay and the heroes you can recruit. But that is taking a big chunk of the PC game experience. I would add the possibility of recruiting more heroes and having more tiles ao the map can be bigger and you'll be able to do more things. If you don't have diplomacy, you won't be able most of the time to have creatures from different factions. And I'm not even talking about the possibility of having this game at 3(!) players.. that is just down-time agony. In 3 players, when one player is attacking, one player will 'play' for the enemy but that leaves 1 player just doing nothing. So that player is just left there singing "wake me up when September ends". This game could have been MUCH better, but at the price of being much less streamlined and taking more time with more moving components. So unfortunately it is a double edge sword. If I were you, I would try to get a 2nd hand copy of the game and see how it is. Trust me, you'll be able to get everything in the 2nd hand market. This game will not stay a long time with the players, especially seeing how many backers there are 😊

Thats literally the answer i was looking for... but not the answer i wanted to read haha I really saw so many potential in this game, that is a pity it doesnt get to expected level. (im also bored about those board game influencers were every board game they receive for free are "perfect! enjoyable and fun game!") so i really respect your answer. For the moment maybe i will keep my small collection with "Starcraft+Brood war expasion" and "Eclipse Second dawn" and most probably you are right just trying to get it from the second hand market to try some testing.

That's the advantage in not giving a flying **** about what everybody else is saying. I give my opinion in the most direct way. What's the worst thing that can happen? Someone will unsubscribe? Lol my channel is super small in any case 🤣 This is why I promised myself (and my viewers) to NEVER review I received for free. Only how-to-play or playthrough videos. If I want to review a game, I buy it, I play it (a few times) and then I review it. It's better to keep a small but amazing collection of games that keep hitting your table, rather than many games that you're not sure of or just waiting to be played. Love your attitude regarding that ❤️

Look, that was just my experience with Merchants of the Dark Road. And for 50€ I don't even regret trying it. I hope you'll find it better than I did! These games like Luthier lose their value VERY quickly. It's very rare that a game now days hold its value.. I'll make sure to cover Imperial Borders in a way that will help you decide if it is for you or not.. I'll keep you updated brother ❤️
