I use to work in the area before COVID. My parking spot was across the way on Jarvis in the underground Canada Parks, and they get pretty full on weekends due to the St Lawrence Market. My spot there was Uno Mustachio for their veal and eggplant sandwich, especially since I never pass by a Californias or San Franciscos. Uno Mustachio's isn't anywhere near as big as the other 2, but it is almost as well stacked for less (I'm not sure what the price point is now, its been 5 years for me). And the bread they use was fresher and crustier. The only thing, at least a busy Califnornas has over Uno Mustachio is that the veal is crunchier and less soggy.
I can share that my father in law lives in the building right across from the Market and I've been so spoiled by the food there! Waking up early to run out before we got up on a Saturday morning he'd come back with fresh baguettes, cheese and my favourite salmai. Man, those sammys are the BEST. Simple but fresh ingredients make the difference. Thanks for reminding me to visit them soon!! xoxo
I haven’t been to the St. Lawrence market since I was a kid, way back in the 80s and 90s. My sister and I would always go there on a Saturday and pick up fresh meats, fruits and veggies for the family, plus my sister would have the female bacon sandwich from carousel, and I would have the eggplant sandwich from the bender in the basement right next to the stairs. Wish I could go back but I live about an hour and a half N. west of Toronto and can’t imagine fighting the traffic to get there on a Saturday.
I had a studio at 100 Qween W and loved shopping at the st Lawrence! So we've been takeing both our kids since we had to share with them now our order for four!
There used to be a chicken place right across the hall from Paddington's. Apart from the chicken sandwiches, they made an item called a Risso(s?). My all time fave at the market. Anyone know if they are still there? it looked boarded up.
Oh I think you're talking about Churrasco of the St Lawrence? Yes, they're still open. I didn't get a good look at the sandwiches, but the chicken plates looked fantastic. Thanks for the recommendation!
Hi there, for the best experience, I'd recommend going on Saturday. The market is busier, parking is tougher, but the atmosphere can be worth it. You may also want to check out the market street schedule if you want to pair it with an event, as I believe there's a music series going on. Have a good time, and enjoy it when you go!
you missed the basement: European Delight for peorgies and cabbage rolls. Flaky Pastries from StoneMill bakery are much better than Future but you have to get there +2-3 hours before market close - it sells out quick after noon (skip the chinese place in the basement). Buster's Sea Cove clam chowder
appreciate the recommendation! We'll have to go and check these vendors out. Stonemill's display is pretty legendary, but always a little barren by the time we show up 😅 thanks again!
Great video! St Lawrence is my favorites spot in the city. Im a regular there. My favorites that you should try next time Roast beef or back bacon sandwiches at Carniceros. Meat ravioli with the “combo sauce“ at the pizza/pasta place you visited. Muffuletta Sandwich at Stackd Lobster Bisque soup at Busters sea cove
It wasn't our best audio! We're getting better avoiding random piano players and birds no matter how charming they might be, we appreciate the comment and feedback. Thanks for watching!
That sandwich is one of the most drool worthy items I've seen yet. So simple, yet totally perfect. Thanks for the recommendation! We'll try it next time we're there.
Oh yes! I enjoyed your video, and I looooove peameal bacon sandwiches from Carousel Bakery at St. Lawrence Market. I loved the butter tarts from Carousel Bakery, too, and the pleasant flirtation.😊 I'm a weirdo in not liking mustard of any kind, so after buying my two peameal bacon sandwiches, I stopped by a little shop nearby to buy prunes. And THANK YOU for reminding us that Carousel Bakery is a cash-only establishment. I'll bring plenty of CAD paper currency on my next trip to St. Lawrence Market, as I plan to buy a lot of food from that bakery. Also, other businesses at St. Lawrence Market may accept cash-only, so it's a great idea to bring plenty of Canadian paper money, not only plastic🤑🤑👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I enjoyed vicariously eating my way through the market through your video.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The slice you got at Pizza Libretto at the Eaton Centre food hall was only $7, compared to this slice at $5.95, but the Libretto slice probably tasted 10x better.
no doubt! As I mentioned in the video, it was my favourite thing at the Queen's Cross Food Hall. I do still think there's some sticker shock with a $7 slice, but it was a very good slice. And undoubtably, the best slice of pizza in and around the Eaton Centre.
For the amount of baked goods you can find at Future Bakery, it's pretty amazing how many of them taste great. There's no shortage of great treats to be had from them.
unfortunately I looked forward to Busters Sea Cove, because of various reviews, I am a texan and am used to good flavored food. When I got my lobster sandwhich, I was severely disappointed, the fries had more flavor, unsure what the big deal is about this sandwhich, but we have better tasting imitation crab/lobster.
😂 not untrue! To be fair, this was a pretty good lobster roll. Far better than some famous places from Nova Scotia, and cheaper too 👀! And thanks for the callout. I'll be sure to mention some gluten free options going forward.
Hi Daniel, If you ever get the chance, it's worth a walk through, even if you don't pick anything up it's a beautiful historic building and good for people watching ❤

Uni Mustachio for the win! Thanks for sharing your go to order with us and your parking tips! Those are super handy when navigating Toronto Streets❤
Oh wow..we are going to visit Toronto in April next year. Can't wait! 😊
Good stuff. Nice to have a couple of affable folks stroll around and explore Toronto and check out the food and such. Cheers.
Thank you so much! That's so kind of you to say ❤
Really appreciate your view.
Excellent video on St. Lawrence Market. We used to visit 25 + years ago, it was amazing back then & was not as popular. Good times.
Oh awesome sounds like you had some great memories here! Any spots you would recommend? Anything we missed you'd like to see in a future visit?

Hi Julia,
Thats such a lovely memory ❤ Thank you for sharing!
Everything there is delicious! I always get the peameal sandwich whenever I go down.
Whats your go to toppings? Hot peppers? Mustard?
@@TorontoOurCityDarcie I usually just get some hot mustard on my sandwich. I've been going there for many years

sounds like a wonderful time with the family! Thank you so much for the comment.
@@TorontoOurCity we love PEC and Toronto! when the lake and cottages collide, life rocks!
The best food hall in Toronto!! Just had a fish fillet sandwich and clam chowder soup at Buster Sea Cove and they’re delicious!!
Loved getting pea meal bacon sandwiches at the market but way too much traffic and hard to find parking now so I go to St Jacob’s.
Oh we have to check St. Jacobs out one of these days ❤
Thanks for the view

It was a little hard to hear. Not sure if it was the music but kinda sounds like static

Churrasco is my favourite/ Amazing.
Oh that's on the list for our next visit 😊 Thanks for the suggestion ❤
Should have stopped at Mike's Fish Market for some oysters. They make a great snack while shopping. Was there 2 weekends ago.
Thanks for the recommendation! Any item specifically we should try?
Try the back bacon sandwich at Carnicero’s!
That sandwich is one of the most drool worthy items I've seen yet. So simple, yet totally perfect. Thanks for the recommendation! We'll try it next time we're there.

haven't been in St Lawrence Mkt in soooo long - looks like I'm due for a visit. Thanks for the inspo!
We didn’t show it this video but you should check out Stack’d Deli at the market. They’re relatively new and the Reuben was 👌👌👌
@@TorontoOurCity ooh, I do love a good rueben!
Future Bakery is the best bakery in the market. I always get something great there
For the amount of baked goods you can find at Future Bakery, it's pretty amazing how many of them taste great. There's no shortage of great treats to be had from them.
Pizza looking a bit small for that high price😮
I would rather go here than the well food hall! The lobster sandwich looks great, expensive tho
This has to be my favourite lobster sandwich i've had. Totally worth the price tag ❤
unfortunately I looked forward to Busters Sea Cove, because of various reviews, I am a texan and am used to good flavored food. When I got my lobster sandwhich, I was severely disappointed, the fries had more flavor, unsure what the big deal is about this sandwhich, but we have better tasting imitation crab/lobster.
Sounds like a road trip to Texas is in order!
Thanks for the comment, we appreciate the perspective ❤
I need a bank loan to shop at Buster's Sea Cove.
I didnt see any gluten-free menus or GF food.
😂 not untrue! To be fair, this was a pretty good lobster roll. Far better than some famous places from Nova Scotia, and cheaper too 👀! And thanks for the callout. I'll be sure to mention some gluten free options going forward.
They’ll probably serve the lobster over a bed of fries. It’ll probably be gluten free but not “certified”
I've never been to St. Lawrence Market, but I wouldn't go in the future because everything is more expensive than I would get at other places!!!

@@TorontoOurCityDarcie Well in that case, I'm looking for a girlfriend so I might check it out!
How did you guys eat this much food at once lol
The music in the back round was too much thumbs down
haha I'm sorry about that! Trust me, it was very charming in person but a serious headache in editing. I'll do better in the future!
@@TorontoOurCityno the music you added! Lol
The best 🌈🌈🌈🌈food ever🙂
U r voice like achor
This is by far the most overpriced, overhyped tourist trap in Toronto. $9 bacon sandwich and $20 6" lobster roll...
Gee you pick Italian sangwich which has minimal flavour- like ALL veal- yet you disrespect back bacon👎🏼
pizza looks trash
When u didn’t do the pasta u lost all credibility
Lol. Canada
wow you missed alot of good stuff but it cant be done in a day. you didnt do a good review at all because you left so much out
sorry to disappoint! We'll have to go back and pick more up. Let me know if you have any recommendations. Thanks for the comment!
How did you able to ate that much😮
Prices are a scam
