Iceland Road Trip Part 1 (X100VI + GR IIIX)
A new POV video from the Iceland ring road, covering the south coast in this first part. For this trip I was using a compact duo of the Fujifilm X100VI + WCL-X100 II (28mm) along with the Ricoh GR IIIX + GT-2 (75mm). A slight departure from my usual videos, I enjoyed the challenge of photographing landscapes and the northern lights.

Fuji X100VI vs Ricoh GR IIIx | Dutch Shootout

The final part of the Ricoh GR IIIx vs Fuji X100vi trilogy. This POV shootout takes place across three cities in Holland: Gouda, Delft and Utrecht. You do realize the GRIIIx teleconverter gives you 60mm FF equivalent and 75mm is just a further digital crop? That’s why you get lower res with it on. Why not tape up the contacts and reclaim the resolution for 60mm?

    • @po.ntandshoot
      @po.ntandshoot 16 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, I'm aware of the additional crop, but I prefer having a focal distance further away from the X100vi. I didn't know you could bypass it by taping the contacts, so I may give that a go in another video 📸

      @@po.ntandshoot thank you! useful. Do you find the snap distance successful in high percentage of cases? the 28mm, for DOF reasons of course, is supposedly more effortless at it. Also, as many have requested, it would be great to film a video just you talking about the camera and your experience of using it and perhaps also with an emphasis of the 40mm focal length which is a super weird focal length to be honest, 35mm is so close, but then again to me the different is so aparent despite being just 5mm difference. Good photographic eye. I just bought the GRIIIX, but coming from Fujifilm, i am still trying to find out if I have made the right decision choosing the GR over the X100VI. I think the Fuji is more like a mechanical photography tool, while the GR is a small, premium non- intrusive point and shoot camera. The photographer in me still longs for the Fuji, but my GR is pocketable, and thats the reason I went for that in the first place. Maybe one day I can try both... How does this street photography work. Do you ask the people you photographed if its ok to use the photos, or only if you get some social interaction with them ?

    • @po.ntandshoot

      Cheers. They are 2 very different cameras, so it's not the fairest comparison. Sounds like the reason you chose the GR makes logical sense, and it's why I haven't considered selling mine (which can't be said for the X100VI). Regarding permission, I only ever really ask if we make eye contact / acknowledge eachother before or after taking the shot. Public space is for all, and luckily you can't be reprimanded in the UK for documenting it.

      @@po.ntandshoot Yeah, that would be helpful! I have gr3 I use snap focus a lot. I want to get a gr3x because it will work better with snap focus. Since the distance from you to the person on the street the most suitable is 2 meters or 2.5 as a rule the face in sharpness turns out. That's cool.

    Kudos on the pronunciation! And the photos too, of course, regardless of the camera used.
