I wonder often what could of become of them if Louis wasn't attached to Lestat or had still been human. They could've really had a nice little life together maybe.
The quiet intimacy of this scene makes it one of the sexiest to me. I just love their closeness, their dialog. All the words that are said in their looks at one another. Lestat had every single reason to be jealous.❤
I felt that way, until Lestat dragged Louie by his neck. He beat him so bad. I couldn't even watch all of it. Nobody deserves to be beat like that ever. He beat him over his love for Claudia. What if it's another man. I like Lestat but he is a very toxic vampire. The next time he will kill him for sure.

Everyone is saying the scene is hot (and it is) but it's also so beautiful and deep. Two Black queer men living at the edges of society coming together to lose themselves in each other outside of the violently racist and homophobic world they lived in. It was powerful how they introduced Jonah by having him navigate the streets with No Colored signs at every turn. He eventually found welcome in Louie's embrace. And later when Louie tells Lestat about their shared history only makes it more potent. Lovers choosing danger every time they came into contact. Just really deep. And the music choice!! Made me tear up.
I really liked the scene, as it shows a new perspective for Louis. Jonah's arrival was a breath of life for Louis, and they challenged the racism and homophobia of a hypocritical world. But what's more, they challenged Lestat's powers. Louis felt on the same wavelength, relating to a man like him, black like him. Something he didn't feel with Lestat, this made him happy, he expressed his desire for this handsome man and this soured the relationship with Lestat. Louis doesn't like to feel inferior, and being in a relationship with a white person makes him feel bitter.
Jonah might have been better for Louis than Lestat or Armand. But Louis's tragedy is that he keeps falling for men like Lestat and Armand, charismatic, hedonistic, seductive, demanding, controlling, possessive men who act like they give a lot when actually they take a lot for him. Either way I liked Jonah.
For sure, Jonas would be an excellent company for Louis. To me, he should vampirize Jonas, turn him, and live with him, and leave Lestat forever .Would be wonderful . However, knowing Lestat, his possessive love, he would kill Jonas, as he did Lily. But, there is a plot with Lestat, they are soulmates (incredible, but they are)
Sorry, Lestat. I think this is the hottest kiss on the show. Their chemistry is off the chart. To the point where I want to see more of their next story. It's remarkable that Louis creates a chemistry with anyone he meets, whether mortal or immortal. No wonder Lestat was jealous and anxious.
I swear I could have written this response. I agree with you. At first I wondered why Lestat was so jealous until I went back and watched (and watched and watched) and oh man… I could see it and feel it. The way that Louis looked at Jonah and he looked at Louis. My lord, I was sweating.
In the same episode where Louis talks to Daniel in the present, Louis did mention he saw him decades later. This was in the 1917. Maybe they will cross paths in Europe during WW2? Timeline would fit, and if Jonah stayed in the military, it would make sense if he did run into Jonah in Europe.
Jonah is so cute and hearing him talk with that accent is the icing on the cake ❤. Yeah Lestat (even tho he asked for it) response was understandable considering he is does make it hard for Louis to want to have fun with him.

I think this relationship with Jonah was good for Louis. It was a response to Lestat's lust and arrogance, rubbing it in his face that he is not the only one who catches Louis' attention. The fact that Jonah was black like him was a danger for Lestat, because for Louis it is less "sinful" to live with someone like him, he would identify better (remembering that racism was strong) than with a white person. Lestat felt the blow and tried to fight back, making Louis regret this relationship, no matter how much he likes Lestat. His dislike for Lestat grew greater, and for this he began to be passive aggressive towards him, disapproving everything he did, gradually excluding him from his relationship with the arrival of Claudia, who would be a "band aid" for their relationship.
😏; Lestat dishes it out but can't take it... (I would be afraid for anyone who even trys to get close to Louis.) see what he did to Ms. Lily, and the priest!.., and they weren't even sleeping with him!

Like i kind felt like another black gay character would be alot, but this is so nuanced. The "do you ever think about the old days". Its the crack in his voice, and the air of vulnerability he's allowing himself to have. It hits home how sometimes we have to hid especially if your black amoung your peers when you have to be hard. I can see why Lesant got jealous cause this scene melts my heart man
The one thing that stresses me out in this show…to everyone who clearly knew Louis before he was a vampire, why did no one comment that his eyes went from brown to very bright green? Like that’s a red flag right there😂

louis got on my nerves with his victim mentality. i hate people who are willing in relationships, having no squeams about the benefits (lestat’s money, he didnt hesitate to ask lestat to change claudia) but then the minute u ask them about their partner its ‘oh i hate them im trappedddd’ 🙄
someone commented on Jan Gaye's autobiography (she was Marvin Gaye's second wife) that "some people want to be happy but they destroy it because they feel that they're not entitled to happiness'. some people want the attention of the victim, some feel like they don't deserve to be happy because of something that happened to them in their lives, in Louis's case being gay or bi in a time when you could be arrested and much worse for being gay or bi.
The Claudia thing was the worst because Lestat was explicitly against making her and said she was too young. Louis always ignored Lestat’s counsel yet accused him of withholding.
I, myself, am surprised how many sexually alluring men Louis drew to himself. Even Daniel couldn't say no to a 2nd interview, even if it killed him. Too bad Louis didn't recognize this power he had (seen only briefly with Jonah) when he was younger. He could have had Lestat on his knees for all eternity.

Love Louis and Lestat but Louis really needed to go find Jonah after episode 5 for awhile.
