I owned one a couple of year's ago. It was a 92 with 50k miles on the clock. I bought it from a very elderly old man who barely drove it since he bought it brand new back in the day so i got lucky, it sat for a while so i had to restore and replace some parts but i had it running like a top in no time. I didn't even have the car a year before someone ran a red light and struck me. I was devastated when i lost the car since my brother had 2 of these and i had a lot of memories with the Acura Vigor. A month after that a buddy felt bad and sold me his Acura Legend which I still own today.

I got a 2006 TL for free from my Uncle.Yes it’s just the base model but even the base version is a lot of fun.Truthfully in my opinion Acura should go back to making the 3rd gen TL.I know that will probably not happen but would be cool.

I'm an 80 baby and I miss this era of cars 😢 everything were purposeful and elegantly implemented. Now every car looks the same, very boring and generic, plastic-y and the replacement of analog things. Not a big fan of modern cars, only a few.

Did this clear the p0420 code? I just replaced distributor on Gen 1 crv and next day threw p0420 but scan at local parts store indicated bad cat or o2 sensor. I had a hunch it was related to new distributor but hadn’t heard that code referenced in distributor timing tuning work until this video. Did code clear once you fixed timing or did you also need to replace o2 sensor in addition? Thank you!

You have a small but important technical detail backwards about how i-VTEC works, based on the comment regarding variable valve timing on the exhaust cam: the i merely implies that VTC is employed on top of VTEC itself. “But what’s the difference?”You may ask. Welp, it is here: - VTEC is a system that hydraulically moves a pin in the rocker arm assembly of a camshaft that has two sets of lobe profiles. Two lobes are used for low speed and load operation where low end torque, emissions, and fuel economy are prioritized. There is a third lobe (a single big lobe for two valves) that actuates the rocker arm when VTEC is enabled, that is used for high RPM situations. This could be considered VVT in the point of view that the valve events change, but that is not really how actual VVT works. Think of this as swapping a set of hot cams on the fly. There are other versions like the J series SOHC VTEC that work slightly differently, but the operating principle is basically the same. K series of the CL9 generation (K24A2) have VTEC on the intake and exhaust cams. Later K24Zs only have it on the intake valves. Okay, so VTC: this is actual VVT. It varies the rotational position of the camshaft relative to the crankshaft, without altering the cam lobe profile. No lift or duration changes, just the timing of the opening and closing action of the valves. In this case, VTC only exists in the intake side of K series engines except for the latest generation turbo DI engines. As an aside, those are much more similar to the L-series engine than a K-series, but the nomenclature is done primarily for marketing wank purposes. Hope the explanation makes sense!

I have a 1990 Honda Accord LX Sedan. It is beige and is a 5-Speed manual. I really want a 9.5th Gen Accord.

I had an 87 coupe with the manual. It was so good and fast. The only thing that let Acuras down was all the Accord and Civic switch gear made them feel too down market but the engineering was too notch.

Great video. I will say though, I kinda wish you had mentioned the concept model and how disappointing that we got what we got for the first generation.

I was a kid and ALWAYS loved the Legend and a few other cars. First car ended up being a cb7 Accord in 2007 and I still have one, but I was waiting for the right Legend when I found a 1/800 6 speed GS sedan needing work. It's a long term project but what a great car it is and it felt great to finally get one. It fits right in with my e30 and Mazda 929 too.

The CRX managed to be a pocket-size sports car and an economy car. It was affordable, practical and fun. The del Sol was significantly more expensive, heavier and much more complicated. The cramped interior didn't help either. It was the anti-CRX (just like the CR-Z many years later). I worked with a lady who had a black '95 del Sol S (automatic). I drove it once and it immediately understood why it flopped. Having owned a '85 and '90 CRX, it didn't even feel like a Honda.

I have had my 06 6spd non Navi for 5 years now, with 161k. I have had to do a bit of maintenance just wear parts like the front end and brakes and stater and clucth mc/slave, random sensors. Im a mechanic myself so it’s not too expensive. I plan to drive it for another 7-10 years if not beyond. I drove Integras for many years before this and it felt like the perfect upgrade!

Always wanted one especially the manual transmission. Just couldn't afford it back then as even one with a million miles was expensive.

Well done video. I still love my second generation Integra. I'd have to say the second gen is my personal favorite but there is no denying the success of the third gen, they were definitely where Acura peaked in the sport compact scene.
