Very nice, thanks for the descriptions w/timeline.
Yes, casting canopy roof complete. Originally thought something "hot and heavy" would go on the deep foundation in front of the metal wall there, but with this roof, whatever goes under there will be heavy, for sure, but likely not "hot." Good detail catch of that gantry crane (if I am looking at the right place, unloading a long trailer). Is that one plastic wrapped box (being approached by forklift) really a megapack? I don't notice any others. Wonder what that one (or those) would be used for right there?
@@WarrenLacefield Casting canopy. Furnace waste, recycling is my best guess for this area. Gantry crane. Yes the long trailer. One component still on the apron in Joe's latest. Megapack. You're probably right. Not really bid enough. Joe has been told that Megapacks are being shifted inside. His intel is that this is for Cybertruck charging. If they are running any of the Cortex there might be a daytime shortage of power, so some megapacks might be used to bolster the daytime power supply.
@@WarrenLacefield If you go to Brad's 24 October video at 13.03 the yellow furnace tender vehicle is seen in the foreground. To the right is the slag scraper and receiving bin. The box attaches to the front of the vehicle, and the scraper pulls the slag or other material out of the furnace and into the bin. That waste then needs to be removed from the bin for disposal/recycling. That is one of the processes I think will happen under this canopy. Not a melting operation, but hot material cooling. Gets what must be a reasonably dangerous process out of the building, but still undercover.
@@WarrenLacefield Snooping around I find a company RIA Cast House Engineering. One of their products is a rail mounted furnace charging and skimming machine. Might explain the rail system into Casting. Finding it really difficult to locate the exact furnace tending vehicle seen in Brad's video.
Did they remove the privacy fence @ the back of the parking structure? I have been watching fewer videos from the other Giga Texas channels. The ones I've watched have avoiding showing the parking structure.

WoW... thanks for the Updates...😊
You're most welcome 👍
Can I visit the outside area?
Does anyone know why there is no rail-spur to GigaTexas? The cost to transport the vehicles seems unnecessary. Is a rail-spur planned in the future?
Welcome to USA with almost no rail infrastructure.
Useless cars. There's a reason why they barely sell. The truck does nothing.
So many boring ass cars.
what are those new cars? looks like non-tesla.
Look at all those unsold cars. Lmao
@@TheChadAbides O course, no other manufacturer anywhere has cars in stock before delivery. Troll.
I'm at the bottom of the CT waiting list, put my $100 deposit probably 9 months after the reveal and I have already been invited to get my CT by next month if I was to order one. That tells me they aren't selling. Yeah the rich folks that want to be special ordered theirs but now its just not selling. Kind of sad and I surely don't want to pay $80k for one. I would love to have one but not for that price, its just too much money to me. I have paid for vehicles so I'm good.
They're selling all they can make. They'll do fine without your order.
They are not suffering from lack of sales. They make cars in batches of similar color, interior, etc. It is likely they have a batch equipped to your spec ready, thus you got the nod. As the other poster implied, you are not punishing them by withdrawing your order. A pyrrhic victory for you alas.
@The_DuMont_Network I never said I was punishing anyone did I? Your insinuating some nonsense.
@@The_DuMont_Network I never insinuated I was punishing anyone, where do you get that idea from? I just said Its to expensive for me. I have two paid for trucks that suit my needs and a paid for Model 3 so there is zero need to drop $80k on a CT.
I didn't know Gigafactory Tejas had a train yard.
It doesn't. This is the RCR Logistics Park in Taylor, TX. A few miles North of The Gigafactory. Even though the water tower says Hutto, it is all in Taylor, as is the new Samsung Chip Fab under construction a little bit to the East. HUGE facility goimg in there, and a tremendous boost to a formerly moribund little city.
A lot of the CT’s look a bit dusty, they need to drop the price to some place near the Reservation Cost, even if the range is only 340 not the promised 400+
The fact that the railyard and Giga Texas have lots of exposed dirt is why they're dusty, not because of the list price. 🙄
Commodities get dusty in transport. Vehicles are detailed before delivery to the customer. Tesla isn't the first brand to ship a car. Years ago vehicles were shipped on open flatbed trailers and railcars. Autoracks were not originally totally enclosed. Chevy once shipped a model vertically, sans some fluids, standing on its rear. That didn't last long.
Seems like Tesla is building out the logistics of vehicles manufacturing with the west side end-of-line finishing and testing processes, and a distribution point.
The loading area for the Portable Parking Lots is more than double the size of the original The new site frees up a lot of space in the assembly plant. If they ever get the tunnel finished, it should boost the throughput somewhat.
One of those is mine!
That new tilt up building looks like it's going to have the rail line go inside the building.
@rtz549 That's not unusual.Been a practice for many years.
At 4:48 on that heavy rail car; is that the transformer for the Tesla plant or something else?
4:48. Good spot. Extra heavy duty low-loader on standby. First class bragging rights for you if it shows up at GT!
I think the cars are the Volkswagen ID seven and SUVs is the Chevy EV equinox
I would think they would be from a manufacturer with a plant in the area. IIRC Toyota is in San Antonio but am not aware of Nissan or VW or anyone else in Texas save GM in Arlington?
They would be coming from the same factory, so someone making both sedans and compact SUVs. I see door handles, so I don't think that's an Equinox EV.
I think the SUVs that we don’t know what they are. I think those are the new equinox EV from Chevy. If you go look at the pictures, they look really freaking similar now I don’t know what the cars are. I’m fixing to look that up.
I think they're ICE vehicles. It looks like you can see the door handles. The equinox EV has the Tesla type handles. Also, if they are Chevy(GM) cars what is the sedan? Malibu?
GOES TO PROVE THE CONSUMER IS NOT IN LOVE WITH TESLA
Because Tesla is shipping lots of vehicles? Was your comment meant to be sarcastic? Because otherwise it makes no sense.
Tesla sold 1.8 million EVs in 2023. That's more EVs than Ford sold in trucks.
I just got the email yesterday that my preorder is ready!!!
I believe the rock from under which you crawled is ready for you to return. If you are so Anti Tesla, why are you here? Hmmm?
@@trigger2142Mazel Tov! The hours will creep by until you get behind the wheel. We've all been through it. Time seems to stand still.
Why do some cars look like ID.4 station wagon design. Is this a new Tesla model ????😮
No. No new car or truck models are expected from Tesla for a few more years; there are only tweaks being made to the Model Y, coming in early to mid-2025.
Tesla doesn't own the auto ramp area of the rail yard, so any car manufacturer can use it. It didn't look like any Teslas were mixed in with those other cars being loaded in that autorack. Both GM and Toyota make trucks or large SUVs in Texas, so those don't match. These cars are most likely coming from Mexico. It looks like a few of them had missing wheel covers. They also have peel off paint protection on the roof and/or hood/trunk which might indicate they have been transported a long distance. Definitely doesn't look like any design Elon would approve. Kia/Hyundai seems to be the most likely manufacturer as their plant is closest to Texas.
CN Railways... That's coming to Canada
Not necessarily. Train consists draw cars from a national pool. You see mixes cars of all roads and other ownership all over.
Wow! I count about 500 to be loaded.
Big question is whether that many are there just because they can’t load the trains fast enough, or if some of them are unsold inventory.
@@Frank-gt7me There are a number of reasons for storage surges. Shipping logistics are quite complicated.
Can't tell if its a disguised extended row new model y or a disguised regular new model y. I'm thinking the latter. Too bad there isn't a zoomed in view. The crew put a high priority to get them off the lot first.
"Extended row" WHAT, exactly? If you're talking about a third row in a Model Y, that wouldn't change the outward appearance of the vehicle. There is no 'new' Model Y either, or we'd see one coming out of the Giga Texas factory already with great fanfare, or coming from Freemont, and not going OUT on a train from this railyard.
Tesladoes NOT have the excusive use of the RCR Logistics loading facility. It is NOT owned by Tesla. While the practice of mixing brands in Autoracks is uncommon, it is not unheard of. The railroad is a common carrier.
Why are people driving the cyber trucks out of the factory? If FSD is go great why not have them drive themselves and park themselves in that massive lot? Cant be that hard it program them to drive down the road. Come on tesla thats a no brainer. Very inefficient system.
Those arent people...😮
It’s complex. Try writing step by step detailed instructions for how each car would do this .
driven by robots
@@jamskinner waymo and FSD literally do that everyday. They just did it at the robotaxi event. I get driving it into the train but out of the factory and into a parking spot should be beyond easy for them. I run a robotics team and we can do it so tesla certainly can do the same.
FSD isn't fully autonomous yet, so there would still be a need for a human being to be in the driver's seat, even if he/she did nothing. Same goes for any other vehicle manufacturer or company working on autonomous driving systems for cars. Each unmanned individual vehicle would need to be issued a permit by some governmental entity to drive on the road. The robotaxi event was held on a Hollywood backlot, a closed and controlled environment, and not in a real cityscape. By asking, you seem not to know any of this. If you run a robotics team, then why aren't your robots just set loose upon the world? If you are being truthful about it, then you should know the answer to your own question, and if not, then folks should be concerned about the work YOU are doing.
Are those volvos c40????
The styling on these new cars don't look like something Tesla would design. Some don't even look EV. Maybe they're other manufacturer cars just sharing the lot.
2:40 those are Both Nissans one new kicks and a Sentra or Altima I really can’t tell but I know the Altima comes with a painted black roof with some colors so I’m going with that
It was shown months ago that a japjob brand was also using the facility, ISTR Toyota, but perhaps not. Tesla does not own the facility, it is part of the RCR Taylor Logistics Paek. I do find it unusual to see brands mixed, but likely the string is going to similar facility where vehicles will be sorted.
What are all the tents for?
I'm not exactly sure- I could only guess they might be for last minute testing/detailing.
Likely security, protection against the elements, or hiding "new" models from prying eyes. My Model 3s can get over 140 degrees inside on Summer days. Yes, we see there area lot of cars in the open, perhaps some are known to be scheduled to sit longer before shipment. I don't see power or infrastructure supporting workers, thus I doubt there is any work performed inside. We are not even sure they are Tesla related.
It could be a model 2 or model 3 hatchback version.
No. Tesla is not shipping any vehicles other than what they actually make: The Model Y and Cybertrucks are the only things it makes at Giga Texas. The other vehicles they produce (Model S, Model X, and Model 3) are made in California, while the Semi is made in Nevada. There simply is no hatchback version of the Model 3 and there is no "Model 2."
WTF is it at 2:25?
Seriously....looks like a Mini Cooper a bit? But what the heck is it doing there...
@@GOVAUS1 could be a dealer transfer
@@trails3597Not all Autoracks are exclusively booked. A broker supplies them for transpot on a common carrier. Mixing of brands is uncommon but not forbidden. They are destined for a similar facility for sorting and forwarding. Fir example, my Model 3s were trucked from Fremont to a railhead, then via train to West Memphis, then trucked to Dallas. There are other brands sorted in that yard.
GM SUVs in Dallas area?
Great video. What are these non Tesla cars. Is there a car manufacturer near by?
I was wondering myself. Searched for new styles, found the "Model Y Juniper", but none really resembled it. At least from an aerial perspective.
On one of Joe T’s first railyard flights there were rows of non-Tesla cars on the south end of the lot (near where the big tents are now). He said then that another manufacturer was using the railyard to unload their cars from the trains and then reload them on trucks to take to local dealers. Since then, I thought Tesla became the exclusive user of the area, but perhaps I was mistaken on that.
@@AirwaveDynamics The Model Y "Juniper" doesn't exist yet, except maybe in prototype form, and those would be shipping out of the Freemont California plant accompanied by significant fanfare by Tesla watchers. Given the changes seen on the Model 3 earlier this year, it's likely the most notable changes to the model Y would be subtle ones in the front end and taillights, so they wouldn't look remarably different than the current Model Y, especially when viewed from above.
@@alanrivaldo-hTesla ships prototypes and other "secret" work by covered trailer for obvious reasons. Fremont MAY be the origin of the refreshed and new models, I believe the design facility is still in The People's State of California. I believe the CT prototypes were buikt in Texas, tho.
@Frank-gt7me Indeed. This is not for Tesla's private use, nor is it owned by Tesla.

what drone are you using? Fantastic video!
Wonder if they are working on FSD version so the cars can load themselves.
Would make much more sense to develop a system of loading the vehicles one rail car at a time and then moving the rail car laterally to build the segments. Eliminate the need to drive the vehicles the length of the segment and having a van pick the drivers up.
