Early in the video you spoke of end game triggers. First player to reach the last space of the culture track also triggers the end game, which should also have been mentioned. Not sure if that's the case when you play the Great Domain combine module for 5+ players., but I thought it was worth mentioning for the record. As for my story on how I acquired this gem, found it locally on FB Marketplace about 2 years ago, both games BNIS for $60 CAD.....not each, TOTAL!!🤣🤣🤣🤣. Arguably my biggest steal to date.

Searching for cheap deals in 3...2...1... 🤣 I was waiting for your review because, like you said, there are a few review videos of it, and some are not so great As far as buying Heritage or Holy Roman Empire, which would you choose? Regarding which one of the games- I have much more experience with HoC than with HRE so naturally I want to say that HoC is the safer choice. But next to it, I really don't know well enough HRE. The modules are *slightly* different and for this reason, since the core mechanics are exactly the same, I would say buy which ever you find the cheapest. You can't miss with either. Please let me know when you get one of them and what did you think 😍

Another great review. (I feel like a talking parrot who repeats himself, but this parrot always tells the truth! :)) I've heard mixed opinions about this one. The main criticism was that it's just so/too tight. When you speak of it - I want to find a copy immediately. Nevertheless, the reviews remind me that some games just 'click with' people. And while I might be among those people, so far I had a rough time with games which are too tight. (I might be wrong but) In the subtext of your review, it sounds like all the 5 players beside you felt like you about this game, which makes me wonder if I might be missing a must-have creation after all. Eventually, there are too many games and too little time (to dedicate to extra tight games). Yes, the FOMO is always temporary... up until you're falling apart under its pressure, neil down in front of it with weakness, and admit your defeat by purchasing the game. 'An addiction', they're calling it.

I'm not sure that 'tight' is a bad thing.. I kind of like that you have a competition till the very end of the game and it's never too obvious who is going to win. Sometimes you might think you are in the lead till you understand the others have better technology. Sometimes someone will build 2 churches in one turn and score a lot of VP. It's cool and I like it a lot because it keeps you focused and tense throughout the entire experience. I think that till now you understood that if I recommend a game, it's because I played it a lot and I really think that if you like what I talked about- you should try. And I'm not afraid to point at the weak spots (and there are absolutely in this game) because I want you (and the viewers) to have the whole picture.
@@ezbgames Your honesty is highly appreciated. I think I was misunderstood: By "tight" I refered to the entire resources/buildings-production/upgrading tightness of as too tough and slow by design, not to the scoring (although it isn't out of context) or interactions.
Well even that, depends on the way you decided to play. In the game I had 2 days ago, I was VERY tight on resources till the late part of the game while some of the opponents had a lot of resources. They decided to invest in economy while I charged forward with the few soldiers that I had and took half of France (yayy!) So yes, resources are limited, but you can explode your economy. Everything depends on how you run your game 😊
