Really enjoyed your sailing footage. Wonderful sailing in Croatia & I agree, very beautiful & historic. All the best with your first bare boat charter. Difficult to make a choice from the trench coats but I was interested to see the options with the warm liner. That would be a must for me in Scotland.
Congratulations! That is so exciting and I would think scary also. Thanks for sharing your adventures. Ah trench coats, so timeless! Years ago, and I really don't know how many years ago, I bought the fabric, lining, buttons, and Vogue pattern for a trench coat and never got around to making it. During a recent clean out and organization of my sewing room I found the fabric. I think during the winter it will be a slow project, ready for the spring. I actually did use the pattern. I made my daughter a denim trench coat, and she still has it. I think she was probably around 20 when i made it. She will be 46 tomorrow. It's definitely a timeless look. It's very interesting to see all the different styles of a trenchcoat. The cape styles are fun.
That’s amazing that you still have the fabric. What would be really interesting is to compare it with similar fabrics available right now to see how much fabrics have changed.
I’m preparing to make a cropped trench. I got the trendy crop trench on Etsy from a company called LaBavarese. They are German but instructions are in English but you need subtitles for the video tutorial. I chose a blue/charcoal colour fabric. I have so many things on the go - I’ve got several dresses to make for work to give myself more variety but I do want to make this crop trench before it gets too cold to wear it.
Hi Leona, yes I am the same with many projects on the go at the same time! Just looked at the trench pattern from LaBavarese, it's lovely, there are some great patterns on Etsy! Happy sewing x
@@gemimalondonHappy new year! I still haven’t made this trench yet but I have made a cape and the blanket coat you recently made. I had done it before but it didn’t turn out well because I didn’t read the instructions properly - so the second try has been great
I'm actually sewing a trench coat whilst watching! It's the Isla Trench and it's a very well produced pattern. It been well drafted & everything has matched up so far and the instructions are quite detailed with clear diagrams. It is a very involved sew though and definitely one to take slowly!
Atelier Brunette has just brought out a trench coat which I love, specifically the one with the tie at the waist. Can you recommend any fabric shops where you can buy water repellent fabric for trench coats?
Hi Mariana, there is a UK based company that specialises in water repellent fabrics - shop.britishmillerain.com/ I haven't actually bought from them myself but they have a range of interesting fabrics.
Hi Gemima Love all your videos. I really enjoyed your sailing in Croatia. I showed it to a friend who is doing the same qualification and really enjoyed your video of your experience. Would it be possible to tell me which company you used in Croatia?
Hi Mariana, this is the link to the Charter company we used - www.ncp-charter.com/ We had the chief instructor, Eddie, he was very exacting but I learnt so much and had a great week!
Well done Rachel! Diana
Love the harp music. And the hymn.
Congratulations. Your achievements are something you can be so proud of. I loved your footage of Croatia, especially the harp and church music.
thanks Diane!
Congratulations! Wow, I admire your success :)

Great selection definitely food for thought ❤
Thanks, I am just trying to decide which one to make!
