Don’t force the red connector from the regulator-rectifier to the stator connector it might break. It pops in and locks when you push in the red connecting sleeve. Took me a while and extensive you tube research to figure how to reconnect it. But once you push the red sleeve in, it goes in quickly.
It so hard and bullshit to take out this battery. They put those cables like a 5 y old kid.
Just a suggestion i would be tpted to run an extra earth from the battery t o the reg. But thanks for showing the electrical connections and how they un plug. Great video. Thanks for posting. Very good.
I'll be trying the gasket and silica pack on mine, thanks for the tip... incidentally I've got a seat Leon with LED headlights both sporting 100g silica packs in the backs of them and that keeps the fogging under control in those 👌🏻
Thanks for this... My low beam was OK but high beam was lighting up the top of the hedges and not the road ahead... I tryed to lower it but wouldn't move... Something was stopping it.... Then I've seen you cut the cable ties... I'll try that hopefully it will allow me to lower it 👌
Your good advice and how to do vlogs are ideal for me, just bought a 22 plate himalayan, many thanks... 😊👌🏻👍🏻
I have ordered a pair 2 days ago. I live remote so I cant try any on. I'm a size 10 and I ordered a size 10. I hope they fit. Give me your thoughts pls.
I have a 2020 Himalayan from new which has just developed a fault. It starts and runs for two seconds then stops . Any ideas
Awesome video. Many thanks from Miami, Florida.
Some people use a bit of talk inside the tyre helps the tube move
A bit of choke, what choke? Is yours a carburettor model?
Although three years old, this is an excellent & spot in review of the Himalayan 411.
Appreciate all the bits and tips. Very helpful video in lieu of any instructions. Can I ask were you got your graphics kit? Brand name or product reference number?

What has happened to wee jaunt? I miss his honest reviews and trips out around Scotland
Watched again and subbed this time !
This is just what I wanted to see. A lot of people do "long term" 5k/10k mile reviews, which is a joke. Glad to see a legitimate review with legitimate miles.
good see review from a scot. i looking at buying this jacket as a scot i have knox armor i layer up how getting in to the winter i find i need so meany layer to keep worm
Great vid yet again Martin. Cheers. Any help with tyre type you recommend for my himmy 411. ?sidewall can be an issue if getting a flat wheel I hear
I totally 100% disagree. These are flat out worthless. I had to return mine for a refund. They simply don't do what EVERYBODY is telling you. I fell for all the hype and bought a set of these just to be EXTREMLEY DISSAPOINTED. Don't waste your money. There are several good cheap silicon earplugs you can buy for under 8 bucks that do a whole lot better job reducing noise than these and I mean a whole lot better. If you do end up buying these because you simply don't believe me, just make sure you buy them from a vendor that will give you a refund in case you find out I'm right so you won't be out of 25.00. Good luck
thanks for the video. my tire got punctured by a screw, is it necessary to replace the tire itself aswell? they're still brand new.
Lovely job👍.
Hey , i need litle help, why you put fire on cable before puting red wire in jack.. Did you melt red wire and other one together with fire.. i just put mine wire inside without lighting it up and put duct tape around it.. Thanks , i am big noob
Dam now I don't Know what to buy great review
Very cool review. Love your accent :) how tall are you? Do you think this bike would suit a 6’4” dude?
Just changed my oil and filter... And fitted aux lights... Both your videos really helped... I like the idea of the oil you suggested... But do you not get clutch slip being fully synthetic? If it works fine I will definitely get the smith and Allen oil... Just wanted to be sure before I buy some... Any feedback on the oil appreciated 🙏👍
@@simonwood8685 no clutch slip mate works 100% fine
Thanks so much for getting back to me. I'll definitely be getting that oil for my next oil change 👍
What language is he speaking I speak English I only understood one out of every six words he said
Great video. Thanks a lot😊
❤️🏴
Excellent video Thank you 👍👍
Well its slightly better priced than the overpriced thunderbox, but on my tiger 800 i just picked the trigger wire for my innovv k7 from the rear light yellow wire I soldered the joint and also linked a tail to my innovv third eye. All works fine
As a ultralight pilot ,they are a great little cheapie .I have a Icom VHF radio with bluetooth and VOX and it connects perfectly without all the hassles of cables.
I have been considering some of these Alpine ear plugs, having always used the foam type (that look like a Rhubarb and Custard sweets), i would prefer a type that last longer before having to throw them away. My reason for not buying so far has been that the noise reduction dB rating looks to be better for the foam type with some people saying they block to much noise. Personally i just want to maximise protection to my already damaged hearing, i just don't like the fact that their performance drops of after a few uses. Whilst appreciating the Alpine's are engineered to block certain sounds - how would you compare the red type to the foam type plugs that i use. Best wishes.
Silicone sealant takes a bit of practice to get right. Read the instructions.
The definition of ridiculous: buying a Harley Pan America for $20,000 and dropping it on a trail a $5,000 RE Himalayan would easily conquer. (From a video I watched the other day.)
Got these 😂 happy with them.
Did it work???
Where did you get the Japanese made one? thanks
Proper job…you can really see the wear and ‘hooking’ on the front sprocket. How many miles had that one done?…planning my change now for gearing / top end reasons.
Thank you so much, it's been driving me mad. I will try your solution!
THE MANUAL SAY 15W50 SEMISINTHECTI
I found that they needed be connected opposite - positive pole to negative, and negative to positive
That sucks the light out of the atmosphere...
Thanks just about to buy a Himmy and that's motivated me. Happy to cruise at 65 all day, I'm just coming up on 70 so that'll suit me fine, staying off motorways is my plan. Can I ask you the model of Givi bags you have there the bike I'm buying is almost totally standard. Cheers
I'm now own of one these bikes since January it had done 7000 miles. Ive done a further 3000 miles as of now. Quite happy with it over all . Work in it myself. I've taken note of all your points and refer to your videos from time to time. Thanks again mate. Hugely appreciate your efforts here on TH-cam
Great video.
Hi Martin, Living in Birmingham I bought a Himalayan back in September visiting Nairn 15 yrs ago for a weeks Holiday in the car this time I done it on the Himmy staying in Ayr then on to Glencoe, Fort William absolutely glorious weather in May, I left B, ham on 830 miles and actually run the Bike in at 1200 miles over Erskine Bridge a truly amazing trip to remember nice seeing this again I stayed at Red Squirrel and Ben nevis holiday park. 🏴 2024
I look after Castle Sween and Kilmory Knap chapel. Enjoyed your video. First I knew about Dunrostan fort. Always wondered why Sandys farm was called Dunrostan.
Totally agree with you Upgrade as you replace parts I've been to Morocco on mine in the past and it's perfect for the job Many issues caused me to give up on the bloody thing But I purchased a 2nd himmy last year but moved it on as it was also problematic Now on my 3rd himmy and spannering it myself I'm down here in Carlisle, so hope to bump into you sometime to chat issues Ride safe
what problems with the bike did you have? that sounds more interesting than the reviews saying nothing goes wrong!!
@nathanmaurice4103 1st new himmy in 2019 Total electrical failure on way to Portsmouth to catch the ferry Managed to disconnect the running lights/ Sat nav Got to North Africa, and head gasket failed Then, the gear selector seal failed Then, head stock bearings failed Was instructed to go to dealer in Irun, Northern Spain on way home They refused to do the head bearings unless I paid as the fuel tank frames were protection and not to be used for luggage I paid around €200 Sold the bike on my return In fairness, the bike kept going but was a nightmare 2nd himmy was secondhand with low miles purchased last year Just could not quieten the tappet noise Moved it on very quickly Now, on my 3rd WHY Well, the information and understanding of these bikes is much better now, and the competition is untested I have learnt to fix the bike myself now and it's a great Donkey bike Hopefully, this bike will take me on many adventures
Great clear instructions, and all done outdoors 😊
Hello from New Zealand, I ride a Triumph Thunderbird 1600cc, bought a pair of these and love them, as you say more protection than a tour boot, as have a dropped left foot they also help you walk better, better feel, and makes for better confidence when riding or when stationary, great for walking in too, the height is great, highly recommend for cruiser style bikes
