De Efteling is just a park on its own. Everything about it just shows massive charm and love by the owners. For children it's easily the best one in europe. Fully agree on Phantasialand, since Covid it has never been the same again with huge queues and they clearly let in more people than before too resulting in crowded vibe everywhere.

Europa Park also builds some of its rollercoasters by it self (by the sister company Mack)

Phantasialand is just different because it doesn't create a story or world around a ride as theming, but rather it creates rides within a world. Rookburgh isn't meant to be 'the theming around FLY'. FLY is merely a part of that world.

Phantasialand has been replacing areas for a few years now. Maybe a decade or so ago, there were tons of dark rides and places to relax. Hollywood Ride closed down last year, Silver Mine closed together with the western town to make space for Taron and Chiapas, Chiapas replaced a dual log flume, the Phantasialand Express that basically screamed 80s futurism was removed, the building imitating that Epcot ball with simulators inside was removed for Rookburg, the Drachenbahn (1001 nights dark ride) and the Walzertraum (lazy river) beneath it had to go for some Berlin attractions that don't really got the same quality imo, and the whole lake area got reworked. I think the next rides to go will be some of the china town rides, like Geister Riksha and the inverting room. I just hope they put something in there that doesn't eat more space. The china/western area is one of two areas in the park where you can still somewhat relax. You are absolutely right about the cramped feeling in Klugheim. Taron completely tore apart that area, and now you gotta cross a billion bridges in an unfathomable layout to get where you want. Rookburg only having Fly is an absolute travesty, because the plaza is just barren and really feels anything but inviting. Major waste of desperately needed space. I guess the place of the former Hollywood Ride will get a new attraction next. Bats (formerly known as temple of the Nighthawk (formerly known as Space Center)) is right next to it, so maybe they'll tear that down too and try to make a new theme area. Idk. The old charm is being bulldozed - rightfully so - but they fail to replace it appropriately. Seeing this transformation is kind of sad, when there are clearly other parks that manage to maintain a relaxing atmosphere. Everything looks a lot more commercial now.

I got to make it up to cedar point this year to ride Steele vengeance. It was absolutely worth the 4 hour drive all by itself

Port Aventura is the best one

I watched this while leaving Efteling at almost 11 in the evening and man Efteling is my childhood described in a place it is so good and im dutch so its like the theme park to go to and today i first time tried going in the Python! Amazing park 10/5

The city of Brühl is run by idiots. They have a gem like Phantasialand and they try to make the life of the Park management a living hell with their restrictions. More room and 3-4 more coasters would make it even better that Europapark. So sad. Look at the support Europapark is getting from the towns around the Park.

I’ve been and it was actually fantastic as I went to all the parks there (they were all apart of my hotel) the best things there were motion gate -10/10 and probably halla Madrid 10/10

It is a real shame that they didnt renew the Eurosat coaster in europapark, and now its a worse french coaster...

You missed out big time with nemesis. I have to say personally I love the Smiler it is my favourite coaster in the UK. Heading to Walibi Holland, Efteling and Plopsaland next week though!

While Efteling is my home park and love it to bits, I got to give it second place after Europapark. The sheer number and quality of attractions over there is just something else. Just went there again and tried Voltron for the first time, absolutely amazing. Disney cant compete purely for price and business practices reasons.

If Rita was longer, I think it would have potential to be a top 5 in Europe. The designers could’ve added inversions and maybe more height (build underground) to make it even better

Europa park is a bit overhyped I think. I really missed a real good and thriling Coaster, such as Hyperion (Energylandia) or Kärnan (Hansa Park), and I experienced the often mentioned theming of the park more like a bunch of plants spread out in big areas of the park and then some out of place feeling buildings. I knew that there is this concept of the areas themend like different countrys, but while steping through the park it feels like a bunch of random, not together fiting stuff. I personaly was more impressed by the theming of Efteling or Tripsdrill. This parks transportet the theming without teeling you what you should see, and felt more coasy and like a nice place to be. Another point with Europa Park is the mas of people, in the atractions and in the whole Park. The entrance into an atraction was always stresfull and I got, even with these fast operations, long que lines. So for me Europa Park is not at the top in any category I can imagine thinking about theme parks. Not the best Coasters, not the best theming, not the most comfortable feeling in the park and not the fastest que lines. A real highlight for me was the Darkride „Piraten in Batavia“ wich was the best I experienced so far, even after visiting Efteling or Phantasialand.

Super cool that you discovered Toverland! I live fairly close to it and think it's a really great park myself, but somehow it doesn't have the international appeal yet. The fact that you rank it so highly really does me good!

I think you make great points. I can see Merlin wanting to work with Mack again considering how well Hyperia has gone. However, Rita over Smiler is a CRIME.

Nice video. It;s a great park indeed, However, if I had to mention one negative thing it would have been the, in my opinion, messy park layout and bad directions/signs. On a very busy day it's pretty had to find your way when you are visiting for the first time. Figured this out a couple of days ago ;-)

Europa Park is a very good park but gor the budget they have, the arrogance of the leaders and their daydream of bering on the same level as Disney and dresmworks as well as a lot of shit happening backstage i would never call this park "best of europe

Visited Europa park last year and it was a blast such a great atmosphere and ride collection only wish it was open longer as on the day I went it was super busy.

23:02 Take into account that, since Universal left the park, the owners have only been investor funds, not a single park operator or at least a company with some previous experience; so yeah, the operations are definitely bad on purpose.

YAY 6th place, Nice video. there is 2 parks that is not here that you may visit next time in europe and those is Legoland Denmark and Skara Sommarland Sweden.

Although I agree Europa-Park has some fun dark rides and the collection of rides in general is great, the dark rides are definitly not on par with Efteling. Pirates in Batavia is awesome, and maybe one of the best dark rides, but the rest of the dark rides in Europa-Park are quite bad(in a funny way)

I live an hour from europapark, my friends and me go there like twice a year and it never gets boring. Best Park in Europe no doubt

How is taron overrated its such an awesome coaster.

I love Europa Park to bits, so much so that I’ve been there three times in the last 12 months. But they have a huge problem: their customer service, and the way they deal with foreigners other than French people. Every time, or dare I say almost every day I spent there, I had unpleasant interactions with cast members there, at Rulantica and Rüst in general. I usually politely greet everyone in German to then ask “English?”. In the best situation they look annoyed af (they rarely don’t give miserable vibes) , at worst they reply rudely in German, something I unfortunately don’t understand. For a park of this magnitude I believe it’s absurd. And I’m Italian. Again that goes for the park, Rulantica (where I always get the Hyggedal pass, where one expects people to be extremely well mannered, and yet…) and with the local gastehaus. Sometime I have to write down stuff on google translate to make myself understood. It pains me to say this, but it’s affecting my experience so much that I’m not sure if I’d consider returning anytime soon. I don’t expect the Disneyland level of treatment, but come on….anybody else has had similar experience and feelings? How do you cope?

I was at Europa-Park last week. Theming is insane. I thought front row voltron was elite but didnt love any other rows. Found the back row uncomfortable, especially on the outside. Personally i found silver star a bit gutless. Wished the first half was a snappy as the second half. I loved Arthur! What a lovely ride. Especially loved the part where you fly over everyone's heads. Great park.

I cant find any thrill flatride. Definietly a huge gap in their lineup! Also, the ads are sometimes really killing the scenery. And you cant say that Blue Fire's elements are solid, when you call voltron's corks "dead spots". Exept for the heartline roll, blue fire is a dead rollercoaster from your definition. No forces, no airtime - sadly. This is what i criticize

EP is my home park but my last visit was in 2019 so I plan to go there soon. Last year I visited Phantasialand for the first time and for me EP is the better one by far. I feel like people only talk about how great F.L.Y and Taron are and never mention the negatives. What I disliked the most is that everything is so cramped together. No matter where you are you're looking straight against walls and it's not unusual for the queue lines to just go through an ugly cage. Yes, the coaster surrounding you is cool but you also feel like a prisoner sometimes. As someone who is used to Wodan tier queue lines this is a bummer. And the theming...isn't that great? There are no details to find, no hidden parts to explore. For me huge grey walls is not what I consider "best theming ever". Phantasialand looks nice and great and all that but something is missing. F.L.Y. looks absolutely amazing but it's only one part of the park. So for me EP outclasses Phantasialand's theming by a mile. Same for the coasters. I was only able to get a ride on Taron, F.L.Y. and Colorado because Black Mamba and Chiapas were closed. And I had no idea the others even existed lol. Maybe I'm getting old but the forces were a bit too much for me especially on Taron which I don't want to ride a 2nd time. Maybe I had a bad day but I've never felt like this before. People criticize EP for having a bad coaster line up because they're not that forceful in general...but that's what I prefere actually. I know that Taron and F.L.Y. are objectively really good especially if you like great forces but EP has better coasters FOR ME. As a side note: You said if you go there and don't ride anything you'll still going to have a good time which is actually EP's goal. In the biography of Roland Mack it is described how they wanted to make sure that you can experience enough by just walking through the park so the whole family (young and old) can enjoy their time.

I think Phantasialand is better. It has a better Overall experience and Costers than EP

Crazy to imagine that - when they built the park - they got no funding from banks as they claimed there was no potential for such a leisure facility and the idea was too grandiose. Fast forward: second largest park in EU. I'm glad, Europa Park is nearby. Also, as family-owned corporation, Macks definitely have more leeway in terms of profit and act more dynamically. Im glad this video did not incooperate some shady accusations of insurance fraud!

I grew up with Europa Park. During the 80s, we thought that Europa Park was Disneyland in Europe. For us it was amazing having our own Disneyland. We never considered this as negative.
