2:03 Glycerin! With its moisturizing properties, glycerin can prevent door and window seals from freezing and tearing. Simply add a few drops of glycerin to a cloth and rub the clean and dry rubber seals with it. Greetings from the colder continental climate side of things!
Great video! Am doing Brighton as well although fell over a couple of weeks ago and knee is still recovering, so a bit delayed with training. Hoping for 3:15 which would be GFA. Good luck!
You've got some fab routes on your doorstep, I reckon I'd spend a lot of time on the TPT if I lived where you do. Good luck to you both in your Brighton marathon training 💪🏼
Excellent video, John & Dawn, just the amazing views & awesome variety on the this undulating hilly run, is huge inspiration for training for your next marathon, I think you’ll both do amazing at Brighton marathon, good luck onwards & upwards ✅👣🦌🦦😀☔️🥳👏😀
I think you'll both run a fine race at Brighton 😃 no need to predict a time, but I'll predict you both a solid strong performance 😉 Your due a good result, fate's due on your side too.
Yes you and us both. Surely some reward for all that thoughtful hard work. Thought of your 40k runs when watching `Ran to Japan' channel talking about the 1970s Japanese runners. I assume you're a subscriber?
@@tworunningbrooms I know of him and recently his contents been popping up over the last 2 weeks. He's quick ! and looks like he has a sponsorship deal to keep him in Japan, what a dream 😃
You guys both work in education I assume then judging by the joy of Easter holidays! Same here! No Brighton for me this year, doing Manchester instead. Did Brighton the last two years so if you want any info or tips just give me a shout- it’s a brilliant one!
Ah back on the marathon trail. TBH I am sure that I was at my fittest in recent years for 5K and above doing marathon not 5K training. Actually more to the point just more volume. I feel at our age there is so much "quality" we can do anyway. Good to see though you haven't linked up with an app - well other than your one so to speak!
The latest app seems to think running clubs are not inclusive. Odd thinking. If the outcome of this phase of training is a Sub 40 at Bourton I'll be happy.
@ and you build a community by not going to a club but solo running via an app and loads of look at me posts. Umm that 10K is now “next month”. You may have to incorporate it into a longer run.
Good luck, both of you. I have a feeling that this training block and race are going to go well. I’ve got a charity place in London (probably the one and only time I will get a chance to do it), and am hoping to go sub 3h30mins.
Thanks. For me it's just not my thing and never really was. Always preferred 10Ks. For Dawn it's about extending running longevity having been at it for 25 years. The Masters track and shorter distance events had great appeal last year. You can race more frequently. You're still around your peak years and chasing that Sub 3. We have no more peaks left in marathons. So for what you have to put in vs what you get out it's not worth it in the long term.
Haha, there was a time XC was a big feature of winter training. Oh how I remember those freezing cold hours running around boggy fields in driving wind and train! 😅
Fingers crossed you have a good run towards the marathon. I'll be just down the road doing Southampton (couldn't get the Brighton entry). Training plan? Are you doing it yourself?
Yes we're writing our own plan. Just looked at Southampton and I think we would have preferred that to Brighton as it looks a lot better logistically. Parking etc. Brighton is not car friendly I believe.

The beauty of TH-cam. One throwaway comment about a car door then this advice 🙂
Good luck with the training I’ll be tuning in
Thanks 👍
Good luck with the training. Hopefully the weather will improve and training "gets" back to normal.
Thanks. Yes, a couple of snow days are fine, but then it can go! 🙂

Oh dear, hope the knee improves soon!
Good luck with your own training and achieving your goal!
You've got some fab routes on your doorstep, I reckon I'd spend a lot of time on the TPT if I lived where you do. Good luck to you both in your Brighton marathon training 💪🏼
Yes, we're lucky to have the TPT for flat and lots of attractive countryside for more undulating routes. 🙂

Thanks Reece. Hope all is well with you.
Great video, love the scenery, Thanks 👍👍. Happy New Year
Thank you
Hope the training goes well. I’m like you J, at the end of my long run I sometimes pick it up to get below some arbitrary number!
Can dress it up as 'progression run' 😀

Thank you for your cameo appearances.

@LightitUpSB thanks. Waiting to see what the on the day travel and parking arrangements are currently
Yes, jobs in education and always look forward to the holidays....😀
Thanks for the offer of tips! Good luck with training for Manchester!

@TimGrose haha yes nail on the head. It's like the idea of a running community is something new.
It's x3 half marathons for me this year. Hope you 2 hit your marathon goals 🎉
Thank you and good luck

Excellent. It's time... Good luck with your training.
Good luck to you both and hope you both have a great race. Interesting that you have both decided to drop out of marathon running after this year?

@ very true. As I wasn’t taking notes I missed the one thing you are changing with your new marathon plan?
@PoetWithPace lots more elevation instead of up and down the TPT
Your ankles and knees are going to be so strong after that cross country season 💪😂
Haha, there was a time XC was a big feature of winter training. Oh how I remember those freezing cold hours running around boggy fields in driving wind and train! 😅
My prediction is a D...idn't they do well! As Bruce Forsyth used to say.
That dates us all! You'll be dusting down the fondue set next.

@tworunningbrooms I'm sure @timeonfeet will give you a lift 😊
@@IRunDaily he'll make us run 30 miles before the start line :)
Could it be that I am actually first??
Congratulations!
Predicting competently executed marathon rather than Sussex General Hospital 😂 Be great to meet up and go for a run when you're both down here.
We should be gently running the Preston Park parkrun the day before. Then checking out logistics.
