    "Laminations" is correct. I used to work in Liberty Village...Starbucks next door to the LCBO. Au Pain Dore does a mean chocolate almond croissant (and spectacular muffins). Le Gourmand makes a killer rum almond...which sells out very early.

    If you go on a Monday after 4pm you don’t need a ticket right? Are there any differences betwen going on a less busier day like a Monday/Tuesday as opposed to going on a Friday/Saturday?

    • @TorontoOurCity
      @TorontoOurCity 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's right, as long as it's not after December 12th. In which case, a ticket is required after 4:00 PM on any given night, till the end of the season. There doesn't seem to be much difference from 4 PM on a weekday vs 4 PM on a weekend. And while it's not explicitly stated, I do believe there might be less street performances on a Monday or Tuesday, than you might find on the weekend. Either way, enjoy your time at the Winter Village!

    I saw the Crumbl sign on the Well building recently. I was curious to try it but maybe not anymore at those prices. $6 per cookie!? They looked just OK to me, not worth that price or the line. I'm sure the line will die down in time so if I'm ever at the Well again I might consider one but I don't think I'd make the trip just for that. I tried Craig's Cookies recently and was not a fan. I didn't really like the flavour and the base was pretty much the same on all of them. They had this cloyingly sweet sugar taste that I didn't like. Not sure I'd get them again. I'll have to try Andrea's and Le Gourmand, thanks for the recommendations. I dont live near either of them, I'm further north, so it would have to be a special trip I guess.

    • @TorontoOurCity
      @TorontoOurCity 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm with you on Craig's. They're great home style cookies, but a little too sweet for my taste. One thing about Crumbl, the cookies are fairly large. And in some cases, they're less cookies and more cake/scone. In the case of the Pumpkin Roll, like in the video, that was a good enough portion for 2 people. But yeah, I think it's pretty expensive for what it is. Andrea's and Le Gourmand are fantastic, and I hope you get to try them out. Thanks for watching, cheers!

    Live down the street from Distillery District so I walk my dog through in the morning. The winter village should be free every day. What exactly do you get for your money, the chance to take pictures and buy overpriced food that is mid? Dior pays to sponsor the event plus the others you mentioned. For them to double dip and charge people is absolutely greedy. European markets don't charge or have the tacky in your face sponsorships. We should be ashamed of our winter village.

    • @UglyAndTraveling
      @UglyAndTraveling 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      oh so there is a ticket ? But I visited the Distillery like a month ago and it was free. Now they have tickets on for this winter village? If that is true then this is unbelievable 🙄🙄

      Agree.

    • @TorontoOurCity
      @TorontoOurCity 4 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Just to clarify, you need a ticket if you're visiting after 4:00 PM between Thursday and Sunday. However, if you're visiting between December 12th, till the end of the season, the 4:00 PM rule applies to every day of the week. So if you come before 4, it can be free... but yeah. Altogether super convoluted. But yeah, I don't disagree with the sentiment. As a ticketed event, there's less value here. But, you can still get into the village at 3:59 PM on any given day and still get your photo opportunities in within the hour when it gets dark. I like to believe the "ticketed" portion is to help keep the attendance down, because it can get slammed otherwise.

      @@TorontoOurCityDarcie in the context of this video, Midnight Cookie or Circles & Squares. If you ever did a BBQ video, Benny's BBQ in midtown and Beach Hill Smokehouse at Main/Gerrard are good options. On a side note, I genuinely agree with most of these places as being great. And to be fair, some have locations in other parts of the city. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with convenience for filming. It just doesn't seem representative of all the city has to offer when all the places visited in a video are in a very specific pocket of the city. And that's my gripe with a lot of "Toronto" reviewers in general (not you specifically so don't take it personally) is most don't even go east of the DVP. But that's just my opinion lol. The venerable Monsieur Felix and Mr Norton will always be #1. Since the 90s. You have to order from the only remaining store in Ontario in Markham though.

      Oh I’ve heard great things about Felix and Norton. I’ll have to make an effort to stop off when I’m in Markham next. Thanks for the great recommendation!
