To test our fitness after five weeks of marathon training, we jumped in to one of our favourite local races, the No Walk In The Park 5K in Chesterfield. Expectation management was to the fore before the race, but could we come away with pleasing results?

I was excited to get my hands on a pair of Puma Deviate Nitro Elite 3s for a great price of £169. Initially I was blown away by their comfort and responsiveness. However I soon discovered a big problem, at least as far as I was concerned.

Last Saturday we crossed over the county border to Derbyshire to take part in Black Rocks parkrun Event number 2. Run on the old trackbed of the High Peak Railway, this course affords stunning views of the surrounding area and has all the elements for a successful event in the long term.

In this video we show how we got on in the British Masters 3000m Indoor Championships at Sheffield on 26th January 2025. Dawn had never run on an indoor track before, whilst I had only run there once before, back in 2014. Despite quite a few races between us on an outdoor track, the 200m indoor surface, complete with cambers, made for an interesting experience. Slightly paraphrasing Chumbawumba...
