Its funny you bring up mudflaps being worthless. The 1st time i laid eyes on a 2024 Tacoma i reached down & grabbed the flap & was in awe. So cheesy compare to 2023 & all 3rd Gen flaps. Then i looked at msrp sticker & they have the balls to put it in additional charges 60.00 for Dollar Store plastic flaps. Really... Love some of the upgrades in interior. Rear bed looks too Tundra'ish. 4 cyl 2.4 ahhh they should have used the 2.7 bullet proof (i had & loved). Turbo is yet to be determined ! Fuel economy "My 2023 trdsport 4×4 4dr Sbed is getting that & depending on road i can beat that & my 3.5 is not broke in quite yet.... in all honesty i hope the 4cyl Turbo makes it a reliable Toyota truck. Seems they went up 10-15,000 from 2023-2024 models
Yeah the mudflap is stupid. And I’m a little peeved I had to pay for them. 😂 I think the price is a lot but something is worth what people will pay for it. And people are buying them. And it’s really not until the higher packages that the price increased a lot. Like on the sr ( these are all 4 door 4x4) they went up 2k, the sr5 went up 2k with the option to add a bunch more stuff so they can be about 6k more. The TRD offroad is about 4K more (one of the first ones that I think had a big increase) the offroad premium is about 8k more. Ect. So once you start adding all the crazy stuff like the 14” screen, front and rear parking sensors, the jbl system with the removable speakers, cooled seats…. That’s when the price goes way up. But the taco has never had any of that stuff. So I guess what I’m saying is, I don’t love how much the price went up but I can see how it got there.
There you go! The wash before this video I forgot to put a rag on the shutter sensor. Didn’t remember until I had sat and soaked that exact spot with the pressure washer for like 45 seconds trying to get the bugs off😂 must be fine 🤷🏽♂️😂

Yeah I might get some sliders or something. The bottom of my truck is absolutely peppered😂 the factory mud flaps on the 3rd gen were definitely beefier too. I had them on my 22 sr5 and I didn’t notice near as many rock chips.
That’s interesting. I haven’t seen anything on the chips. It is every bit as bad as some of the duallies I’ve had. The fenders on these new trucks stick out so far! It kinda seems too late to ppf this one 😂but I would say it’s a must for sure!

My 2017 long bed, SR5, quad cab with the V6 is averaging 24MPG. I'll keep my 2017 and V6. That 4 banger turbo will never last as long as their V6. I won't be buying a new Tacoma for that reason, plus they are way over priced, quality issues being build out of Mexico and they dumped American jobs to have them built in Mexico. F Toyota. If i buy a new truck, which is doubtful, it would be a V6 Frontier.
@ericd1632 I don’t think most people know this. Most 3rd gen Tacomas especially in the last few years were built in Mexico. And the new plant they built to completely move production to Mexico is one of the most state of the art manufacturing plants toyota has.

Are they having engine troubles like the Tundra? I haven’t heard engine issues on the turbo 4. I had a 19 TRD Off Road, and my wife owned an 18 4 Runner SR5 4x4. I towed our quads and SxS’s on a Big Tex 70PI 20x7 trailer. I towed about 5,000 lbs and my Tacoma struggled, just laying into third gear a lot, and hunting for gears. But my wife’s 4 Runner was a towing beast. I should’ve made a video on that. Because the Taco has a higher towing capacity than the 4 Runner. I hope this new Taco tows better.
I haven’t heard of any engine issues on the Tacoma yet. I’m not surprised that your Tacoma didn’t love towing. I actually have a video on my channel, that I posted a month or 2 ago, towing with this Tacoma. I towed my kubota tractor on a little flat bed trailer. I figured the whole load weighed about 5400 pounds and it towed it like a champ. This new motor tows like a diesel. And the 8 speed makes it so it doesn’t have to hunt for gears. This motor makes peak torque at 1700 rpm too so it really doesn’t need all that much rpm. Where the old 3.5 didn’t make peak torque till about 3800 rpm. In that towing video I also have a clip pulling a little heavier load, up the same hill I pulled the tractor up, but in my 2022 sr5 with the 3.5. So you can see the difference. 👍
There's an entire segment of the internet now dedicated to complaining about the new Taco. Same stupid comments. I went from a 2016 frontier v6, which was a solid truck, to a 2024 trd sport and its not even a contest of which is the better truck. If you dont like the price, make more money, cuz that truck is fckn awesome.

Thanks! I’m actually on the hunt right now for a hybrid version of the exact same truck. Since I work at a toyota dealership I have access to all the inventory in the whole country…. There is one ☝️ TRD off road premium hybrid in solar octane that is not pre sold or reserved in the entire country….
I got the TRD off road premium in solar octane. Bought it in Ontario. Was allocated but when the buyer saw it he wasn’t too sure about the colour after all. I happened to go by a few hours later, saw it and bought it on the spot. Got the Toyota roof rack for it as well. Get compliments daily.
@@1topcanuck such a cool color! I bet that looks amazing with the rack!
2700 miles you better not have any mechanical issues at that point or you kidding me. Check back in about six months.
Nope. It’s gunna hit 49,999 miles and throw a rod.
Don’t put that out there😂😂😂 at least it will be under warranty 😂
nah.....it won't throw a rod until it hits 60k
6 minutes in and don’t know if he’s every going to talk about the title of the video. Not trying to be mean but didn’t want to watch just random talking. You put a title - I’d like to know what happened but can’t wait 13 minutes for it.
I still support your work 👍
The damage is at about 11 minutes. Thank you for your support!
50K? Sure!! Just make sure you keep it garaged and minimal or NO TOWING, then piece of cake!!👍🏻👌🏻
Sounds easy!😂
We can only wait like you stated. Good early review. Enjoy the Tacoma... EDIT , Do you think its worth 50-55,000.00. Keep in mind taxes registration & insurances ???
No difference than the tundra they still drop quality meaning toyota I have a lot of issues with my tundra
That’s not good. What tundra do you have and what issues do you have
Good video sir 👍🏻
Thank you!
2 and half month with my taco sport. 3 car washes and couple of minor flooding and down pour.. no issues with the shutters 👍🏼..
There you go! The wash before this video I forgot to put a rag on the shutter sensor. Didn’t remember until I had sat and soaked that exact spot with the pressure washer for like 45 seconds trying to get the bugs off😂 must be fine 🤷🏽♂️😂
@@counterfeitcowboy1362 it definitely is.. I also forgot all about it and was blasting that area with a pressure water 🤣
Awesome😂😂definitely one of those oh crap moments 😂
Definitely my favorite color other than pearl white. Sweet looking for sure…
Thanks! It looks so good on camera! It is super easy to get awesome pictures of this truck. I do like the windchill pearl too. And the bronze oxide is sick too
That's why you run a rock slider or running boards mud flaps normally don't😅 Rock chips I have the Predators on my 2022 TRD off-road not a single rock chip but I also added mud flaps😊
Yeah I might get some sliders or something. The bottom of my truck is absolutely peppered😂 the factory mud flaps on the 3rd gen were definitely beefier too. I had them on my 22 sr5 and I didn’t notice near as many rock chips.
Rekgen makes good mudflaps that should help you.
I’ll have to look into those. Thanks!
I’ve seen several posts showing rock chips on the rear fenders. Seems like ppf is must there.
That’s interesting. I haven’t seen anything on the chips. It is every bit as bad as some of the duallies I’ve had. The fenders on these new trucks stick out so far! It kinda seems too late to ppf this one 😂but I would say it’s a must for sure!
Why buy a truck if you care about fuel efficiency......go buy a prius.....theres no replacement for displacement i love my v6 and how i drive 128km and half the tanks missing it reminds me i made the right decision lmao I LOVE IT
I thought the old V6 could get 20mpg? Shame to loose that option, Why is there no V6 option with the TNG frame as it fits?
9:28. Still Toyota using cheap paint quality and clear coat. 🤦🏻♂️
I don’t care what paint you use, you throw a rock at it going 80 on the highway, it’s going to chip😂 it’s more of a crappy mud flap issue😂
@@counterfeitcowboy1362 Toyota paint quality have been issues for years. Even if mud flaps are the issue, shouldn’t chip that much.
They've been building the Tacoma in Mexico for years what are you talking about
@ericd1632 I don’t think most people know this. Most 3rd gen Tacomas especially in the last few years were built in Mexico. And the new plant they built to completely move production to Mexico is one of the most state of the art manufacturing plants toyota has.
@@counterfeitcowboy1362 And yet quality still sucks. Yes, they have been making assembling Tacoma's in Mexico since 2004. But there was still assembly being done in Texas as late as 2021.
@@ericd1632 They were still assembling Tacoma's in Texas until 2021. yes, they have been assembling Tacoma's in Mexico since 2004. Nothing I said was wrong. Ditching American jobs for Mexican jobs. F Toyota. The Nissan Frontier is still a V6 and still assembled in the USA. I'll take a Frontier over a Tacoma. I like to employee American workers.
Color combo on this taco looks great 🎉
Thank you! I love this color!
Still have my 2014 Tacoma V-6 now I'm going to look at a Chevy Colorado.
Love solar octane!
Me too! It’s one of my favorite colors toyota has ever made. I like that it has a lot of red in it. I feel like orange is an easy color to mess up.
How’s Turning rasius
Great! Turns like a baby truck!
I have 45K miles on my Frontier Pro-4X and not one issue since I bought it. Love my choice and my truck. Added a 2” lift and UCAs for a total spent of $42K. Hard to beat!
who tf is talking about nissan? 😂😂
Tacoma boys hating on the 2.4L turbo. Me having my 94 2.4L 22RE. Wish I had the 22RTE
WHAAATTT??? You’re telling me toyota already had a 2.4 turbo!?
What a waste of money buying that garbage
I get better gas on my 4 cylinder access cab
same here no serious problem beside the shitty paint my door got line paint chip to the point you see the actual metal of the door
Yeah. I have a ton that are down to bare metal. Definitely need some beefier mud flaps or rock sliders or something
@@counterfeitcowboy1362 worst of all the dealer doesn't care smh!
Nice Update! 4 months with my off road next week. Those mud guards not doing their job. I have those also but live in the city. I may check out some ppf for thre fender 'hips" as well.
That’s awesome! Yeah I would for sure get some ppf or something on there. And the thickest stuff you can find too. 😂
Counterfeit truck for a counterfeit cowboy makes sense
Let me guess….Your wife left you for a cowboy?
Nice video! How far outside of St. George are you?
Thank you! I’m about 45 min outside of St. George.
I use premium fuel in my 24 taco and im getting 23mpg on normal drive mode.
Heck yeah. I was using 87 on eco mode when I got 23 mpg. I’d rather not have to run eco tho. It is definitely laggy😂
i use regular in my 2018 v6 , and get 23 driving it normally
What lake is that?
It’s baker dam up by pine valley
Still no driver side grab handle or locking fuel door ?
There's an entire segment of the internet now dedicated to complaining about the new Taco. Same stupid comments. I went from a 2016 frontier v6, which was a solid truck, to a 2024 trd sport and its not even a contest of which is the better truck. If you dont like the price, make more money, cuz that truck is fckn awesome.
😂😂 I do get a lot of the same comments on all of my videos
I guess you resume pretty well what is going on. This truck is amazing and expensive but it is amazing.
Nice truck!
Thank you!
Get the Nissan frontier 4x pro before they raise the prices! Literally just bought a fully kitted out 2024 4x pro and it was a steal!
It should be getting 30 MPG, it's a freaking 4 banger for crying out loud, lmao.
I can’t wait for the transmission goes out because it will. Good luck with that warranty and not having a truck for months. Good luck!
I’ve had mine 4,500 miles in. No issues , power delivery is great ! I also am running this as a 2year test truck. I’ve been pretty impressed so far.
That’s awesome! They are so fun! Glad to hear it has gone well
I have no issues with my 2024 Off Road Taco. I love it and it performs great no squeaks and my glove box does not bounce around either. It is a fun and very comfortable truck to drive around in. Thanks for your honest review.
I’m glad it’s treating you right. They are such fun trucks!
Just wait until the transmission grenades itself
@@ericd1632If it does which I doubt Toyota will 100% make it right. Go buy yourself one
@@nickdipasquale9779 Nah I'm good. Just bought a '22 TRD Sport with 25k miles fully loaded for $36k about 3 weeks ago. Getting an OTT tune done on Friday to take care of the gear hunting and throttle lag issues. I'll still be going strong at 300k miles and beyond. I doubt you'll be able to say the same. They're already having transmission failures in these new Tacomas with no replacements available any time soon. Hopefully you got a good one
@@ericd1632 Good luck with your ride hope you have fun with it. Enjoy life. I think I will be fine with mine but if there is an issue Toyota will square it away!
Bought a white ‘24 TRD off road. 500 miles in and I love it. Sold my jeep. Been my dream car. First thing I did was ceramic coat the truck. The interior is a big upgrade compared to my friends ‘22 taco. Happy I waited.
Heck yeah! I love mine. They are so dang nice!
I ain’t trading in my 2022 for nothing
You won't be happy when the transmission grenades itself and your truck is sitting at the dealer for months waiting on a replacement
It's a beautiful truck in a beautiful state. Now you need a camper hitched to the Tacoma and do some camping by the lake.
Thank you! Utah really is beautiful! I think a little camper would be a ton of fun! There’s so many cool places to camp around here.
Toyota has been 💩 quality for the last decade or so.
Go drink some more of that Haterade
