I'm actually sewing a trench coat whilst watching! It's the Isla Trench and it's a very well produced pattern. It been well drafted & everything has matched up so far and the instructions are quite detailed with clear diagrams. It is a very involved sew though and definitely one to take slowly!

Years ago, and I really don't know how many years ago, I bought the fabric, lining, buttons, and Vogue pattern for a trench coat and never got around to making it. During a recent clean out and organization of my sewing room I found the fabric. I think during the winter it will be a slow project, ready for the spring. I actually did use the pattern. I made my daughter a denim trench coat, and she still has it. I think she was probably around 20 when i made it. She will be 46 tomorrow. It's definitely a timeless look. It's very interesting to see all the different styles of a trenchcoat. The cape styles are fun.

Thank you for posting, I have such a wistful nostalgia for the styles around in those times. Living in Australia I became aware of the Biba (and Bus Stop) looks at about age 16, I'd started looking at fashion magazines. I remember the Sarah Moon photos, cloche hats, velvet gathered shoulder jackets, sweetheart dresses, flared pants. It made a lasting impression on me. So cool. I wish I could see the exhibitions, I'd swoon. 65 now, but there's still magic in it for me. I loved London when I lived there 1993/4, and went to Ken High St Markets (they were a thrill too). '67- 75 I'm nostalgic about, especially the 'boho luxe', 30's look, then psychedelia (fan of Marc Bolan and his style) Then punk came in and that was heady excitement too. Should have been born a Londoner.

Unsurprising that no filming was allowed and I'm sure you were able to immerse yourself in the event all the better for that. Your delight comes across in this video. I love the Biba story and the fashion of course.

The best POSH fabric shopping in London, way out of my price range, but nice to browse, thank you.

I love blouses! My favorite is the Olya Shirt from Paper Theory. So far I have sewn a solid color linen, printed cotton, and a striped linen; there will be more!

My favorite pattern for a shirt is Grainline studio Archer shirt. It fits me perfectly. The instructions are detailed and easy to follow. It is a perfect simple shirt that will be in style for many years. Have a good day!

Thank you for that tour, Goldhawk Road will be on my to see list next time I visit London! Also, the sound during filming was really bad ( specially if you are not a native English speaker, like me) but the autogenerated subtitles solved the problem quite satisfactory. Just saying, in case it helps other viewers.

In Australia, I buy my Liberty fabric online from The Fabric Store, The Remnant Warehouse, and Tessuti Fabrics. There was also The Strawberry Thief, which was dedicated to Liberty products, but unfortunately has just closed down.

I love the Roscoe by True bias. I bought that blue liberty floral and the thea pattern but the shoulder came out very oversized ( never usually an issue for me) Must revisit! Also love the Pauline Alice Reina blouse which ive made a couple of versionof and the Fibremood Tilly

I’ve made the Anna Allen Anthea in a cotton poplin and I love it, but the cotton poplin gives a crisper look than the boho look, I’ll have to try it in a softer fabric. I love the Tilly and the Buttons Marnie that I’ve made in a Swiss Dot and I’m currently making another. I would like to try the Wardrobe by Me Moire now, I’ve never seen that one before, it’s lovely. My favourite boho blouse is the Madswick Raida blouse which has lots of variations with some inspirational styling photographs on the website. It has pintucks, which I consider a boho essential. I’m not usually a Tilly and the Buttons fan but I make an exception for the Marnie blouse which also has lots of variations and lovely pintucks. Continuing my pursuit of pintucks, I am considering the Frux Studio Garden Dress and Top.

I have made the I Am Sunshine pants in linen. The pattern fit great except for my swayback. I'm working on adjusting for that. If I get the fit right, I would love to try them n denim.

I made the Fibre Mood Lulu but had real problems with the stand collar which I could not get to fit . Drove me mad!! Loved the sleeves though. There is a new Style Arc pattern with a ruffle collar which I fancy and I have made the Nephaline blouse with the ruffle neck and pleat sleeve detail which I absolutely love. Great round up again. Hi, I made the Liza blouse by Viki sews in a pretty blue floral cotton lawn. The pattern was easy to follow and came out beautiful.

The Poppy blouse by Pattern Scout is fantastic. I’ve made it in voile, lace and a rayon crinkle & always get compliments. The ruffled collar makes it really special, just be sure to really stitch the gathers in place, more than what the pattern directs. The designer also has a hack for a short sleeve option. I do not add the tie at the collar & just stitch up to my preferred neckline plunge depth for a v-neck effect. Really like the Vicki Sews patterns & will check those out. Great collection of designs- thank you for another great video & have a great time sailing! I used to sail years ago & miss slicing thru the water with the wind. Ocean only once, sailed mostly on a big lake in the PNW in the US. Good times indeed.

I made a Sew House 7 Remy Raglan with the gathered sleeve and split neck hack and it has definite boho vibes. I am intrigued by the Liberty Thea pattern, mainly the different sleeve styles.

McCall’s 7284, 7325, and 8285.

I think the Liberty pattern is a rebadged McCalls pattern. Tbh - you could probably hack a standard blouse pattern to get the effect....cut across the sleeve partway along the arm scye section, add seam allowance, slash and spread the lower sleeve.

Thank you. I gave made the vali blouse (pattern fantastique) and the Le blouse (atelier brunette). I think they both count as Boho style. I love that liberty blouse with the enormous sleeve. I think that I need to add that yo my list of things to sew

I love boho blouses! Great research, thanks for finding the inspiration and the patterns. Tianas closet has a few boho styles. I've made two different versions of the Isla Split Neck Top. The pattern is short sleeved, but I plan on changing it to ling sleeves with a gather cuff using a broderie anglaise. Well, actually, it's 2 thrifted dresses that I cut apart. I also a few Big 4 older patterns that have that boho feel. Please show some pictures of your sailing adventures. How exciting! I love when bloggers share something like that. For me, it's armchair travelling. 😅

Good luck with your practical in Croatia. Not sure if this falls into the Boho category but I'm currently cutting out the Nepheline Blouse by Vivian Shao Chen in Liberty Tana Lawn. Finished my Assembly Line Cap Sleeve (not Boho) last week also in Liberty and loved it. Great episode, thanks for all your research. The Liza Blouse might be on my radar.

Oh this video was lovely and got me sooooo inspired to make some new occasional wear. I am just beginning, but this made me want to take a leap of faith in myself. I was already on the fence about which vogue pattern to buy and I immediately purchased the Vogue top and skirt pattern that you said has a bit of a couture feeling to it. I'm going for it.
