In my opinion, this scene wraps up their entire relationship. It's literally them in a nutshell. Louis wants to hurt Lestat but is so overly captivated and entranced by him that he can't do anything but sit and lose his breath. Lestat, watching Louis intently with his eyes that show everything ranging from need to lust, but there always being someone else he is with, in this case, Lily, in their entire relationship, it was Antoinette. But his eyes, his love, are always towards Louis, even if his body, or in this case, hands and lips, are on someone else.

Lestat is like one of those reddit husbands tbh, wants an open marriage but gets mad when the wife gets more action
