I've increased my number of races this year and realised it's almost impossible to run well every race. Congratulations on grinding it out and hitting an even split!

Thanks for the posting the video of my local parkrun. Sorry it was raining on the day you visited. Additional fun fact for you. The Warrington parkrun route takes in part of the old Black Bear canal which used to connect the river Mersey to the Manchester ship canal. The Black Bear canal was filled in during the 1970's. It was the out and back section of the course that goes under the three bridges.

Hi Dawn and john. My ambition is to get sub 40 for 10k. At the moment, though, I found my own training wasn't enough to sustain my upwards trajectory. That was a new runner's period. Now it's not as easy to pb as much. I'm now trying new training programmes which push and challenge me. I've got to go through those adaptation stages. Sometimes you have to plateau there for a while.....I think 🤔

Nice one both, appreciated the IKEA fact in particular, never thought I was going to get out of the one in Glasgow one I visited once, nightmare. Excellent historical nuggets as always too. Hope the track race went well

From a local interest and passion perspective that’s probably one of your best videos. I personally really enjoyed the run on Sunday and always great to see some familiar faces both live on the day and now. I couldn’t pick a single fault with the day and everything went smoothly. The Ackworth runner you mention was ‘Dave Hughes’ who went with me to my 3rd ever different parkrun (York) back in 2013, fantastic runner and a successful finisher of the Bob Graham round. 😁

Hopefully that's the catalyst to get myself fully motivated and back running regularly. Been a struggle for the first half of 2024, picking up injuries, now trying to get bak. Water in a 10k wise. Depends on how I feel at the time. Sometimes I just say no Thankyou and go past. On Sunday I was ready for a wet as my mouth was dry. Didn’t have much and did offer to someone else who declined.

How nice to see a council support a local event with road closures and being allowed to run through the city Centre most encouraging in these difficult times. Well done John on a good run and video and let’s hope events like these encourage youngsters into a sport instead of looking for trouble. Brilliant to see tradition return.

i have entered the Grim Up North Bridlington half marathon on 29th December so thats 2 half marathons i am doing there this year then hope to try Skipton 20 miler in January with Grim up north

Fantastic effort Dawn! 3000m on the track is a tough, but fun distance to run. A lot of runners don't seem to want to race anything shorter than 5k, but I think they'd really enjoy it if they gave it a go!

Those shoes looked quality 🔥🙌 Well done for racing and the race footage, I don't find track racing my cup of tea haha

Well done and good to see more coverage of track masters events. I think my nerves are in inverse relation to the race distance so probably worse for 800/1500/Mile and probably more for the effort about to do. Is that a covered sprint straight they have at Leigh? Good that the Air Zoom Victory suit you. Found they really throw you forwards. TBH a bit too much for my liking. Dragonflys I find do a bit but not quite as noticeable.
