I agree with the fallout with Yubel. I've been playing the modern deck much longer than I'd care to admit (5+ months before it got released into the TCG). I loved the playstyle and deck, but when Fiendsmith came out, it really took the fun out of the deck. What a shame. One of the best decks I ever played.

Hallo, ich habe deine Yubel-Videos sehr genossen und sie haben mir sehr geholfen, als ich nach 12 Jahren Yugioh pause nur dank Yubel in PHNI wieder angefangen habe. Dafür möchte ich mich erstmal bedanken. Ich musste auch leider einsehen das ich mit meinem Yubel-Deck ohne Fiendsmith im Aktuellen Format keinen spaß habe. Da ich Yubel aber nicht ganz aufgeben möchte versuche ich grade Yubel als Engine in meinem Millennium-Deck zu verwenden. Ich würde gerne wissen was du davon hältst bzw. ob du Tipps für mich hast. Ich benutze momentan nur Spirit als Handtrap und für meine Superpoly um Yubel - der Liebende Beschützer als Boardbreaker zu benutzen. Ich frage mich ob ich noch die Yubel, die Trap oder Alptraum-schmerz noch ins Main-Deck aufnehmen soll? Phantom spiele ich für den Fall, dass ich 2x Spirit ziehe. Ich spiele 50 Karten: 28 Millennium Karten 4 Consistency Karten 9 Handtraps 3 Lavagolem 3 Superpoly 3 Geist von Yubel

I used to play Yubel with Necro Shaman back in the day... And I am disgusted that it just became fiend pile that doesnt even use yubel in endboards... Links spam BS shenanigans ruined boss monsters in the game forever...I feel disgusted to overlay 2 yubels for a varudras or use them for unchained fodder.

Stopped with yubel aswell. Changed to memento, but due having bought fiendsmith before I added it in the deck and try to make it work but somehow feels more bricky (lurrie, tract) . I feel like fiendsmith is not that good anymore when now droll is also wandering around in the format

I'm in an extremely similar situation. I love Yubel, but after Fiendsmith, and especially with Fuwalos, I've just lost interest. A deck that says "if you go first, you win" just bothers me. I haven't touched the deck since August. But neither of us are required to play the deck. You may be known as "the Yubel guy" but that doesn't mean that's all you can ever be. I'll still be here to support your journey if you branch out. Your content is informative and enjoyable in a way that I can't really describe, but I find so much more enjoyable than other Yugitubers. Don't give up, because there's no reason to. Formats pass and things change, even if you end up deciding to drop yugioh, it was still great to have you while we did. Also I'm still not cutting Terror no matter what people tell me

Have you tried playing the Ursarctic Yubel combo? its bricky af but so damn fun when it pops off. Someone on youtube has a really good video about it.

It’s great to know that you have decided to stick around. Your videos made me a better Yubel player! Like you, I stopped playing Yubel, because Fiendsmith ruined it for me. There will, however, be a day when we can play Yubel again without Fiendsmith, and it will be a great contender in the format for sure. Tut mir aufrichtig leid zu hören das neben dem ganzen Yugi Stress auch noch privater dazu kam, hoffe du bist da gut durchgekommen 🙏🏻 Ich kann deine Standpunkte gut verstehen, aktuell tue ich es mir mit Yubel auch etwas schwer, aber ich habe entschlossen mit dem deck weiter durchzuziehen, auch mit paar schönen Reprints von Bonanza. Durch dich habe ich wie ich schonmal erwähnte überhaupt erst gelernt wie das Deck funktioniert, und dafür bin ich dankbar! Werde auf jeden Fall deine weitere Reise hier aufm Kanal verfolgen ^^ Schön zu sehen das du zurück bist. Da du Sam angeschnitten hast hätte ich sogar tatsächlich eine Frage bei der du mir vllt weiterhelfen könntest. Sam sagte, das man mit one card beconing beast aufm god board landen kann (also varudras/Desirae/Phantom/ceasar). Aber egal wie ichs drehe und wende, ich steige null dahinter wie das gehen soll. Als 2 card mit thron, sure, aber solo? Weißt du da eventuell irgendwas zu?

I can feel you so much.... I played yubel since First support spirit...shifter Version, runic Versions and later i build pure yubel with all three yubel evolutions. And i have so much fun. After fiendsmith and now after fuwa...it makes no fun. I give you some challange. Build an Jaden Hero / Yubel Deck without fiendsmith. I do it too. Lets see what happen ;)

What deck did you pickup that made you enjoy playing the game again? I have gone through severe yubel burnout myself after activating tract and normal summoning lotus so many times. I went back to my pet deck of fire kings after we finally got ulkanix, trying pure and with snake eye azamina. I guess kirin would be best… horsey? Also, more German mathmech slander will not be tolerated 😡, circular to 1 for sure next banlist, for real this time !

Just play decks you feel like and talk about what you feel like. Yes, your channel picked up, because of Yubel, but nobody is forcing you to keep playing her, you already have a fanbase that likes you. Just do what you like, man, don't force yourself down a rabbit hole, because nobody else really is. Have fun!

Same here, the moment Fiendsmith came out i just lost all interest in the deck and havent touched it since. White Forest is my new pet deck, and even though it isnt the strongest, i am having a blast and even top from time to time! Close second is Millennium Exodia, i just love fun decks. Which decks did you end up playing after you dropped Yubel?

Yubel is what got me back into the competitive scene. With the Mulcharmys coming out, the price and state of the game have pushed me out and I sold most of my collection. It was a great time while it lasted and hope we can come back.

Yea Yubel just lost the fun of it. I stayed on playing the pure version as long as possible. But i started to get too many brick hands and just lost it on one locals got up in middle of game 3 and left. Because when I don't brick boards that even pure yubel can create are awesome and sometimes u win sometimes u dont. So I use the fiendsmith now just to get that field negate or access to yubel engine because its literally the only point of it now. I was also thinking of making a go 2nd yubel deck with fiendsmith. Like instead of handtraps put all boardbreakers destroy the enemy board, dump geistgrinder golem with aerial eater, revive with to opponent's field with his own effect by summoning yubel and otk. I think that would be more enjoyable, and I see that more and more decks just focus onpowering trough your board. example the new azamina snake eyes fireking. bro went trough 9 negates interruptions and still otk'ed me. For now im looking to get a deck that can still be competitive in the meta, but played more casually. Like Branded and vanquish soul. in vanquish soul u just add that "cc" monster that banishes or shifter and rely on that. But with new liink 4 and now a proper target to go into since we never had a good link 4, maybe yubel will get fun again. Plus there is the new wildcard quick play spell that can literally add us any lvl 10 fiend from deck to hand because of its effect. So we can even add that lvl 10 light fiend that can banish 1 monster and 2 spell/traps from field or grave. so more going 2nd effects to break boards

I still play Yubel with FS i know lot of people dont like it too play it Anyway tho i had so much fun with the deck before the fiendsmith era especially now as example it do not make any fun anymore time too say goodbye too yubel I guess next year are my heros back i will try the new evil hero engine next year

Nothing lasts forever, such is the nature of life. Nonetheless you've left your mark with Yubel brother, and your efforts have not gone unnoticed. I hope your personal stuff gets resolved swiftly and i look forward to what you bring forward with other decks.

Fiendsmith Yubel was very very fun, but it lost some identity in the process, i don't know how to explain it. I loved the deck more when it did less, and i did have the fiendsmith cards lets make this clear.

Not using dark mode in 2024 is wild lol

I guess because I never played with Engraver I still have a lot of fun playing with "lower" powered level version of yubel even though they end on similar boards minus the Desirae. I still include Loving defender in every yubel deck I play. do well at locals and still find it enjoyable figuring out different combo lines or techs. or even techs within the yubel archetype. for example going 2nd I've started to side in Geistgrinder to help play around Lightning storm/Evenly matched or for some specific people at my locals put on a monster on their board to counter their kash deck. Aerial eater can send Geist to the Gy and it's very easy to get OG Yubel on board to get it to summon itself. I didn't focus on the super meta only viable decks since the "lower" power level variations were still enough people just never gave them the light of day. and it's a shame. people are still cooking and trying their hardest with Goblin bikers but I feel yubel never had that kind of innovative testers since people would shoot down builds that weren't super met. even having fun trying to figure out a primite Neos /yubel/ Wiseman deck just for fun. Yugioh isn't just YCS or Regionals. you can still build for locals and have fun there.

I know we don't know each other whatsoever trinity, but I've been sticking around since pretty much the very first upload and I gotta say, you're just a mind reader. Every single innovation and discovery I've made with yubel from the start was always mentioned in one of your videos. From not playing shifter, to cutting super poly, cutting terror incarnate, playing aerial eater over Beatrice, pretty much everything I've discovered on my own you've made a video about and I've also stolen my fair bit of tech from you as well. Yubel is my absolute favorite deck and you are my absolute favorite TH-camr to go to for yubel knowledge because it feels like you just understand how I want to play the deck. How all of us real yubel lovers want to play the deck. Over these past few months as I've been growing with the deck it's felt like you've been right next to me every step of the way and it's really stirred my passion for this game. Even now as I'm watching this video I too have been on a hiatus from yubel. It's been about 2-3 weeks since I've really played it at all and it's all for the exact same reason. I love *yubel* not fiendsmith. I just want to thank you for making this journey and this deck so much more memorable and enjoyable for me, and I'd love to see what you want to do next. Me personally, I've been having a blast with goblin bikers and sharks and mimighoul. I'd love to see your thoughts on any of those decks or maybe even something like white forest or centur-ion which I feel like gets a shockingly low amount of representation. We need more people like you in the yugituber community. People that really give it their all to innovate and specialize in decks they are passionate about, instead of 1 off videos with little depth outside of a deck list and basic combo before moving on to the next meta trend.

Man, I feel you. I returned to the game when Phantom Nightmare was announced in OCG (after a 6 years break). Then built the deck, learnt about Link summon and so on. Had so much fun at locals and regionals, learning how to beat the meta decks, watching your videos… But then, when the Fiendsmith engine came out, I felt like the deck went to a generic direction. Tested it online, was crazy, but didn’t buy the engine, it was expensive af. I lost a little bit the joy of playing it. Sold my deck, got me a Tenpai, lol. I’m having fun with Tenpai for now. I was able to grab a Yubel core again. For the good ol’ times. I’m thinking about playing it with Unchained, idk. I’m glad you came back, take your time to think what you wanna do. It’s okay to pause and take a deep breath. 🫂

I abandoned yubel after phantom. Well kinda. Yubel hero was fun to run. Yubel-evil hero is a build I want to try, but I’ve gone back to omni-Neos. Yugioh is most fun when you beat the best decks, not being the best deck

I still play Yubel Fiendsmith today i still kinda enjoy playing it but part of that has to with that its the best deck i completely own that can still compete and have a shot at top cut in locals. I will say i do miss having to play the super poly package. I would always have the biggest grin on my face when i have a super poly and yubel on the board ready to go.

I completely understand your feeling, Yugioh sometimes discourages me too so I always give it a break, when Fiendsmith arrived I knew it would ruin the fun of playing with Yubel that's why I never wanted to play with Fiendmsith Yubel, I completely understand your feeling but at the same time less Yubel fulfilled his role won the World and Many YCS. on the one hand I'm happy to see one of Jaden's boss at the Top :) I know that if one day HERO becomes META I will have the same feeling but I would still like to see it. I still play it as my main one atm, but I'm finding there isn't as many neat innovations or things to make it better, outside of the couple cards in suda coming, but I have a couple other decks i like atm like white forest or malice. KInd of surprising given i was a danger dark world one trick for years.

I wanted to get into Yubel but the punish your opponent for attacking a 0 atk/0 def monster, dumping just to pull more "they take damage from attacking" monsters out of the GY is IMO toxic. If you sneeze around Yubel she'll think you said "Destroy one Yubel". Again, I wanted to try Yubel, but I couldn't bring myself to put someone through that foolishness. Yubel is not fun to go against or even spectate. I subbed and I saw your channel. You did your channel and yourself above all else, a favor with this move. I'm speaking from my own Master Duel experience. I can't speak for the TCG.
