Enjoyed the video very much,,awesome piece. To release the bond of hot melt glue try a little denatured alcohol.
@@robertwentworth7775 Thank you and yes I learned the alcohol trick a few years ago. Life changer👍
Very nice!

Very attractive birdhouse that I am sure some feathered friend will use to raise a brood of young! I like that you can screw in the top and remove it for cleanout, well done and thanks! Cheers Al

Who needs a lathe, Just an air line
@@WoodenItBeNice haha we are on to something here 🤣
I also have the Wen 3410. Got it about 7 yrs ago. Have it in the area of all my sanders. Works really good with the wading dust. About 6 monthes ago, I added a 2nd unit. Placed it near the lathe. For when I'm sanding. It helped with the wading dust, when sanding on the lathe.
@@richardgerhard7559 they are really good for that fine airborne dust👍 Thanks for the support
I like looking at small shops, to see how others set-up shop. Since, I also have a small shop. I like to get ideas, for my shop. Looks a lot roomier & cleaned up now. I clean up & vacuum when done for the day. Helps the shop to be much more pleasant to work in.
@@richardgerhard7559 thank you I must admit I get lazy at clean up time 🤣
Great work Luie, bowl looks very nice!!
@@tfturning Thanks!!😊
Thanks so much man. You are so calm, humble and down to earth. I am just starting out and have already spent so much money on the lathe, chucks, grips, tools and a grinder. I just can't afford to spend more in the sharpening jigs and platform. I hope I can make my own just like you. Cheers buddy.
@@PetefoggyTurner Hello, I truly enjoy working on my lathe and I hope you will find as much pleasure as I do. I truly appreciate you watching and commenting Thank you,
Nice jig!

@@Bramsshed1913 thanks trying to get the word out
One more question and I have to go for now, but does this work well on its own for now? Not able to afford the total dust collector set up but I find this very affordable for now. What cha think? Been looking these up for days and wasn’t sure what and how much it collects. I shop vac at the end of the day but air quality is most important. I appreciate the set up demo. Thanks -Michele
@@michelesmith1645 I do feel that it helps with the real fine dust ( and that is the dangerous one) it won’t keep your shop clean but it helps. I also have a box fan in a window
Have the same lathe! Was display so it has a few issues. Any and all videos with maintenance or fix’s are huge help. Any help with slight noise and vibration help would be appreciated! Thank for you channel! -Michele
@@michelesmith1645 Thank you so much! I actually made two right angle brackets from L channel and bolted them to the legs and wall and made it much more stable👍
Do think if I made a platform for me and the lathe, bolted it to platform, my weight on the platform would do the trick? I do not have very stable wall and garage floor is concrete. My turning problems and troubles book got lost in the mail. 🙃 Not great with the hacks and fixes yet! Sorry to bug you.
@@michelesmith1645 no bother The legs of your lathe should have bolt holes in it to attach to the floor. What I did there was attached a piece of plywood to the floor with construction adhesive. So basically the same train of thought you are having. There are those blue concrete screws you can get at hardware store. They work awesome
This is great!! Just started and this has been quite the expensive therapy to get set up to say the least! But all money saved is so appreciated. Do you know anything about lung and eye protection? Goggles ✅ Respirator ✅ Turned half project last night and today the whole garage has a thin layer of dust over everything. I use to be the one cutting the wood not working with it. You fell the tree you take everything off after until you cut your next. Thanks for doing what u do! -Michele
@@michelesmith1645 Thank you so much! I am not very familiar with the “air masks” I use a N-95 mask with a face shield I picked up on Amazon
Coooool 👍
@@mclas11 THANK YOU!!😊
You made the wood come to life. 👍 🫡
@@mclas11 Thank you for your support 👍😊
Well done. I’ll make one!
@@robd7703 Thanks! Good luck 👍
I woke up thinking about how I would make a sharpening jig. Your video has me excited about getting started. Thanks again
@@robd7703 that makes me so happy that I was able to help you! I hope you luck 🍀 Thank you!
Nice. I love it. It has tons of character with that grain and the shape is perfect. I can’t wait to get back into my shop to turn. This makes me want to turn right now. Thanks for sharing.
@@duaneheadworth6275 Thank you! I appreciate that!👍
@@spindlesworkshop9744 I will be on the lookout for some osage Orange. I have only had a small hollow branch to turn but I loved it. That grain on the 45 degree angle on yours is very eye catching. I was also happy with you saving the inside of the walnut piece. It will be another asset later.
