...me?
I'm no pro. I'm not semi-pro. I'm a stoked watersports lover.
I like long walks on the beach.
I like to wingsurf. ------ I really like to wingsurf waves at Nahant.
I'm getting into downwinding.
I used to be a kiter.
I'm not supposed to post videos of sessions in Rhode Island.
I love telling stories.
A while back, I challenged myself to make a new video every week and post on Fridays. Wow. A couple years later, I'm still doing it. It's a constant lesson of creating something on a deadline, being OK with imperfections, and moving on. It's kinda hard. It's fun. I've learned so much. Met so many awesome people. Had some epic experiences. I'm stoked. I'm just riding the wave.
I'm super passionate about winging and wingsurfing. I'm just trying to spread the stoke as I move forward. Let us inspire each other along the way and have some awesome days.
The ocean binds us together. And we are bound to it. We are forever heading back to it. WE ARE OCEANBOUND.

testing the DWP930 foil in waves
hey folks! I've been so sick. it's been so cold. so the fact I was able to make it out for a wave sesh, edit, and release a video today (Friday) totally blows my mind. we humans are resilient, we just have to get ourselves out there. so I'm stoked I got to actually paddle with this DWP930 foil. winging with it was OK but not that noteworthy. so the plan is to use this instead of the 1180, if I can make this work it should be better a better experience all around, right? I'm trying to figure that out.

yes, I know this wing came out over a year ago. a series of random and weird events made this thing hard to get enough sessions to review. from delays to other demos to popped bladders to parawing exploration... it's been a trip. but now I'm at about 15 sessions with this PPC M1 5m and I feel like I could confidently review it. and just before the buzzer, I'm staring at you 2025! so as much as ...

it's been such a boring Fall! Where'd our wind go? What about the waves? we've had a few sessions here and there riding vert but it's not the conditions we are used to around here. so as it's now December, we are all a little desperate for some Nahant wave riding. and our standards are low. so it won't take much to make us happy. so as a system comes through, it's certainly not ideal and kinda ...

I haven't been able to get this video out with my busy schedule, so I'm taking a week off OCEANBOUND'ing to get 'er done. Thanks for bearing with me on this... The GHOST TRAIN is a super fun train run in New Hampshire. You have 30 hours to run as long as you want. This is the only race I run all year; it's the only one I care about! Someone should really do some weight comparisons of well used wings actual weight when wet. I noticed the same thing in my F-ones, amazing when new, so light and dry but now they take a long time to dry off and that weight has to add up. If PPC materials are actually “waterproof” that would be a big deal in terms of weight even though they look heavy on paper.
Hey bud, its me again! Is it much better this CWC v4 6m than your 7M Ventis? Is it much lighter or feels lighter than the Ventis? I have the opportunity to grab a 7m Ventis in Pink which I like a lot. What about the grunt and feel in comparison? I am after a low wind weapon. Thank you in advance for your awesome vids! Please keep it up! 10:16 10:16 10:16 10:16 10:16 10:16
Hi, recently lisfranc'd active person here. Thank you for posting this and I'm glad you got back to sport! Just curious did you have a ligament tear, or avulsion fracture, or regular fracture, combo? Just curious. Still no arthritis? My pre surgery appointment is Thursday, just researching stuff...thanks!!!
Sup bud! What surgery are they planning? K wires? Fusion? I had those wires, which were def annoying but healed well. I’d say I’m 100% back with no arthritis, I’ve done multiple 60 mile runs since and my foot was never something that acted up. As for what I had… it’s been a while so I’m not 100% sure. I basically pulled out/dislocated the 3-5 metatarsals and there was a hairline fracture on number 1. I don’t think there was ligament damage. I kinda consider myself lucky. My foot was “swollen” for a long time after, many shoes wouldn’t fit for like a year. And I do wish I started running a little earlier than I did, but that’s gonna be different for everyone. Good luck on your surgery! I wish you a speedy recovery.
Wow, 60 mile runs! I am not a runner but want to go back to my daily bharatanatyam training at age 45 lol. I will find out surgery options tomorrow. I have a feeling it will be a combo of hardware and tightrope. Sounds like you didn't wait until pain free to go on with sports? How much PT did you do? Thanks!
@ I’d say the worst surgery would be fusion, where the kinda fuse a bunch of your bones together with a plate. Try to avoid that if at all possible, but if it’s your only option then it is what it is. I had k wires in for 8 weeks. I could barely put pressure on my foot during that time and wore a brace, but as soon as they were out I was walking almost right away with a brace and doing sports (kite foiling, winging) with the brace as soon as the holes healed over. I didn’t really do much PT cause it was the beginning of COVID so that wasn’t an option. And like it said, I wish I didn’t wait so long to run. I wish I pushed that a little earlier because it just helped with mobility. No lie: the 8 weeks felt like it took forever. I had to rely on my family a lot, and I’m not used to that. It sucked. But then it got better. So just being real, you may have some dark days in your recovery, but there will be better days. Surround yourself with people you love. It’s humbling and I hope I never go through it again but I learned a lot about myself and it definitely made me stronger on the other side. Good luck bud!
@@OCEANBOUND1 Thanks so much, have a great new year!
Wait, what? After leaving us hanging on the whole big wing dilema series it turns out you actually went with a ventis? Maybe I missed something there but it looks really sweet with those big articulated handles. Maybe I missed something but I think the people deserve a CWC/Ventis final showdown! Love the big foil comparison BTW. I still want a freaking 1675 just to know what that feels like and mess around with dock starts, and wake foiling all over the damn place. I am 200 lbs.
Hahaha yeah I silently kinda went with the Ventis. Which I still have. But I have only used it once or twice in the last year, cause i can usually make smaller wings work with the ML or DW boards now. The Ventis is great, and I went with it because of the handles. The newer CWC is great with handles, but the Ventis handles are longer and I prefer the length of the front one, but the FOne handles have a nice grip and shape. If I were to do a showdown, it makes the most sense to use the newest models. It could work, that all depends on my wing dealer’s generosity. The 1675 is great but for dock starting and whatnot the 1350 may be better. It’s so much easier to turn the 1350. But man, I’m out of shape now and I was paddling today and totally wished I had the 1675!
@ I am very tempted by those new duotone handles! The new unit may end up being what I go to after retiring my strike 5.5 but I’m also keeping an eye on the “budget” PPC. For those of us trapped on flat water the longer boards just don’t make much sense I feel and the bigger wings are still a necessity. It will be a tough choice for me between these big foils but at 200 lb I keep thinking the 1350 just won’t deliver the stall speed and pump I want. I find it strange that the wingspan is the same and yet they turn so differently but if I end up disappointed with the turning of the 1675 at least you gave me fair warning. I expect to find one used so I don’t mind rolling the dice some compared to the price of a new 1180.
Good morning from Germany, what size of parawing do you recommend compared to a wing. I have not the best pumping skills…but a midlength and DW Board. In 15-20 knots I use a 5 core halo wing with the f one 105 liter midlength board and a seven seas 1500 foil. What would be the right size for the BRM parawing? Below 15 knots I use 6 Halo or even 7 CWC. You see: I prefer to be overpowered once flying but better flying overpowered then pumping forever…..Thanks for an advice!
Sup bud! Sorry, just seeing this comment. The parawings are weird. IMO once you go bigger than a 4m I think it starts to feel big and is harder to manage. I bought a 5.1m and def wish I got a 4m instead. That said, you will need enough wind, I’m guessing like over 16 knots to get started for a 4m. This is not a light wind activity. And I guess the final question is are you going to try to use it all the time, or in mostly DW conditions? If you aren’t planning on doing DW runs with it and working on stowing it and whatnot, you can get away with a bigger size. But winging is better IMO for most other things besides DW, I still prefer that and have decided to only use PW on DW runs. I’m not sure if that helps or not. LMK if you have any other questions. Def let me know what you end up getting!
@ thanks! Great help: now Think i wait what comes on the market and test it before buying. Thanks again!! Also hear it’s hard to learn…and e g „Flow/Australia“ is better to deposit then the BRM which collapses soon when depowering the backleash ..(?). Did you try other gear?! Or will you? Thanks always good to watch your videos!!👍👍
You are a SAVAGE for going out in the snow. Damn! It looks cold. You'll get the 930 easy! 930 is waaaaay faster than 1180. 1180 has much more lift and is slower. Great to see you out there with paddle, as I can only remember seeing you Wing in past. You looking good out there. If you want to make the 930 feel easy, then ride the 755. :) So much of each foil is how it feels/compares to what you last rode. 120 tail feels pretty good as well. Keep Rippin!!!! Aloha!!!
Sup bud! Thanks for the comment 🙏 I am def intrigued with these dwp foils, I held off getting one for so long but I’m glad I have it now. It’s just gonna take a little time to get used to it. How do you think the 930 turns compared to the 1180? I don’t have a problem turning the 1180, but the 930 is a little wider and so much different. It felt a little weird going down the line with the 930… like going sideways across the waves and turning on them felt different. So I can see how it’s more for pointing downwind in swells, but I’m hoping it will just get easier on waves after a few sessions. Is the 755 more technical than the 680? Faster I take it? I just got the 120 the other day and in itching to ride it. So stoked. Thanks again bud, I wish you an awesome 2025!!
Great dedication J-man, glad to hear you’re back in the groove and on the water. Water that cold hitting your face defo makes you feel alive 🌊. HNY and keep up the great content….
Dude -- so hard core. Get a dry suit!
hahaha I have one! I just prefer to wing in wetsuits. thanks bud! I wish you an awesome New Year!!
The speeds are interesting. I have an 880 and run it with a 232 just cause it’s stable and easy. The best speed I can get is 14mph. Usually 12-13 cruising and spiking to 14. What makes you go faster? More wind? More wing? Better skill?
Pure stoke!! 😎👊👊 The 880 I can def get to rip into the 20’s. I haven’t spend tested it in forever but I’m guessing I could get it to like 24 or 25 going down the right wave. The v1 232 is def a little draggier than the newer ones. I would recommend using a red and a blue shim for the 232 and 205 tails. That makes them more efficient/less draggy. You may need to move your mast a little forward if you dont shim now. The next thing would be to get a smaller foil. The 140 is great, and way more user friendly than you’d think with its size. I used to ride all stabs with both shims and now I’m kinda going back to no shims on the 140, it’s still fast but slightly more stability. And the last thing, add lots of wind! Rig big and try flatwater and start to figure out what angles get the fastest speeds. I hope this helps! Thanks for the comment bud and I wish you an awesome 2025!!
4/3 wetsuit!?!? that's wild you're comfy in Boston waters with snow on the ground in a 4/3. hardcore
yamamoto baby! a shoutout to CrookedSurf.com for keeping me warm. honestly it's not super cold on days like this, the water is still around 40F so the air was actually colder. when the water gets down to 34F, sessions are brutal. totally gotta dig deep for enough stoke to go out in February :P thanks bud, I wish you an awesome new year!!!!
I have had over 200 sessions on the DWP685. My GOTO setup for winging in all conditions is paired with the 180 speed tail with a blue shim.No issue with pitch control at speed.I have the 140 dart and as you found the pitch control is average. l find the 180 has better pump and glide than the 140 which is the feel l prefer coming from the HA925 and HA1325. The HA 680 l have is hardly getting used. The DWP685 is better than the HA680 in marginal conditions. With a 6.8m l have just cracked the sub 10knts on this setup.
Sup bud! Thanks for this comment! 🙏 Really interesting you use the 685 so much and prefer it over the 680! That thing must rip. I’ll totally try the 936 with the 180 tail. That’s great to hear someone say, I used to love the 180 when it was the only one, then I loved the 140, and every time I’ve been back on the 180 I’m not super stoked, but I’ve had a feeling that it’d be good for downwinding and def with the 935. Dude you make me wanna get a 685 now! That’s something to look forward to 😜👊 Thanks again, I wish you an awesome 2025!!
Dwp 930 is a tricky one! It goes well in small Bumps DW, but I’ve yet to fully dial it in.
yeah I'm still figuring that foil out. I guess the pitch thing was at the really low speeds, just as I was getting it on foil and it seemed to go away at faster speeds. I'm stoked to learn more about it, and figure out when this comes out vs the 1180. you ride the smaller ones too, right?
Hi, man stocked to see you are out in cold waters, I was feeling bad about myself going out in 13 C ~ 55 F, but you totally rock with the snow on the beach 🤙 I've seen you riding F-One and Armstrong over the last year what are your thoughts on the both system, which one you would prefer to stick with in a long run?
lol thanks bud! It was… refreshing! Bht necessary, stoked I got out. Tough question about the systems! Easy answer is a prefer Armstrong foils right now but I seem to dig the current FOne wings with handles. The Swing and Origin are my faves. I’m gonna pick one of those up next spring. Although I really kinda want a wave wing with a boom. At least I think I do. So I’m looking at trying a Gong Neutra, one of the new Duotone wave wings, and the Vayu Aura 3 in the next few months. If I love one of those, great! If not I’ll totally be grabbing an FOne when the prices come down a little. If I had to pick a company to stay with, it’d prolly be FOne. But I’m so heavily invested in the Armie system that I’m happy to stay here. That will prolly last till I try a Code foil. Lol. Trying not to try one of those, since I foresee that being an expensive sesh 😜👊👊 are you just getting into winging or already been here and looking around?
@ thanks for sharing I am semi seasoned rider in multiple foil disciplines. I currently have experience with FOne sk8 and eagle and eagle x and looking to explore alternatives my main focus is on efficiency in pumping. I hopefully will get some hands soon on some code foil setups but I also like the Armstrong team vibe and always curious how it goes since the setup looks highly optimized, lightweight and very performant. The never ending pursuit 😌
@ never ending!! I personally loved the sk8 and the eagle X foils the most. I do think the sk8 pumps good for how fun it is. And the Eagle X… they need to come out with like two larger sizes and I’d be totally stoked. I feel like that 1000 is great but most of us could use something with slightly more lift in the low end. The Armie stuff has been good to me. Every new line has perfectly matched my progression at the time. So I’m super stoked on the HAs now. They are great for what I need them to do. But these guys who ride Codes… are the foils that good or is it just that everyone good happens to ride Code? Grass is always greener, but in general I’m haply where I am. I dont think you could go wrong with any of the 3. Maybe I’ll buy a Code setup next summer and just have a little but if everything for a quiver 😂👊👊
Wild getting out in the cold like that:p keep it up!
@@pheelers1831 dude it’s cold! I can’t believe it’s winter again. I wasn’t really ready for it. 2024 kinda went out with a fizzle but 2025 has some potential. I’m stoked? I wish you Ana awesome New Year bud!!
The Smik V4 is one I'd like to try. Out of stock here in NZ at the moment, good price and non-stretch panel layout. Their V1s got rave reviews so I'm really curious as to the progression.
Whoa I’ve never heard of a Smik! They look cool. Although they call them Wing Dings on their website, that’s a little 2020. I couldnt find a realistic weight for them, but you’d think it’d be a heavier wing cause the canopy material is so much thicker. I’m a big fan of flat wings. I bet I’d be into it. I’ll have to keep an eye out to see if anyone carries them around here. Thanks bud, I wish you an awesome New Years!!
@@OCEANBOUND1 Same, Love your content on here.
Bro!!!! Jeremy, I have watched this video at least 20 times now. It was a great session and I feel so happy and stoked for you. The conditions seemed very cool and such an awesome set of connections - sweet! The sun was out too, nice! Stay stoked - Aloha
Woot woot! Thanks bud 🙏🙌 it was a magical sesh, and I really haven’t had one like that since. I totally look forward to the next glassy sesh, let’s hope for twice as many in 2025! Thanks bud, I wish you an awesome New Years!
I just put money down on the prerelease of the Blue Planet surf Super Fly wings that come out in April. $200 off if you preorder before new years gets it under 800 with free shipping. Looks like a XPS variant but in orange yellow red. I saw Robert ripping on one in a race we had here In Kailua when he would usually use an Ozone for racing. I'll let you know how it is after I get mine.
sup bud! I was looking at the Super Flies! I'm def intrigued, I expect Robert wouldn't put something out if he didn't like riding it, and I feel like I ride somewhat similar to him. so I'm sure it's a good wing, it's hard for me to commit now to buy before I try. I've been burned the last few times I did that. so for now I'll maintain my super-curiosity and live vicariously through you :) I'm sure you'll love it. thanks for watching and the comment and I wish you an awesome holiday week!!
Im like, you mate rolling wings in surf. You know yout going to put a foil through it at some point .I totally agree that normal dacron is lasting longer than the sails materials, I'm personally hoping hope the weave in the sails is improved and strengthened then used with the normal dracron frames to make a cheeper long lasting wing .i fancied trying wings with fancy material, but i was put off as the repairs are a lot harder and can't be done local 😊😊 Another great video, have a great holiday's mate. I'll speak soon
sup Chris?!? maybe someday companies will make frames with replaceable canopies that can just zip in. at least Gong is using fancy materials but their wings are so much cheaper. I'm still looking at a Neutra. maybe in the Spring. anyway, stay warm and I wish you and your crew an awesome holiday!
@OCEANBOUND1 they have some upe wings on sale in the great deals section from time to time ex demo, but they go quick but worth looking . I think I would just put a foil in it so I'm not even trying one haha 😅 good wind bro , have a awesome time with your family this hols.
I’ve recently upgraded my quiver from the Armstrong v2 to xps now that I’m nearly a year in and had my first foil through the canopy a couple of weeks back in super gusty conditions which I have managed to repair okay with sail tape but with how easily things go pair shaped when pushing boundaries the top end wings are probably something I’m going to avoid for a while yet.
awesome you have new XPS wings. I want to be clear, I really love the XPS wings too, they do everything well. the ONLY thing that keeps me from getting them is the handles, but that is prolly just cause of the shape of my fingers, it's personal preference. my friends has a whole quiver and just doesn't have the same experience, but he has longer fingers. and yeah, I'm with you. Alulla and all these other fancy materials are great in theory; I'd use them exclusively if money wasn't a factor. but I have a bad track record when it comes to breaking wings, and I just can't waste money on things with high price tags that I know I'll most likely destroy. thanks for watching bud, I wish you an awesome day!!
I am on 5.0 and 6.5 M1s that I got on discount right before the release of the M-1X. I agree with your assessment. I have been winging flat water so far and love the reponsive feel, the handles, durable canopy, and great upwind performance. It tacks great, but wants to rock when flagging. I have the 5.0 in repair for a bladder leak 6 sessions in. I also have had no luck with bladders in general - similar with Duotone, Ozone. I hate that we can't have better bladder technology (durability).
sup bud! I bet that 6.5m is awesome in light winds, I can imagine the power you can generate from that tight canopy. bummer about your bladder. a repair guy told me that the PPC bladders are very thin. it was weird when my strut popped - it was inflated for about 8-10 min and I was just about to hit the water and it just popped. there were like 6 people standing around it when it happened, we were all like WTF!?! that is my luck in a nutshell. I was so bummed when the LE popped first wave sesh. the good thing from that is that I needed a new bladder and they said the new one will be stronger. I had this assumption through their marketing that they'd be bomb-proof, but I guess no wing is bomb-proof. you live and you learn. thanks for watching and commenting bud, I wish you an awesome day!!
Cheers! Looks interesting! The price of repairs are crazy, here in Japan as well. I successfully repaired an 8inch horizontal tear in my Takuma leading edge with a Kitefix kit. The key was getting one of my hands inside the wing and hand sewing over the patched repair with marine thread to strengthen it. Wing on!
lol right on bud! I have a friend that repairs wings over here, but that repair was so complex and he's never dealt with Dyneema before so he didn't really want to touch it. awesome you were able to do it yourself. we session, we break wings, we repair them, we session again. circle of life, wing on!! lol. thanks bud, I wish you an awesome day in Japan!!
Really thorough review, well done bro. Interesting comments about the price of wings. Over here in NZ the original PPC surges were everywhere. They were good for their time, & great value of money. Many are still going strong. As they are getting on to 4years old now, most are getting pretty flagged out now. Interestingly the majority of wings I've seen replacing them aren't the newest & lightest with cutting edge materials but have been the V2 strikes as they are on sale most places as retailers are clearing space for the new generations. It must be hard for manufacturers to placate those on a budget as well as those wanting the best at the time.
thank bud! appreciated. I remember trying a PPC wing 3-4 years ago and I really liked it. it's funny you mention it, my local surf shop has some v2 Strikes and Swings on sale and I've been thinking about grabbing one. I don't mind the old handles and they were such good designs! a few years ago, all wings were under $1000. now you see companies selling new ones for over $1300 and they tend to be heavier and bag out just as quick and with the FOnes, now you have to buy $130 handles on top of a $1299 wing. when they were $700-$800, I could buy a quiver every year. I just can't afford multiple wings in a season anymore. I know costs are going up across the board, but they've gone up too quick IMO for winging and they say the quality is getting better and I'm just not seeing it. at least these PPCs are using different materials that probably costs more, so I get the higher prices on those. fingers crossed that some companies veer in a different direction and keep their prices down. I'll totally support that. Gong has been looking better and better. ok rant over. thanks so much for watching and commenting. I wish you an awesome day!!
Ooooph that’s a tough repair price! I nicked my M1 leading edge with a stabilizer and it was a 100$ repair, but I assume yours was a more complex job. Definitely think dyneema rips a little easier & feeling blessed about only having one repair. One of my favorite parts about this wing is it handles great overpowered. And is pretty grunty once you get used to the unusual pumping style(backwards circle motion?!). I don’t stress about choosing wing choice as much now and just use my 5m ppc instead of older 7 or 4m wings which I barely use now and will not be upgrading.
sup bud! yeah to be transparent the repair was $470 all said and done, which included the shipping BOTH ways. it was pretty mangled and required a new bladder too. totally bummed me out, but you pay to play, it's part of the game. oh man I totally agree, the thing handles like a champ overpowered. I cut a chunk out of my video where I explained this, but because it really likes to flag out horizontal and the fact the canopy is tight, dumping power with it is super easy. I totally agree that it's kinda that weird cabbage-patch pumping that seems to make it work the best in lighter winds. this 5m has such an awesome range! I'm def loving wings like this that can do so much but preform so well. thanks for the comment, I wish you an awesome day!!
Hwy man. Thank you so much for the video. Im planning to chanfe my v3 5.5 strike and considering wither this one in 6m or the origin 5.5. heard and read the origin has a lot of grunt but will that be equivalent to the CWC in 6m. Or rather go for the origin?
sup bud! so I only tried the Origin one sesh, and it was a 4.5m. I tried it back-to-back with a 4.5m v4 Strike, and I preferred the Origin. A year before, I may have preferred the Strike; I feel like my style changed a good deal over that year. That 6m CWC is really nice, and if you can afford it, then it's def the best CWC I've tried. for low end, I assume the CWC will be better. for wave riding, I think the Origin would be better. now that I've tried them all, I may get a v4 Swing this Spring if they go on sale, but I'm totally open to an Origin too. now that I have a dw board and foils I like that have decent lift, I'm looking to have a 4.5m or 5m as my biggest wing (I used to require a 5.5m in the quiver). I really don't think you could go wrong with either choice, but I guess you just need to ask yourself if you need a wing more for lighter winds or if you want it more for surf. good luck, LMK what you get! I wish you an awesome day.
What a great response that was. Thank you veeeery much
Hi, I have a M1-x in 4m and it’s very good. Very happy. Do not have comparisons but have heard that the M1 was geared for racing and was heavier etc. I’m a free rider and wave rider and zero complaints. Crazy price for repair, any reason? It’s too early to say about longevity but like you, I’m over the new wings that last 6 months re canopy tension. My f-ones went from amazing to floppy and gutless within a very short time. Unsustainable financially to buy a new quiver every year. Feel bad selling these things on as well as frankly they are average at best. Love the show Jeremy, Happy Xmas and a great NY buddy
awesome to hear you are stoked on the M1-X! I'm def intrigued at whatever material they are using in the canopy and how it holds up. as for the repair, I'm not sure if it was the extent of the repair, the materials, or what. I needed a new bladder which added to the costs. I was just assuming this thing was bomb-proof with it's materials, but it just goes to show that no materials are really bomb-proof. so if I had a choice between taking a $1700 wing or a $1000 wing out on a wave sesh, after this experience I'm prolly always gonna choose the $1000 wing. and I'm cool with that. the FOne v3 wings really soured me. the prices keep going up but the materials that "cost more" are not doing anything to increase their longevity, and make them heavier - the lightness was the reason why they were so good. that whole experience totally changed me as a consumer. I'm not buying whole quivers of wings anymore unless they are all under $1000 from the day they hit the market. I sold my 5.5m for $200 a year after I bought it cause I felt bad passing on a wing that was so flappy. OK rant over, thanks so much for watching & commenting. I wish you an awesome holiday week!!
@ I think by talking about these things we highlight legitimate challenges for manufacturers / designers to pick up and run with. It’s not a rant if it’s an experience most of us can relate to. Anyway, hope springs eternal that long term THIS wing is the unicorn one I’ve been waiting for ;)
@@OCEANBOUND1 So glad I never bought F1 wind wings as I've heard the same. As a heavier rider I subject canopy to higher loads so a little extra weight is OK if it lasts. I have been doing DIY batons for some of my older wings which helps a lot. 3.5mm diameter carbon batons on the top side with TPU end cap flanges and designed in stitching holes makes a big difference if placed on the line of maximum trailing edge chord deformation. Especially the old V1 PPCs have too much trailing edge chord deformation which was a design flaw, making them hard to control when semi flagged out, they just want to rotate out of the power zone which imposes high corrective arm loadings. Check the back of your wings when riding, they shouldn't have much chord curve at the back. And with a lot of riding, my old PPCs went a lot worse in this zone. Hopefully as per your video they have sorted the canopy.
Brother in law has switched to these and says the same heavy but solid and rips upwind. Have you tried the Ozone Fusion yet?? I'm still with V2 Strikes, the V3 wasnt worth the upgrade and not sure to stick with Fone or go to the new Unit - Great vlog, and an early Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
cool, good to know others say the same thing. I went on PPC's website and so many comments were that they were sooo light and that just was not my experience. it's funny, my local surf shop has a few V2's still in the packaging, I'm highly considering getting one for this next season. I was recently out on a v1 and didn't mind the old handles. but I'm really hoping to get a wave wing that is light and with a boom, so I'm waiting to see more options, like Duotone's new wave wing or if FOne makes booms for their Swings. My wing dealer is sending a Vayu up to try, their 5m is about a pound lighter than this PPC and has a boom so I'm super pumped to see how that stacks up. thanks for the comment bud! I wish you an awesome holiday season!!
Wow, the repair price is quite shocking to hear, the brands are definitely drinking the 'magic money tree' kool-aid.
@@stveloop9452 yeah, you pay to play, but that def hurt my wallet. From here on out Im probably sticking to wings that have regular materials since no wings seem immune to the consequences of being rolled in the whitewater. Thanks bud, I wish you an awesome weekend!
Just curious if you ride your gear until it's trash or do you try to sell it with some life left in it?
@@jjmc4 I do both! This wing I’ll probably sell soon, but many others I’ve ridden into the ground. I haven’t been super inspired to buy a wing in 2024 so I still have a bunch of old ones. At this point, unless I try something that blows me away, I’m prolly only buying things that are older and discounted. Wing prices are getting out of hand lately and times are tough. Thanks bud, I wish you an awesome day!
Alright Jeremy! Seeing you stoked makes me stoked! Glad you scored a good session! If you ever want to visit Minnesota and feel the sensation of iceboarding with a wing across a frozen lake, let me know. 🏂 It's awesome! 🎉
I appreciate your videos for this, the one from last year was what got me to sign up for the 15-miler '24. Currently I'm thinking of the 30 for '25. Gonna check out your other vids.
awww thanks so much bud! stoked you got out on the 15 in '24. I look forward to seeing you on the trail next year :) I wish you an awesome weekend.
I’m stoked you had a good session. Wind has been unseasonably terrible the past 3 months here in central CA. Finally getting a nice stormy wind day tomorrow and got two beginners joining me as well. Hopefully it’s a good day.
after this Fall, it seems like we all need to move to Hawaii. I hope you got out this week. been sick for at least 2 weeks here and I'm still not 100%. but I haven't missed anything either. good luck and I wish you an awesome weekend!
Great vid bro unfortunately I can't remember the last session I had it's not been working out on my days off, but threc is finally a chance tomorrow. I'm missing editing video As well . Anyway thanks for the shout-out, and I'm glad trippel A was so quick and you got on the water . 💧 Have a great weekend speak soon
dude we keep saying it, but what a miserable year for us normal working-folk. I just put out a review cause I've been sick the past 2 week and didn't have any new and inspiring footage. it worked out fine, I had to get it done. but man I miss good waves. I'm stoked to get out there paddling, but I'm still not feeling 100% so the through of paddling kinda makes me cringe. I hope that new dw board gets you out more! talk soon bud, I wish you an awesome weekend!
@OCEANBOUND1 get well soon my good man. Can't get out as it's too windy 40 to 60kn what a strange year 🤔 take it easy, later dude
Hi Mate how is cedrus mast ?
It’s great! So far it’s basically the same as my Armie mast, just a little heavier due to the fact that their “adapter” solution is a full aluminum fuse, vs the Armie fuse that is carbon. I really only feel it when I do a raley-like jump, but even then, it’s not bad. So yeah it’s working great and I plan on doing a review soon. I’ve been waiting for a consistent wind day at my local sport I can do a back-to-back comparison with the Armie mast. So Fingers crossed, more soon. I wish you an awesome day!
@@OCEANBOUND1 Was going to ask this as well. Just ordered an 87cm Evolution mast. Hoping it's amazing.
Great to see you catching waves again. Amazing how desperate we get when it’s been slim pickings for a while 😂 What’s your thoughts on the mid length riding swells compared to the older FG you had now that you have some mileage on the board. I’m starting to ride decent wind driven swell on my FG99 and am looking to down size to 70-80 in either the new wing board or mid length. Cheers.
sup bud! it was glorious. lets hope the winter is a little more intense than this past Fall! the ML board is still great. All the early adopters went smaller than mine, but I'm still stoked I got the 75L. this sesh, for example, I was first on a 680 with the 5m and the wind came down enough that I was just standing on the board waiting for puffs, and when one would come, I could usually get up. my friend had his 58L FG, 6.1m wing and 880... he literally didn't get up once. I was winging around him on a smaller foil and smaller wing while he was half sunk in the water. the conditions around here are often light and can be variable. so I really like having something that I can basically stand on when there's no wind. it works around here. and the board doesn't feel big. if I proned a good amount, MAYBE I'd consider a smaller one for that but the compromise hits a little at the light wind winging. all that said, since it's so skinny and only 6ft, it's still very prone-able and should make catching waves a breeze. the float of the 75L and the fact I can stand on it makes the ML pretty decent for parawing/dw. I've been using the dw board lately more because I just didn't have the dw booard for the first 2 months or the parawing, so it's like I've been catching up on the easy way, and easy is nice. but I plan on doing more PW dw'rs this next year with the 75L ML. lots of words, LMK if you have any questions. I wish you an awesome day!!
Sounds like your still buzzing about the 75ltr ML, just got one delivered hopefully I’ll give it a go with the wing this weekend🤞🏻
Great video, looks like some nice wave action!
thanks bud! it was so nice to rock out on some vert, even better when coming in hot with low expectations! I wish you an awesome weekend David!!
Fear not stilling, Global white-capping is coming, though its waters roar and foam.
oh hell yeah bring the white caps on! lol. I wish you an awesome weekend bud!
That helmet looks sooooo good?? Where did you get it?
sup bud! it's a great helmet. it's simple in ways but everything you want it to be. light, soft in ways, but stiff enough to guard against impacts from your board or foil. It's a SJO protection helmet, check them out at sjoprotection.com
Awesome Jeremy! Glad you liked the thelmet:) You certainly learn by going out in those conditions with a big wing!
Thanks bud! I LOVE it so far. I think it's the 5th helmet I've tried in the past 4 years and it's by far my favorite. And yeah, I love those gnar sessions, guaranteed lessons learned. More thoughts on the SJO helmet soon!
Concerning the Swing 5.0 and the Strike CWC 6.0, is the difference, due to the alternative design, from your impression in fact as pronounced as indicated by F-one: 14-25 vs. 9-20 knots...??? Cheers, Wolfgang
sup bud! it's kind of apples and oranges comparing those two, and there's always so many other factors to those numbers. but the CWC def feels light with the Allula, and it was pretty new, but the canopy was very tight and efficient. the Swing has a lot of low end power, I really like that wing and if they had booms I'd have one already (I still may get one with handles). but being a 5m, I'd say 14 sounds about right. could I get up in less with a dw board and huge foil? prolly. will I try? not planning on it. if you wanted Allula and light wind specific and can afford it, def go CWC. but I want decent power and good drift (and cannot afford Allula stuff) so that Swing is a better call for me. I'm not really into light wind winging as much as I was a few years ago. those days I just paddle now. I dunno if that helped or not. I wish you an awesome weekend!
@@OCEANBOUND1 Thanks for your helpful answer! On Paros, sometimes it's just somewhat below 14 knots, like 10-13, just a little less than my Swing 5.0 would need, and I guess 6 sqm CWC could help a lot in these conditions. For lower wind I got a paddle! And protective tape for the board thanks for the advice! Cheers 🙂Wolfgang
@@OCEANBOUND1 Concerning hard handles (or boom), does that make so much more out of a wing like Swing or Strike CWC from your experince...?
Did you get cheered coming out of the porta-john at the second aid station late night? It was hysterical! This year was my 1st time running the Ghost Train. I'll be back in 2026 chasing 100 miles.
hahahaha I don't think I got cheered in the middle of the night. that's awesome. the powerlines dance party is always my favorite. I look forward to seeing you on the trail in the future! I wish you an awesome day!
@OCEANBOUND1 WAIT! When wss the power line dance party? I'm bummed I missed it. Well, my legs certainly weren't! I did a courtesy for the bathroom cheering squad. 🤣😜 I also look forward to seeing you in a couple of years. Have a great weekend & holiday season!
Good work! Perfect review for whose are looking to the next board. Can I asking your weight compare to 90lt board?
Sup bud! Thanks for your awesome words. I’m 77kg. And that 90L had great float but absolutely does not feel like 90P IMO.
LOVE this!!! amazing video Jeremy, I want to tackle 60 miles tomorrow!!. You captured the essence of Ghost Train, the people, the community, and the joy of doing the unexpected, the difficult, and learning a little bit about yourself along the way. Thank you for putting this together!!!
Oh, and this is Charles (Charlie) by the way!!
So stoked you dig it bud! Thanks for making the experience awesome. Stoked for next year!!
Great video and thanks for sharing why we all do this! Hope to see you next year!
Aww thank you so much! Hope to see you next year as well! I wish you an awesome day!!
I don’t realize I look forward to this video until it’s here. Nice work! My condolences for you missing your goal and not beating your record. Better luck next year

Hello Jeremy I was suggested to you’re Paige by Reddit . Where can I take classes for para motor having a hard time finding a place located in Massachusetts
Heyo! I’m not on Reddit, but that’s cool. I don’t paramotor, a friend recommends New England Paramotors. I hope that helps!! I wish you an awesome day!
I of course put the red and blue shims with my 205 and 180 when I tried your adjustments...and my weight...80kg
The 205 with red&blue is amazing. I still do both in the 180 too. But I’m starting to look at the 140 differently but I still like it with both shims. Both shims usually mean you push the mast forward. Unless I have it backwards. Oh boy…
@@OCEANBOUND1you have it right, Armstrong shims reduce lift slightly. I generally use just a red
