This is the exact deck I bought minus Phantom, how much changes in terms of the profile once the fiendsmith engine hits? I'm trying to determine how much I'm gonna have to drop on fixing up the deck for the newer meta.
there are quite a few changes with fiendsmith.. it probably changes the most since the PHNI support! but : in its core, we still play the same yubel deck so i dont think you have to throw everything out of the window :) we basically cut yubel engine and other stuff to squeeze in the fiendsmith cards!
most of the time people play one feather duster in main, in case they draw into it - in the side deck its often used as a 3rd lightning storm! its in general a good card, especially against backrow heavy decks :)
While Lightning Storm is more flexible baiting both monsters and backrow, Duster can be used while you control a faceup card (Nibiru, Phantazmay, Bystials) making it a more potent backrow removal that won't be dead if you draw it at a later turn or even first bait stuff then blow them out with Duster. A prime example of the latter is Runick Stun. Have them drop Skill Drain on you to turn off their Hugin, then Duster will wipe everything and you win the game on the spot. For Storm to do that you would need something that removes itself from the field that might not always be possible.
i prefer chimera because you dont have to run an extra fire link monster in the extra deck in case the princess is left on the field :) if you pop the chimera, you can add the sharvara back and then you can use the pop on the princess to not be fire locked anymore!
Having 2 og yubel with phantom isn't more relevant and maybe good ? Cause if we summon phantom very early, and then do our combo, the "negate" effect of phantom cannot be used to pop spirit THEN summon yubel ? Except maybe if we summon Phantom of yubel again before ending our turn
I dont think its better with 2 personally, its definitely more difficult to pilot with only 1 OG yubel but if you can pilot it well, its way less bricky, you just have to be more careful with your plays! :) and yep, when you have to use the phantom, you can just go into another one before you pass!
After phantom of yubel comes out I'm curious to hear your thoughts about ultimate nightmare or running 2 OG yubel? Currently without phantom I play 2 OG and 1 terror incarnate because we have to try a bit more on Varudras and I don't like getting my only copy of yubel stuck under Varudras. Running 2 also makes him a bit easier to summon so I might drop down to 1 after phantom because we have easy access to negates. I'm mostly curious about the implications of ultimate nightmare. Are there really any combo lines when you are forced to pop a terror incarnate to make the ultimate nightmare worth playing?
In ocg, someone plays 1 copy of Chaos Summoning Beast instead of 3 copies of Dark Beckoning. Do you know the reson why they run 1 copy of Chaos Summoning Beast, mate?
yep! its in case they ONLY open the spirit gates :) Spirit gates -> Add Beckoning beast -> Beckoning beast add Chaos summoning beast. and then they can extra normal the chaos summoning beast :) its okay to play it but i dont think you need it. its a bad draw in most cases and only good if you really ONLY have spirit gates
He forgot to explain that going for that line puts 2 monsters on board for closed sky so that opening of the spirit gates is 1 card fiendsmith combo. It’s not relevant until we get that engine.
correct me if I'm wrong but phantoms contact fusion is not treated as a fusion summon it is simply special summoned from the extra deck so you are able to shuffle back phantom for itself?
The special summon of a fusion monster from the extra deck is not a fusion summon, but the materials used for the special summon are still considered "fusion materials" so you cannot phantom into phantom. It's the same ruling with chimeratech fortress dragon. It cannot be used to make another one because it can't be used as fusion material
Love the vid as always, I think its possible to use 2 Phantom of Yubel to make a 3rd, as this is a special summon (shuffle in to special summon) not a fusion summon, does this change anything if thats the case? Do you think its worth running 3?
Thanks for the kind word! :) and no, sadly thats not possible, while it counts as a special summon, the material you use still counts as fusion material.
@TrinityYGO no problem! Im actually preparing for nationals atm for the UK which will be a fairly big one and have been testing Yubel for a while, your channel has always been a great help. Does Phantom being a 9 ever come up for summoning Spirit with Throne when they get rid of it? Edit: forgot I'd not watched the whole video, got curious half way through 😂 you said at 5:47 exactly as I've asked 😏 shame it doesn't work the other way if they rid a 10 to float into 9, but guess the 11 will have to do 😜
It does work the other way, Throne is +1 or -1 level. Issue is, Phantom has a restriction on it's summon ("must be special summoned drom your extra deck by...")
@jecaballeror There's no 9 to Summon so it doesn't special I mean. But I've found from only owning 1 Phantom currently, using the Field to add it back to Extra is clutch cuz you still get the Float from the 10 which is still good enough from my experience 😄
You spoiled me with that fiendsmith version. I cant play any other way now 😂😂. Cant wait till they release to take them into ranked. But as for now I agree this is the best way to play the deck. Keep grinding bro!
oh trust me, every time i test fiendsmith/phantom i dont want to go back to the TCG.. its just so much fun! but not too long until we have it in the TCG :)
If its destroyed it adds any fire from grave to hand. So if you use Princess you pop Duelittle and get Sharvara to hand which lets you remove Princess from board so you aren't fire locked on your turn.
@@bakedbeyondbelief321 Oh, and extra layer is that if you use Princess to rez Duelittle and THEN pop her with Sharvara you get to use her effect every turn so long as your opponent doesn't snipe her out of your graveyard

The answer about Ultimate is that on its own it does nothing so it's a "dead draw". In niche cases, Ultimate can stomp Tenpai that are forced to attack it before they establish a synchro line cooking their 1 card combo of Chundra (destroys at the end of damage step so no quick synchro), with Pain it is super aggressive on your turn as the only main deck Yubel that can burn when attacking. Floating Terror is very situational, but busted under Skill Drain especially if you have Pain (any 2k monster is OTK because Spirit -> Yubel -> Terror -> Ultimate). So to sum up, Ultimate is better in a control/stun variant rather than the combo/handtrap variant. Personally I'm giving a shot to using 1 more Yubel, but in almost every case I prefer to run a 2nd OG Yubel instead of Ultimate (for easier rank10 plays), and running both the 2nd OG Yubel + Ultimate is begging to brick yourself.
@@babradI personally love the third form of Yubel, been too many times against Horus/Stun or exodia/stun (at my locals in particular) the third form has come in handy for an extra body on field that still forces monsters too attack. It all comes down to personal preference ☺️
IMO the super poly build of the deck (not running princess package) becomes much better with phantom because now you can basically end on everything (rage+apo+varudras) but now with phantom once u detach og yubel from varudras for his negate u can use phantom, popping spirit, which in turn revives yubel from grave, in turn making it so u have a free loving defender board wipe
thats right, the access to the OG yubel is more common but im still not sold on super poly as long as snake eyes is running wild. but i also really really like superpoly so if my opinion/ the format changes, im one of the first to put it back in :)
@@TrinityYGO IMO after testing I prefer the spoly version of the deck while acknowledging the fact spoly isnt very good against snake eye, And usually side it out going second for just 18 hand traps, Although to be honest most of the time against SE spoly can act kinda like ghost ogre cause you will probably go normal DBB/lotus, they imperm/veiler it, then i chain spoly to fuse it and IP into mudragon, kinda getting rid of IP like ghost ogre would. I also think that outside of SE spoly does insane against many decks, in my testing spoly is REALLY good against voiceless, tenpai and the mirror. so thats why ive preferred it.
@@ryionizer3622 Honestly i can see spoly getting better with the uprise of yubel players (still not good against yubel as a board breaker if they play correctly around it but its solid) against voiceless its a 50/50 because of the ritual spell - most of the time they have additional handtraps so spoly is really cost heavy. they just rebuild their board, have the omni negate and you have 2 cards less in hand. against tenpai i dont like it. even one imperm is really good against them if it survives. the problem with tenpai is/are the boardbreaker. the chance of spoly staying is very low and if it stays - every interruption is good against them. pair all of that with snake eyes (they also play A LOT of handtraps so again, super poly + discard are 2 cards less in your hand which makes it harder for you to have gas to play through anything) and you have the reason why im not sold on spoly currently. spoly currently has way too much ''ifs'' and ''whens'' its not consistently better than the other options. but lets see, im open to play it in general!
@@TrinityYGO you don't like Super Poly because it's so counterproductive with your build. When your hand is drained by using handtraps, Super Poly will make it worse with a suboptimal -2 for just a Mudragon or Garura. And I completely agree with that. This is why I consider Super Poly a completely different build (working on that + handtrap build similar to yours + Fiend Link combo with Fiendsmith and minimal Yubel engine + pure post Phantom, all as separate decks to cope for getting 6 thrones -i also play them in my DDDs no complains here- ). For the Super Poly build, I run Skill Drain in the main, Rivalry, Crow and Ogre as the only handtraps (Ogre for IP to SP, Crow that could be Bystials as well just for Puppet) and it has a nasty game 1 winrate because Pain and Skill Drain are so good at OTKing. I've seen builds even use Powersink Stone as the 4/5/6th copies of Skill Drain. This stomps Snakes and as soon as you bait Etoile cooks Melodious (this will be a very hard matchup against a player that knows where to interrupt us) while it's a bit weaker against Tenpai (specifically due Lightning Storm), and at the expense of the Promethean package you can pivot into a 12 handtrap side deck (even full, but I prefer at least 3 removal options) to shift your playstyle and make Storm/Evenly etc less impactful post-siding. Still, the handtrap build is better for tournaments where you can get randomly FTKed out of nowhere.
@@babrad you explained it really good. And i kinda like the other variant! While I agree its probably better to stick with the handtrap approach (thanks to snake eyes) I think its a fun thing to try out at locals! I love that Yubel is so adaptive in its playstyle!

there isnt a deck that can play through multiple handtraps no matter what (the closest we had to that was ishizu tear probably)
BUT : especially with phantom, handtraps get a lot weaker and maybe (fingers crossed!) its in this months battles of legend :)
This is the exact deck I bought minus Phantom, how much changes in terms of the profile once the fiendsmith engine hits? I'm trying to determine how much I'm gonna have to drop on fixing up the deck for the newer meta.
there are quite a few changes with fiendsmith.. it probably changes the most since the PHNI support!
but : in its core, we still play the same yubel deck so i dont think you have to throw everything out of the window :)
we basically cut yubel engine and other stuff to squeeze in the fiendsmith cards!
can you explain why people run feather duster? What makes it better than lightning storm? Like what are the match-ups people slot it in for?
most of the time people play one feather duster in main, in case they draw into it - in the side deck its often used as a 3rd lightning storm! its in general a good card, especially against backrow heavy decks :)
Hell yea, thanks for the drop
Por que prefieres usar quimera en lugar de anfibio?
i prefer chimera because you dont have to run an extra fire link monster in the extra deck in case the princess is left on the field :)
if you pop the chimera, you can add the sharvara back and then you can use the pop on the princess to not be fire locked anymore!
@@TrinityYGO very good, i see
Having 2 og yubel with phantom isn't more relevant and maybe good ? Cause if we summon phantom very early, and then do our combo, the "negate" effect of phantom cannot be used to pop spirit THEN summon yubel ?
Except maybe if we summon Phantom of yubel again before ending our turn
I dont think its better with 2 personally, its definitely more difficult to pilot with only 1 OG yubel but if you can pilot it well, its way less bricky, you just have to be more careful with your plays! :)
and yep, when you have to use the phantom, you can just go into another one before you pass!
Which Simulator are you using?
omega
@@cornvultureygo7949 thank you.
Super excited for this 🤩
After phantom of yubel comes out I'm curious to hear your thoughts about ultimate nightmare or running 2 OG yubel?
Do you know the reson why they run 1 copy of Chaos Summoning Beast, mate?
yep! its in case they ONLY open the spirit gates :)
Spirit gates -> Add Beckoning beast -> Beckoning beast add Chaos summoning beast.
and then they can extra normal the chaos summoning beast :)
its okay to play it but i dont think you need it.
its a bad draw in most cases and only good if you really ONLY have spirit gates
@@TrinityYGO thanks for the explanation, mate. Dankeschön.
He forgot to explain that going for that line puts 2 monsters on board for closed sky so that opening of the spirit gates is 1 card fiendsmith combo. It’s not relevant until we get that engine.
Hey when will the new phantom of yubel card be release in tcg?
correct me if I'm wrong but phantoms contact fusion is not treated as a fusion summon it is simply special summoned from the extra deck so you are able to shuffle back phantom for itself?
The special summon of a fusion monster from the extra deck is not a fusion summon, but the materials used for the special summon are still considered "fusion materials" so you cannot phantom into phantom.
It's the same ruling with chimeratech fortress dragon. It cannot be used to make another one because it can't be used as fusion material
Love the vid as always, I think its possible to use 2 Phantom of Yubel to make a 3rd, as this is a special summon (shuffle in to special summon) not a fusion summon, does this change anything if thats the case? Do you think its worth running 3?
Thanks for the kind word! :)
and no, sadly thats not possible, while it counts as a special summon, the material you use still counts as fusion material.
@TrinityYGO no problem! Im actually preparing for nationals atm for the UK which will be a fairly big one and have been testing Yubel for a while, your channel has always been a great help. Do you happen to have a channel discord or something? I'd like to talk yubel theory and lists, though I know this channel is more focused on Phantom of Yubel atm.
How can I super like this?
if you mean the donation thingy i think there is a ''Thanks'' button somewhere below the video
(a bit to the right looking from the likes) :)
if you mean something else then : i also dont know!
I think I am missing the point of duelittle chimera other than to get princess to GY
If its destroyed it adds any fire from grave to hand. So if you use Princess you pop Duelittle and get Sharvara to hand which lets you remove Princess from board so you aren't fire locked on your turn.
@Evnyofdeath oh right right, got it thanks!
@@bakedbeyondbelief321 Oh, and extra layer is that if you use Princess to rez Duelittle and THEN pop her with Sharvara you get to use her effect every turn so long as your opponent doesn't snipe her out of your graveyard
Your main deck is already my actual list 😅 I've preferred talents over pot especially cause of my tight extra
I’ve been flipping but I have been so unlucky during testing that I never see either so oof
I think I'm going to have to make this change myself. I'm really not keen on prosp in this deck and love the option of different lines
@@KariiVG it helped me pretty well, if I have anything, I can just hand rip for 1 going 1. Going second it's also pretty nice to get more bodies or 2 additional cards to play threw enemy's board. Talents can put a lot of pressure.
2 questions brother:
Why not playing the third version of yubel?
Why playing duelittle chimera instead of amblo?
im not a fan of the 3rd form, while you can play it if you really want to, its basically a 2nd terror incarnate and a weird draw. you just dont need to! :)
chimera is there because the extra deck is really tight and if you pop chimera with the princess, you can add back sharvara with chimera to then use sharvara on the princess to get rid of the fire lock!
@@babrad love the detailed answer
@@ryionizer3622 Honestly i can see spoly getting better with the uprise of yubel players (still not good against yubel as a board breaker if they play correctly around it but its solid)
against voiceless its a 50/50 because of the ritual spell - most of the time they have additional handtraps so spoly is really cost heavy. they just rebuild their board, have the omni negate and you have 2 cards less in hand.
against tenpai i dont like it. even one imperm is really good against them if it survives. the problem with tenpai is/are the boardbreaker. the chance of spoly staying is very low and if it stays - every interruption is good against them.
pair all of that with snake eyes (they also play A LOT of handtraps so again, super poly + discard are 2 cards less in your hand which makes it harder for you to have gas to play through anything) and you have the reason why im not sold on spoly currently.
spoly currently has way too much ''ifs'' and ''whens''
its not consistently better than the other options.
but lets see, im open to play it in general!
Looks Like you are very cartain, that we get it this month
Battles of legend is just perfect for it! theres a really really high chance for it but - even if not, the video wont be gone if phantom releases in another set! :)
Valuable Book promos, like Phantom, are typically imported in Battles of Legend sets that's why everyone is hyped about it.
You be able to use it to summon another phantom, because is a special summon not a fusion
False. The special summon of a fusion monster from the extra deck is not a fusion summon, but the materials used for the special summon are still considered "fusion materials" so you cannot phantom into phantom.
It's the same ruling with chimeratech fortress dragon. It cannot be used to make another one
