Fantastic work both of you, really enjoying your videos. Come down to Worthing, Littlehampton or Hove on the coast for the fastest ones on the south coast 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Regular Hull parkrunner here - every parkrun PB I've set since 2010 has been in East Park... until a couple of months ago when I took 14 seconds off at Market Rasen. The plus points for MR are the lack of congestion as you said - a small field, long straights, and no non-parkrunners on the course make it a very smooth run. When I ran my previous PB in East Park, I had to do a lot of weaving in the last km which cost me time, though this is only really an issue for sub-20 runners. MR has a slight incline on the long laps, but anybody who does hill training won't find it an issue.
Great points. I guess when I was running my faster times at East Park in 2010-2012 numbers were fewer and I don't recall any congestion. Have you done the temporary course and if so how do you rate it?
Yes, I did the temporary course a few weeks ago. My watch measured it at 130 metres long, so I never bothered with an all out effort. We're back to the normal course now
The parkrun where I’ve done my fastest time is Heslington (one of the other York ones). It is 5 laps round a cycle track and for tnat reason isn’t the most exciting but there’s always enough room for everyone and you are always with other people (although in my case they will often have lapped or double lapped me!) Fast people can definitely go fast there 😃
Yes, we've done this one , both as a parkrun and Even Splits 5k. Can't deny it is fast, but there's something about it when lapping that can slow you down.
Hulls east park parkrun has a new temporary course and has a lot less turns and sticks mainly to the road through the park and loops around 3 times is wide and easy for overtaking and with less tight turns to slow you down so I'd say it's even faster than it used to be.
you might want to try eaton park in norwich , my local one , have done 380 there over nine years , i think its a fast course , a bit of a stampede at the beginning , simple tarmac 3 lap course
Battersea park run is super quick for fast runners... 160 people were sub 20 mins last week... Albeit slower runners will have a slightly worse time as the start is quite a long funnel and sub 20 are prioritised to the front
Done lots of them..but sometimes in the wind and which can affect the course considerably - selby, market rasen etc. I never find Long Eaton to be super fast and prefer Alvaston for an unconjested quick run just across the M1…but actually just head down to Walsall 😊 I guess Bromley and Battersea will be fighting it out for the quickest in the 2025 rankings. Oh the other one is the really lovely Abbey Park in Leicester. I found it as quick as Widnes and Alexandra! I think the rankings were done literally the week after it started as no way is it 360th!!
Yes we make videos most weeks. Sometimes as official volunteers. Sometimes we get a credit in retrospect from the organisers. But I'm not one for collecting credits for the sake of it. Looking back at some earlier parkruns volunteer credits weren't even recorded. It wasn't important to folk back then. It seems to have become much more of a 'thing' in recent years. And it's great if people want to volunteer. And great if they want to run. We've known people be turned away from volunteering as they were 'full'. A lot of issues to unpick in volunteering but maybe one for another video.
You should try Victoria Park, Belfast .It's the course that currently holds both the male and female parkrun world records . 3 laps round the lake on wide flat paths. The course is more like a running track

Thank you. Yes we've seen Sussex is the place to be if you're after a parkrun pb.
Nice to see some summer sunshine again ☀️👍 Have a great Christmas 🎄
You too. Probably doing NWIP January. Ask AI what he thinks
@tworunningbrooms nice idea. I'll have a think 👍

Fastest parkruns for me are:
1. Selby (on a calm not windy day)
2. Market Rasen Racecourse
3. Doddington
4. York
5. Yarborough
6. Hull
7. Hillsborough
8. Scunthorpe
9. Bushy
10. Heslington

Yes hoping to get there before they change it back. We're doing the Boxing Day 10k in the park.
@tworunningbrooms yeah I'd recommend it if you get the chance not sure when they will change it back. Yeah I know a few doing that. Good luck

Ah yes we did this back in 2011 or 2012 after doing the Worstead 5 the day before. Very pleasant park.
My parkrun pb at alexandra moss side. Quickest in Manchester 🙌
We agree with that having done quite a few.
I like long Eaton but always get trapped at the start!
Yeah the first time we did it someone jumped in at 200m to get to the front of the 'it's not a race it's a community event'.
I've not done it myself but I imagine the Weymouth winter course would be insanely fast (depending on the wind) !
Yes we've done it twice - both in insane conditions. We had hoped our November visit would be the winter course but it was a tad too early.

We watched a video and it looked fast but busy!
Hi Brooms come and try Bramhall Park Park Run in Stockport (not a fast one) but it’s great 😊
Ah yes we've done that in the past. So being very niche, what parkrun accolade does Bramhall hold along with just two other parkruns in the UK?
@ the first time trial took place on 19th April 2008 and it is the 6th to be founded !

I've had my eye on Abbey Park for a while. Quite a lot of history too as the name suggests?
Have you thought of volunteering?

Kings Lynn in Norfolk is a good, fast course near me
Ooh yes we did it years ago. I did low 17s. And we agree. Really interesting town too.

Good shout. We have a friend who has frequently flown over on the day for NI parkruns. Never been there and seems a very interesting city.
Have you Been to northampton parkrun The race.
course That is a Fast course
We've been but not actually run it as it was iced off. Good suggestion.
There's a new one at the the University of Northampton
