I mean i grew up with the og games, played and completed every damn game since and i have no idea what people are complaining about with this game. In fact the only two games i understand the hate for are sonic 06 and sonic forces both of which were clearly rushed out the gate. I still enjoyed them both though, sonic 06 was just like the adventure games but broken so it was still enjoyable once all the glitches and damn hyperspeed sections were ignored, and forces was just boring and easy. But sonic lost worlds was good fun and refreshing change of pace

Thoughts on Sonic lost world 3ds?

I really enjoy *Sonic Lost World* as both a game and an experience. The only real issue I have with it-which I think is fair to mention-is that it feels like a *Mario Galaxy* clone in many ways. Coming from someone who’s not a Mario fan, I can still acknowledge that point. That said, I still have a great time with it. The gameplay is fun, the parkour system is innovative, and while the story isn’t groundbreaking, it has some genuinely funny moments, and the voice acting is phenomenal. As for the Deadly Six, I’m not a big fan of them in this game because their personalities are limited to single traits that are often used as punchlines. However, their designs are great, and they’re voiced well. Given that this game leans heavily into comedy, their simple personalities do work in context. Still, I much prefer their portrayal in the IDW comics, where they’re given more depth. Overall, I think the game is solid, and I really enjoy it. I even bought a Wii U just to play it and own it physically because I value physical media. On another note, my team and I are working on a Sonic cartoon that blends comedy and seriousness in its narratives. If you’re curious and want to know more, feel free to ask-I’d be happy to share. I played the 3DS Version of Lost World when I was a kid and it is to this day my favourite Sonic Game. I don't think it's the best, but still my favourite.

Ok, cap, sonic unleashed didnt stop the downward spiral of the franchise, it added to it. Idk why so many fans like that game now, but its crap and it ran lile crap on og hardware. Nice vid, but nah, thats cap, sonic unleashed was hated until quite recently. I know it gets love but IT WAS A MEME about sonic being a werehog. In fact the werehog bevame the face of how sega lost what was so special about the series and just kept changing the gameplay style on each entry.

This game came out at the worst time though. Sonic Team had finally gotten trust back as they released Colours and Generations. Then they release Lost World which was just not on the level of those games at all and not even close.

The score for this game absolutely slaps! And I adore the voice actor for Falco in this game! And I love the cutscenes and banter/dialogue between the characters

I 100% this game back on the Wii U when it came out. But man was it a slog. This really is one of my least favorites of the series with my playing Mario 3D World over it the vast majority of the time just to push off beating it. Still not the worst in the series though; that definitely goes to Secret Rings. Man that game is a dumpster fire.

is there anywhere I can go to learn more about the tech in this game? I beat it recently on my Wii U and your review is basically the one I resonate with the most. I'm enjoying myself more and more the more I play through the levels again, even the ones I disliked at first.

I thought sonic unleashed was great

I have been defending this game since the beginning also. I was sick of the boost formula when this released and am a sucker for slower paced platforming so this was PERFECT for me. I love the strange arching homing attack, I love the kick attack and how you can pummel multiple enemies at once...I love the parkour. I love the way the spin dash feels. I love being able to spin dash on walls to keep your momentum going. My Toxic trait is I will not allow anyone to tell me they dislike this game with a straight face until they get decently good at it. Happened for me very quick, but it was so off putting to other people.

i think the big problem is how nintrendo fucks with the controlls or tries to implement stupid new stuff like that strange chicken think in the wii u version i hated it so much that i never buyed the game.... hope they remake the 2 gamecube games for switch or switch 2 i loved them both

My takeaway from this video is that every single Sonic game on earth is good, if you learn the mechanics, And if you dont like any of them, its probably a skill issue.

I picked it up on my steam deck for $7 I am happy i purchased it. It feels off compared to other sonic games I've played, mainly I'm used to the adventure series from my childhood, but this game is a solid casual time.

I am one of those StarFox fans that like Assult and Advantures... Sue me. I also wish we had a kind of a rpg StarFox game with the ability to play as Wolf or Leon or Panther... Would be cool, but Nintendo has a different buisness model.

I'm a D1 defender of this game but im glad your criticisms were of good faith, instead of directly ignoring the good parts of the game and overexaggerating the bad parts like most reviewers do. Alot of the bad dialouge and plot were the english localizations fault, althought there is still issues in the japanese. Anyways based video will be subbing

There’s a mod for this game that lowers the mission requirements that’s a literal game changer. Opens it up so you can basically choose any path you want at free will without the tediousness

The plan was to have Gerald continue experimenting with Shadow to find the key to immortality with Gerald behind bars. 7:16 Sure, he's being a bit of a dick here in calling average people pathetic (In the Japanese version, he only said he had no reason to help them, which makes sense because throughout the game he's trying to figure out what he should do based on his past. At this point he has no idea if he's been on good terms with them or not.) Secondly, Shadow saying he has to believe Black Doom at the start was only in the English translation. What he actually said in the Japanese version is that he's going to go after the Chaos Emeralds because they will grant him a wish, that being his memories. And as for the President pardoning Gerald, that was also only in the English version. He said GUN was going to make up for what they did to the people they killed on the Ark in the Japanese version. 21:18 That is very much the point of the game. From Maria to Gerald, Eggman, Black Doom, Sonic & co, everyone has always old Shadow what to do. This is one of the reasons why he decides "Fuck it, I'm choosing for myself what to do going forward" in the Last Story. 27:31 It's funny you bring that up. Expert Mode, set after the Last Story, confirms that Shadow did in fact go to Cryptic Castle and that he did in fact save Cream and Cheese. 35:28 He did get the Chaos Emerald, but that's not what the punishment was about. Shadow didn't take down all the GUN soldiers. Black Doom always looked at Shadow as a pawn because he helped make him, and because of the deal with Gerald. 49:37 The funny thing is that the Last Story gave us that exact same thing. 1:00:56 Another example of the English translation being awful. What he actually said in the Japanese version is that the Black Comet is stuck in orbit and can't get to Earth on it's own because of that. 1:05:18 I mean, as per the Japanese version of the game that's very much how Shadow views his past towards the end; Irrelevant trash that he has nothing to do with anymore, and doesn't want any re-establish any ties to it again.

What I like about this game = None of it. In my opinion even Sonic 06 is better than this messed up game. PS, You might not know this but, if you think that Shadow saying the swear word: "damn" too many times is crazy, well the language was originally going to be even worse because I heard that SEGA was previously thinking of in the English dialogue also having Shadow be saying the swear word: "f*ck" an amount of times! Not just: damn! Good that they scrapped that idea during this game's developement so that it didn't get put into the final product.

I really like the story & structure of the game tho even I'd smooth out the execution of a few aspects to it. I love how the game makes a point to have all these diff endins to showcase possibilities of wut shadow could've become after these events if things went diff. It shows how experiences shape someone. It also showcases all the things he doesn't end up becomin. He's not humanities protector for maria, he's not an android emperor, he's not suicidal. Doesn't take over or destroy the planet, kill BD(without fightin devil doom or goin super), sonic or Eggman & doesn't become someone elses servant or tool. Even not havin a "canon" path shows not even the player gets to choose wut shadow is & how he gets there. It also fixes issues I had wit shadow in SA2 cus the guy had no will of his own in that game & jus let maria define him all the time. Now he has his own identity separate from the version of himself in SA2. Thx to losin his memories & goin through the events of this game, canonically on his own he gets to no longer be someone defined by his past or by others & charts his own path for himself. It makes him more like sonic but in his own way. Also the localization totally butchered so much of the script it's not even funny. The characters say completely diff things & don't swear anywhere near as much or as cringely as whoever localized this had the eng version do. Like the pres. doesn't thank gerald he thanks shadow

I really love how much SA2 fanservice is in this game, it feels much more tasteful than cramming Green Hill Zone down our throats like recent Sonic games. Similar to Metroid games, we get to see past locations return and be expanded upon, like how Prison Island collapsed underground and got flooded with toxins after it blew up in SA2, or getting to see new parts of the ARK, like the lifts and power plants. Bosses like Big Foot have been downgraded to standard enemies, with GUN's new mechs like Blue Falcon being so advanced they can travel to orbit. Not to mention all the returning and remixed songs from SA2, which are a great touch. Frontiers made me forget how Sonic games could actually had the budget and vision to connect in organic ways, and not just through dialogue callbacks. (Oh, and pro tip, you can press d-pad down mid-level to disable all partner characters and their dialogue. You can also press left and right to instantly change your mission selection without having to go to the pause screen)
